Yes, there are sometimes vagrants outside, but I've seen worse at other WGs in "better" areas! The staff here is ALWAYS helpful. The pharmacist, Paul, is wonderful. He goes above and beyond to help. It's not always well-organized and not as large as others, and doesn't have a drive thru, but it can't be beat for good ol' fashioned SERVICE. At other WGs I have been left frustrated and inconvenienced.

Rite Aid has some good weekly specials and some rebate items, but prices are generally about average for drugstores. The aisle arrangement in this store, a mix of diagonals and parallels, is a bit weird. However, the store interior is fairly spacious and brightly lit so it's not hard to find your way around. Customer service and checkout accuracy was okay, as far as I can tell. The is a restroom at the back of the store for customers but you have to ask an employee to unlock it.

I walked by a bunch of times before realizing that it was even open, because the outside looks like it might be abandoned. (There are many closed shops on nearby side streets, so it was a distinct possibility.) You can find all the essentials here, from beauty to bandaids and snack foods. The store is clean and not empty but sort of low on stock. Basically, nothing remarkable. If you are in this part of the city and need something in a pinch, Walgreens might be your only option.

The two Toms in particular have been very kind to me. It's become difficult for pharmacies to get enough meds to supply patients, as our government dies not provide pharmacies with the ability to maintain the on volume of pain meds required. This very stressful both for the staff and patients like myself who risk going into withdrawal. This happened years ago and I ended up stuck in the hospital because we could not find a pharmacy with my meds in stock. I'm sharing this information to give a heads up to other patients who suffer severe pain and to compliment the staff for maintaining their professionalism.
