I made an appointment for some vaccinations. My on line confirmed appointment time was 11:20 am. I got there on time. I stood at the empty counter for 10 minutes ("Pick Up" line is where you go for vaccinations.) A couple employees passing by did say "I'll be right with you." Eventually the counter was staffed and I was asked to fill out a form on a clip board. The form was the same one I'd been enticed to complete on-line as a way of saving time. I filled out all the same information again, and turned it in. Other people presumably waiting for vaccinations stacked up behind me, eventually 4 deep, outside the private consulting room where they give shots. Nobody went into that room, and nobody came out. I was first in line for my shots. But they apparently did not have anyone on staff who could give shots. 40 minutes after arrival I told the guy in line behind me good luck and left. With the drive, this was a waste of an hour and forty minutes of my time. On the way out I almost bought a bottle of Bactine, but figured I'd not reward them for wasting my time. I found the identical product at Wal-Mart for $5 less. On the positive side, this store is better stocked (post Chapter 11 filing) than the store in Freeland. Not great, but better. read more

I had to go to the bathroom really bad at Rite Aid in Oak Harbor while my prescription was being refilled. They said I had to leave my Starbucks at the front desk so that I could use their bathroom. read more

To Whom It May Concern, I would like you to know that store number 05247 is an awesome Rite Aid store. They have excellent customer service and the store is very clean and well organized. I also have to let you know that the store has very honest people. I happen to leave my credit card at their store and called several days later to see if I have left it there and they told me that it was in there safe and I can come whenever I wanted to to pick it up and that it was safe in the in there store safe. I have told my friends about Rite Aid and also the excellent customer service and honesty the store portrays. I wish I could give zero stars. This pharmacy is laughably bad. I have great empathy for the pharmacies experiencing staffing shortages right now and the existing pharmacy staff who have to work incredibly hard as a result...at every other pharmacy in town. Not here. Today, I had the misfortune to interact with the rude young male pharmacist who has seemingly no respect for patient privacy. That experience added to the staff here who seem incapable of accomplishing basic tasks without forcing the patient to be the one to (unnecessarily) go back and forth with the doctor was the final straw. While I know this pharmacy couldn't care less if I ever return, I hope if you're smart, you'll also go elsewhere. Consider Walgreens, Walmart, Safeway, or even Island...you know, one of the other companies that isn't going bankrupt. read more

Pharmacy is incredibly slow. I know everyone is short-staffed, but to take a full day (sometimes longer) to fill a prescription is bad, especially when the patient is really sick and in need of medication. read more

They are quick, friendly, and go past store hours to give your prescription. I had to insist I get my medication that night instead of waiting, but they still kindly gave me the medication. The other pharmacy I won't mention was closed due to an emergency. read more

It's unfortunate that this Rite Aid has low reviews. Coming from California and visiting family, I was excited to see that there was a rite aid close to where I had dinner. So excited cause I hyped up about their signature Thrifty Ice Cream. Unfortunately, when I walked in I looked around and didn't see an ice cream stand. I walked up to the cashier and the young says "no we don't serve that here" even though that's a staple for Rite Aid's to carry Thrifty Ice Cream. BOO! Horrible customer service from a long grey hair lady. I was on the phone with my primary care to make sure my prescription was sent over and she rudely interrupted with witty attitude.. thinking I was talking to her.. waited forever just to get sent to drop off then told to come back hours later. Nearly 1 hour for a simple vaccine. It is hard enough to get your child to agree to get a shot but then to wait for an hour when they estimate 15 minutes is unacceptable. read more

Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island - Very rude pharmacy help. Turned an 87-year old that can't walk without assistance away from her booster shot because the appt time was "changed" somewhere along the line. The person at the pharmacy counter was very rude to her and said they were completely booked. There was one person at the pharmacy waiting for medicine!!!! read more

I rarely shop there as it is, now I definitely will not. It may be convenient for Rite Aid to have a "car club" hang out after closing but it's not for your neighbors. All the revving, peeling out and loud screeching donuts are annoying. I already reported it to local police once. Their response was "Several months ago Rite Aid store management started allowing the cars to hang out in the parking lot as long as they did not make a mess or cause trouble.". I have never had a problem with Rite Aid until this one. For the past four months I have had nothing but problems trying to get my medication filled here. If I call it in over the phone line it isn't ready when I go to pick it up. I am told I have to make a second call to reach an actual employee before they will fill my prescription. I try this, but cannot reach anyone. My doctor calls in a prescription and it takes them a week to finally fill it. I picked up a partial prescription, because they do not have enough in stock, and when I return they charge me a second co-pay to get the rest of my medication. I am out of my medication now and have been waiting for them to fill it. I just contacted the manager, and hope I can get my medication soon. This is ridiculous!! read more

I have had the same experience here. I'm not from this area and I don't enjoy the pharmacy trip to begin with. This pharmacy literally gives me heartburn and anxiety/panic attacks just at the thought of having to pick meds up. I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one. I went in to pick up a prescription this morning for the first time and my experience coming to this pharmacy was wonderful. I called in about half an hour to call it in and I spoke to Caesar, who was friendly and very informative. My prescription was ready as soon as I arrived and I was helped by a woman, whose name I forgot, but she was just as great! Steve the pharmacy manager answered all of my questions, again both extremely nice and informative. I saw great team work during my visit with a staff who was genuine. I would recommend this pharmacy to anyone in a heartbeat. read more

Debby is so disrespectful to her costumers. The people working in the pharmacy are lazy. I changed over to Safeway because of how rude the lady working there was, she completely ignored me when I was talking to her and moved onto the next costumer. When I went to Safeway they did exactly what I asked her to do to look up my insurance. I have had such terrible luck and service at this pharmacy. I had to go to the pharmacy 10 times this month to get what I should have been able to get in one visit. I had signed up for the one trip prescriptions. had calls that a prescription was ready only to be told if I wanted to wait it would be done in an hour. Came back 2 days later still not done. This happened for several meds. A prescription which was faxed from my doctors office on the 5th. I was told repeatedly that they hadn't heard back yet. I spoke with the doctors office to make sure it had been faxed. Went back to the pharmacy and let them know what day the doctor faxed it. All of a sudden they said, oh it's here. 20 days late for that one medication. I've never had such poor service. Running out of insulin for example is NOT okay! My health and time are too important to tolerate such incompetance. I finally changed pharmacies and am much happier. read more

I've been a customer for several months, since my pharmacy in Coupeville, Wa abandoned our community. I've had excellent service both from the staff in the pharmacy and in the rest of the store. I've never normally had a problem with the Oak Harbor Rite Aid. The employees are nice and the store is clean. But tonight I went and picked up a few food things. I noticed the Ice cream, which was pretty spendy, was super frozen. I opened it and inside the ice cream was frozen powder. I then noticed it had expired in July. So then I looked at my chips that had expired in Feb of 2012. My mints were also expired, the only thing not expired think god was my Starbucks drink. And it's not like they don't charge pretty high prices for their food products. More so then the Safeway in the same Plaza or the Walgreen's across the street. If any Rite Aid managers or top people care or read this site. Maybe have your employees do what more places that sell food do. Go through and pull almost or expired products. I am highly disappointed, lets say I won't be going to Rite Aid anymore because if the food is expired who knows what else is. I really hope they go through and train and make sure all stores are pulling expired stuff because this could be just one of many of their stores that does not pull bad stuff.
