The pharmacy is understaffed! Difficult if not impossible to reach the pharmacy by phone to even call in a prescription, or inquire about one that's waiting to be filled. My prescriptions have taken up to three full days to be filled. I once called the regular store, and the attendant went back to make sure they picked up the phone. When they finally picked up, the pharmacy employee abruptly said. "One minute!" and put me on hold, where I remained for 5 minutes before hanging up. Management needs to address this problem. Pharmacy is usually fine. The front store area are quite nice and helpful. It just took one pharmacy tech that made me second think if I'm going to stay there. Young and very condescending. When I explained I was told it was already filled, received alerts, plus a phone call it's ready, still she would not hear me. Texts and phone calls and already filled made no difference. Drive over there was useless, which is why I get the alerts. She very rudely said no, doesn't matter, it's too old for you to have a refill. Didn't consult with pharmacist or anything. Talked over me when I tried to show her the texts, etc. Nope, doesn't matter. "I" say it's too old, etc. Very loud and very embarrassing. Young, blond pharmacy tech. Didn't get a "text" saying contacting your doctor which I usually get. Just her decision to say no and quit questioning me. Now, I did call the manager the next day and she was very receptive in telling me she'll handle it. Very intelligent and nice. So I'm still "deciding" whether I want to deal with that "one" person again or move elsewhere. It left me feeling that discouraged and irritated. We all have jobs. Just ask to be treated with respect and be heard. Definite abuse of her power in her position. read more

The wait time in the drive thru and walk up pharmacy is absolutely ridiculous. They need MORE HELP!! No one should have to wait in a drive thru for 15+ minutes when your prescription is ready for pickup. If it's longer than 5-10 min then they should have to go inside to wait. With as busy as this pharmacy is they should have one person on store window and one on drive thru window. Ridiculous! read more

My family recently moved to Visalia and we were going to the Rite Aid on E Walnut for our necessities. We struggled incredibly in getting a single prescription. We waited so long, so much back and forth. We would get a call that it was ready and when we arrived, we were told it wasn't and that it hadn't even been ordered yet. They sent us to this one to pick up the prescription instead and we will be coming here going forward. It's the best thing that pharmacy has done honestly. At the pharmacy, Scott was genuinely kind. He took the time to properly help us and let us know about a free trial for the medicine we needed. A Two week's supply is over $500 so it's super expensive. Stopped in to get a sweet treat fix since it's been a long while that my husband and I have had Thrifty ice cream. We usually get ice cream the the rite aid on Mooney but their ice cream counter was closed so we drove to this Rite aid. As soon as we stepped up to the counter we noticed they only had a few flavors and the guy said they were waiting for a shipment to come in. I still had my heart set on Thrifty ice cream so I ask for a double scoop, chocolate and cherry chip and my husband got cherry chip and chocolate chip. We get outside to eat out ice cream and we both notice that they tasted old and frost bitten. The chocolate ice cream was really sticky like when ice cream has melted and you try to stick it back in the freezer but you don't seal it right. It left a nasty after taste too. We ended up tossing the ice creams after the second spoon. Sad to say this ruined my want for Thriftys ice cream. read more

Some of the staff can be rude but the reason I give it four stars is for Scott the head pharmacist. He has always been polite and thorough in his consultations and this is worth my business for that reason. As aforementioned some of the staff can be a little less pleasant but truthfully this is the best pharmacy I have used in town. Even with its flaws, it is still better than Walgreens or CVS locations I have used in the past. read more

They are always helpful with my prescription. And they always give me a curtesy call if there is trouble with my insurance. Sometimes that can be really busy, but they try really hard to help you out. Went to pick up my prescription today and they told me it was sent to a different rite aid. Just switched over to this pharmacy from a Riteaid on the east side.Wow what a difference nite and day. Scott the Pharmacist has gone above and beyond to help us threw some problems and the staff is always helpful and friendly. If I could rate zero stars then I would. I came into this location to pay a utility bill, after being given the run-a-round that had us going from one side of town to the other, and the first thing I was told was that they did not do bill pay. Then it turns out that they do have the western union system setup BUT no one knows how to use it!! WTF? Y'all offer a service that none of your employees are even remotely capable of doing!! Here's a thought.... how about taking the time to teach your store employees how to use the western union bill pay so people like me are not wasting our time trying to get things done. There's no excuse or reason for sending customers on such a wild goose chase. I used to love going into a Rite Aid store, but after today, and after dealing with rude people from two different locations, I have serious doubts about ever setting foot into another one. read more

I just went to the pharmacy to ask about medicines to help with my cold and sinus pain. The pharmacist was so helpful, he even came out behind the counter to show me different products in the aisles. He gave me personal advice about medicines that have worked for him and it was a great experience! read more

This pharmacy is extremely unhelpful. I couldn't even get the person I was speaking to, to answer me. No eye contact or verbal responses, just silence and after a few minutes a yes or no. It was the strangest thing. I just left completely dumbfounded. I'm gonna stick to Walmart or SaveMart, they always have great service. read more

If I could give the pharmacist Chinedu Akabike and Cashier Rebecca individual zero stars I would, unfortunately I have to give the store all together a negative rating. If you're a patient with a valid Doctors office prescription with time sensitive drug you have to administer Chinedu Akabike will make sure to make it as difficult as possible to get the Prescription you need. He was extremely rude, not helpful and clearly acted like he was above everyone. I had my Doctors office send my prescription to Rite aid this evening as CVS was out of what I needed. When I went up to the window, I was immediately met with Chinedu Akabike's rude greeting. I explained to him what I needed and why I was at the pharmacy. He made it almost impossible to get syringes for my medical procedure that I'm in tens of thousands of dollar deep in. Even after my doctors office sent a prescription and called him, he was still rude and made me feel like as if I was a criminal or a drug addict. The nurse on call with my doctors office even called and explained that I'm on a time sensitive medication, and he still came to me after talking to the medical professional asking why did I need syringes? I told him, "my nurse said she sent over the prescription and also included a note to explain for what and why I needed the syringes" he continued to be rude and and treat me with disrespect. Ive never met Chinedu Akabike before, so I'm not exactly sure why he'd treat me so badly as a patient of the pharmacy and a paying customer. As I was getting closer to check out I thought, let me go ahead and film the rest of the interaction since I've been treated so rudely not ever knowing anyone of these people working in the pharmacy. My doctors on call nurse called me back and told me that I should put in a complaint with corporate. Even my Doctors on call nurse was bothered with the way he talked to her. As I walked away Chinedu Akabike the pharmacist wanted to know why I was asking for his name, and the cashier Rebecca replied back to him "she's being a weirdo" at that point I was done talking and bothering with them. Nobody deserves to be treated the way I was treated. I really hope someone reads this and takes notices of the way Chinedu and Rebecca conducts themselves at Rite Aid. read more

I dropped off a full years prescription (12 months) for a medication on 5/25/15, and when I went to pick up a refill on 8/18/15, less than 3 months later, I was told that there was no more refills and a refill request had been sent to the doctor!! I believe Rite Aid is billing the insurance companies and the government ahead of time, and then not filling the patient's prescriptions - not only does Rite Aid get the revenue from the prescription, they don't have to pay for the drugs because they don't give out any meds!!! FRAUD!!!!!!! From now on I will go to a reputable drugstore in Visalia like Towne Center that is not a rip-off. Run away from Rite Aid! read more

My husband dropped off his prescription and they informed him they didn't have it on hand, but it would come in the next day and they'd call when it came in. Ok, fine. The next day, a phone call never came. I went down just before 4 in the afternoon and asked about it. It apparently hadn't been unpacked yet from the shipment that came in around 1. As soon as it was processed, my husband texted me that he got an automated phone call that it was ready for pickup. It shouldn't take 3 hours to unload and process a prescription. And it's not the first time things like that have happened at this store. read more

The service was BAD 3 times out of the 4 times I have experienced! I drove through a drive though to drop off my prescription 15 min before 5pm. The tech was unfriendly and quite rude, he informed me that I need to be back before 5:30 because that is when the drive through closes. The store hours stated that Saturday it opens until 6pm! I came back at 5:25pm and the same tech told me my insurance did not approve the medication. It was approved 4 times before why didn't it approve this time? I checked with my insurance and doctor and it turned out I needed a PA. I went back to the store a few days later. This time I went directly into the store. Once again the same tech was there, I didn't get his name (once I do, I will update this), but I believe he is Asian. He told me once again that the insurance didn't approve. Even the pharmacist jumped in to inform me that it was not approve. That's it! They both did not offer to help me any further. The other Rite Aid I went to actually offered to send in a PA for me without me asking. With this tech, I had to ask him to send in a PA; he informed me that "he will" and that I will have to wait. A Week later, I called in to check and it turned out the same tech did not send in a PA for me though he said he will. A week later, I called in to same Rite Aid and the tech who is helping me was very helpful. His name is Dalton. Thanks to him, I'm giving this review a 2 stars instead of 0 or 1. He checked the approval status for me without me asking. He even offered to give me a call when the script is ready. NOT all Rite Aids provide bad customer service but this one on W Walnut was a disappointment. The reason why I went to this store is because they have a drive through. I would probably transfer my script to another Rite Aid. I wish all Rite Aid are consistence on how they help and treat their customers. Please hire more people like Dalton and re-train or let go of employees (like the tech I encountered multiple times) who do not stand for what Rite Aid stands for, that is "With us it's personal". Walked in at 9:50 pm (10 mins before closing) they didn't have the ice cream I wanted pre packaged so they then right then and there packed 2 quarts of the ice cream I wanted. Pleased with the customer service, I'm surprised they didn't make an excuse up to not pack some ice cream for me as some places probably would, 10 mins before closing . read more
