OMG .... how did I ever missed going to Rite Aid in Waldwick, NJ CVS and Walgreens can take a lesson on how this store is laid out and managed, it deserves 6 stars.... the lighting is SUPERB ...no harsh fluorescent like lights but softer, mood lighting; nice wide aisles not over loaded with so many things you can never find what you are looking for as in the case of CVS ... this Rite Aid provides you with a sense of peace and calm while shopping .... and let me add the store is really clean !!! But what is a nicely laid out, clean and well stocked store without a motivated team of employees supporting it...and I do mean a "team". I dont know if he is the store manager...but he definitely is a " team " leader and a strand out at that... his name is Johnathan. Rite Aid, take NOTE ... Jonathan is a real asset. I went to Rite Aid initially to get an item not carried by other pharmacies in the area. Upon entering and approaching the cashier area I asked an individual, who I later learned was Johnathan , for what I wanted and he quickly called over another individual to assist me. I could hear him giving his co-worker specific instructions on what I needed given that the employee was not totally familiar with the process. I paid and left the store quite content. However, not until I got home did I realize that what I picked up was the wrong item. I returned a few days later to exchange it and there I met Jonathan again who recognized me. I told him what the issue was and he said no problem. This time he got Barbara to help me knowing she had the experience I needed too correctly get what I came in for. Barbara as well had a very pleasant demeanor and managed to get me the right product. Upon leaving the store I commented to Jonathan on what a great team he and his employees made and he nodded and smiled saying ... yes we try hard to work as a team. NOTE --- I see how back in 2014 , at this same pharmacy , a few reviewers dinged Rite Aide for their poor customer service.... I can guarantee you that since then times have changed and for the better. There was this one guy at rite aid following me and my friend around and my other friends said he followed them and he follows you around the store and he follows you like he thinks your stealing and he only does it to kids. He works every Monday. He also followed one of my friends home. I think he might be the manager but i don't know. I was recently in the store because I had bought a gift card and it said no balance I thought that was weird because it was brand knew i had also purchased 3 other gift cards that confirmed they went through. later on when I rechecked them none of the gift cards had balances on them. the pharmacy there is good but for buying anything else I would say it is horrible there is clearly a scam going on with gift cards at the store so I personally wouldn't go there for them unless you want to be very dissatisfied. Even if I used the gift cards they would say already claimed on this account but it only says no balance left on card then when I check on the eBay check site they say $0.00. when I went the customer service helped but essentially said there's nothing they can do. So until they fix This issue I wouldn't get gift cards here unless you want to pay a scammer read more

This is my pharmacy and I wouldn't change it for anything! They are clean and always well stocked. I get all my prescriptions here for myself and my family and the pharmacist always makes sure you have all the information you need before you leave about the medications. Okay, really weird that I'm writing a review for a Rite Aid - but this one stands out. Located in downtown Waldick, this Rite Aid is spacious, well organized, and very well lit. Hooray for good lighting! Prices aren't too bad either. Open 24 hours which is convenient, especially for the area. Downside is parking is a bit awkward as the entire row in front of the store is handicapped. Non-handicapped parking is on the side or down a small hill. The lines are never usually too long and the employees are very friendly! Overall, a good place to pick up some daily essentials. read more

We were on Cobra and about to lose our insurance so I went in to get my prescription for migraine medicine refilled, a 3 month supply as prescribed by doctor and approved by my insurance. I show up to pick up my prescription, but instead of giving me my full order, the male pharmacist takes me into the room and proceeds to tell me what I should be doing to treat my migraines. He tells me I should go see a neurologist and that he will only give me a small portion of what my doctor prescribed. This was not a narcotic or controlled substance! It's the same medicine I've been using for 20 years that works. I explained that my Cobra was about to end so I needed the full prescription because once the insurance ended the price would be astronomical. He still refused to fill it. I asked if he's ever had to face losing insurance and he just looked at me and said nothing. I left in tears and he didn't seem to care at all. I contacted the regional manager to complain and she said she would help me get what I needed. But when I show up again, the guy says he can't get all the medicine because it isn't in stock in anywhere. So I call the Rite Aid in the next town over and guess what, they have it! Would it really have been so hard for him to call another store and get it?? He really just didn't care about helping me. However, I am leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because the regional manager was very helpful and the other pharmacist I worked with when after I didn't want to have to deal with this guy any more was also very professional and helpful. Unfortunately, Rite Aid made a very difficult time even more difficult. I guess they're okay to get basic things like antibiotics, but if you're ever really in need, I recommend going the neighborhood pharmacy route. Also, they have a photo printing machine where you can supposedly print out photos from your phone. My daughter needed some pictures for a school project so we went there. I'd called ahead to make sure we could get it done there self-serve and they said yes, no problem. But when we try it the system kept crashing, and the person behind the counter says it has problems all the time. To print out photos, you can't just download the photos you actually want. You have to wait for it to download every single photo on your phone which for us took hours! Then when we finally started to print they ran out of photo paper, and when we asked for it to be refilled their response was that the person who does that wasn't there. I finally convinced them to try and we got it done, but it shouldn't take 3 hours to print out a couple of photos. read more

I don't know the name of the pharmacist there, but he is awesome. (the one with the long hair). Any time I have an issue that really doesn't require a doctor, he always helps in a professional and accurate way. He knows his products amazingly. He is astute and caring. I usually like to use a local pharmacy to support small town businesses, but he is worth going to a bigger box store. read more

Nice renovation but it shouldn't take 15 minutes on line to grab some cookies. And I love my cookies, but for a quick pickup, I'm not feeling it. This is a very good neighborhood too, just disappointed at the customer service. Open some self-checkout lanes and I may be back. read more
