The pharmacy manager here is atrocious. My mother had just been released from the hospital and I tried to pick up her meds. The meds could not be filled for insurance reasons and the woman at drive through said "no we can't do that". I understood the situation but mom couldn't go w/o this medication so I asked for help to solve the problem. "I can't do anything". I called her dr who said I could use use a goodrx coupon and I went inside to pick it up. I asked the manager why she didn't give me this resolution and she wouldn't even answer me. I said "you let me leave here without a very necessary medication for my mom when you knew you could solve the problem!" She told me that I had the option of going elsewhere. No compassion. I am distressed to see so many negative comments about this RiteAid. I have never had a bad experience here. Staff is friendly and helpful. Pharmacists are responsive. Merchandise is nicely displayed. sales are awesome! Also, I have gotten flu, pneumonia and COVID shots here and have never had any trouble scheduling an appointment; in fact mostly I am a walk-in with little to no wait. There is a lack of communication. If they run out of a medicine they will not bother to contact you if that's the case. I have to call then to only find out I have to wait a week for the refill...and these are common medicines that even Walmart and shoprite has when I call them. If insurance denies a drug, no one bothers to tell me. We need to be more proactive here. Will be switching soon. read more

I have no idea what all these complainers are talking about. I'm in Rite Aid several times a week, and have been going for a couple of years. I haven't encountered a single rude employee there ever--not once in a couple of hundred visits. They're cheerful, friendly, helpful--have never had a problem with any of them. No problems with the pharmacy or pharmacy staff, either. My prescriptions have always been there right on time, and I love the fact that you can just walk in and get a shot without an appointment. I've walked in 15 minutes before closing, and the pharmacist was completely eager to give me a flu shot, saying "Yeah, come on, it'll only take a minute!" Which it did. I mean, hard to beat. Sounds to me like a lot of people in Readington suffer from First World Problem Syndrome: they can't appreciate a good thing when they've got it. read more

Worst. Pharmacy. Ever!!! Consistently horrendous service in the pharmacy department (which I have been told by the store manager that the pharmacy itself is not under the control of the store itself). Prescriptions not filled or not filled correctly, lack of communication with any prescriptions that may have a problem, will wait for you to pick them up and when they are not filled then they alert you that they need to call insurance or the doctor, rather than deal with any issue pro-actively. It is a horrendous pattern of theirs, not an isolated situation in the least. Cannot wait for Walgreens to open across the street!!! read more

Want to echo what everyone is saying about the pharmacy department. Absolutely terrible to deal with. Constant issues with filling prescriptions, communicating when a prescription is filled(sometimes they will send an automated message that it is filled and it is not) and just generally unhelpful. Although the store is well stocked, the customer service is just awful. It seems to start from the manager down. There are a few exceptions but overall the staff seems miserable and like they wish customers wouldn't come in and bother them. This is not true for the pharmacy staff who are always professional and very pleasant. The front staff could really take a lesson from them. read more

It's really zero stars. The afternoon/evening pharmacist is unprofessional and extremely rude. She tries to talk over you and does not listen. She made me call the insurance company twice from the store to try to resolve a coverage problem even though the insurance company kept telling me that it was the PHARMACIST that they needed to speak to on the PHARMACIST HELP LINE. I finally gave up (even the insurance company rep that heard her yelling at me in the background told me I should change pharmacies!), drove a mile down the road to the Shoprite pharmacy in Branchburg, and had my RX in 10 minutes with zero problems -- and that included them making the transfer of my RX out of Rite-Aid. I had a problem with her once before and chalked it up to her having a bad day, but now I know she just really doesn't care about helping the customers. She should get out of retail and find a job in a lab somewhere. read more

Visit this location 1 to 3 times a day..with 3 people in my home always in need of medical supplies to medications and everything in between..I spend soo much of my hard earned money here..most of us know each other by name..I enjoy the friendly faces and people who work at this location..victoria..nick..the managers Steve and basin..we get a lot of laughs..great staff...well than you have Brittney who is not the friendliest but not too bad..you have amanda..oh amanda you need to smile..you need to learn to respect the employees and oh yes the customers..you are a very nasty unhappy hate my job girl..why do customers talk about you? Why do the employees not like you? Worst people behind the pharmacy desk. So unbelievably rude. Recently I filled a prescription for vitamins and was surprised at how expensive they were (most prescriptions under my plan are $5) so I asked to just fill a 30 day supply instead. The young guy was so annoyed he told me to sit and wait (no one else in the store) while he took his sweet time doing nothing. Finally gets around to changing the 90 day to 30 and it is more expensive! Wouldn't that have been helpful to tell me before you changed it?? But worse than the complete incompetence is how unbelievably rude the guy was for the whole thing. I need to do like everyone else and switch to the nearby Walgreens. Not worth the headache- especially when you don't feel well. read more

I shop here pretty often, not due to prices but due to proximity to home, and mostly fairly decent customer service. I rarely write a YELP review, but today I feel the need to. A week or so ago, after making a purchase, a cashier handed me a $4.00 coupon along with my receipt. I wanted to use the coupon today to offset what I think is the expensive cost of your OFF bug repellent. When I got to the register, the cashier, who is usually fine, said the coupon didn't match the card I was using. She called over who I think was the manager or superviser, who said that I must have taken the coupon from someone else's transaction. I indicated, no, it was given to me, but she said ( rather rudely I think) among other things "if it doesn't work, it doesn't work" and she couldn't do anything. If a cashier gave it to me in error and I planned my purchase around it, how would I know that? And what should I do in the future to check to ensure the coupon is valid? No advice was given. Also, the store should be able to do something about it, i.e., go back to my prior transactions - and check this out. And make an exception if it was their cashier who made the mistake of giving me the coupon. I'm not a one time customer but frankly was treated like I was trying to cheat. I also don't like the fact that there were customers on line overhearing this conversation, where it was implied that I took a coupon that wasn't mine. Not wanting to hold up the line to argue I walked out without making the purchase and frankly will avoid this store despite its convenience. read more

I have to agree with the other review about the horrendous service and amount of errors the pharmacy tends to make here. My husband picked up a prescription once that the pills didn't look like what he was used to and when he questioned it it turned out they gave him a completely wrong prescription! I also went pick up a new prescription for my 5 year old son and they had it filled for Xanex in error! I was horrified at this and questioned the pharmacist on how they thought the prescription was for that drug and was told the prescription looked like it was written for it and to next time have the Dr. write it out clearer! Instead of calling the prescribing Dr. to clarify they just guessed at what it was and filled it. Needless to say I immediately switched to Walgreens down the road. We have made numerous complaints to management and nothing ever changes. You take your life in your hands by getting your prescriptions filled at this pharmacy! read more
