Unprofessional and Discriminatory Service I recently had a highly unpleasant experience at Rite Aid located on Visalia road in Exeter on 7/10/24. I am prescribed a controlled substance by my doctor, a psychiatrist based in California, and they even spoke directly with the pharmacist. Despite this, the pharmacist refused to fill my prescription, citing no valid reason and instead, suggested that I take my prescription to CVS. This encounter felt discriminatory and unprofessional. The pharmacist's demeanor was dismissive and condescending, and it was evident that they were on a power trip rather than adhering to any legitimate policy. As a patient, I rely on timely access to my psychiatric medication, and being treated this way is both frustrating and unacceptable. I hope Rite Aid addresses this issue and ensures their pharmacists provide respectful and professional service to ALL patients. I'll be filling a formal complaint against Ray/ Rite Aid with the California board of Pharmacy and the DEA. I urge others to do the same. After reading previous reviews, Ray requesting customers "return/exchange" meds is a violation of both federal and state regulations. Went In for my booster shot. Store Employees very,very unfriendly. Waited around while the very unfriendly Pharmacist prepared my Booster. She was as dry as a piece of burnt toast. Robotic questions. No caring in her voice or attitude. The gal who gave me my booster was so unfriendly, cut, dry, no personal skills whatsoever , these employees should be reprimanded or go work in a factory where you need zero people skills.... ...no hello from front register gal either. Just " do you know how to use our "self check out?" Hopefully, a District Manager sees this and talks with store manager. If you want a pharmacist that argues with your doctor over an Rx for pain meds , then this is your pharmacyI had an over 8 hr back surgery in April and am still weaning off my pain meds. I actually ran out of pain meds because the managing pharmacist refusal to fill an Rx from my pain management md. He had to fax over a copy my hospital records before she would fill this Rx. I come here, I don't go to the pharmacy very often but when I do I don't seem to have the problems that are posted on here. There is a line for the pharmacy and sometimes you have to wait almost 5 minutes. Maybe they have improved since then? Most of them were from 4-6 years ago. I don't see any reason not to come here. A friend of mine says the ice cream from the scoop shop sometimes has a grainy texture to it. I have noticed it too but not all the time. It might be some flavors and not others. I had nothing negative to say about this store. The cashier was very kind and polite and not rude at all. I would still come back and visit again. I honestly just wanted to come by and see if I ran into this Justin character everyone complains about on here, but I guess the pharmacy wasn't open yet. My mother comes here quite often to fill her prescriptions and she has never mentioned this guy, but she also hardly understands english. I would hope that everyone who has these issues with this pharmacist would hopefully complain directly to corporate and get this A-hole out here. read more

I'm not too sure what happened to this place but ever since they moved into the new location customer service SUCKS in ALL departments especially the pharmacy staff they are RUDE heaven for bid if you call for your prescription an hour before they close they will not fill it and tell you to come the next day even though you're completely out of pills! Don't show up to the store for some emergency cold medicine at 9:53 even though closing time is 10 PM the employees will stand there side Eyeing you like they are invisible and don't want to see you because it's seven minutes till close and they don't want to work. read more

I went in to buy a pint of ice cream and theyve been out of pint containers the last three times I've been. so I decided to buy the quart and get two flavors in it instead. The lady didn't even packed my ice cream! She stabbed at a couple times and went about her merry way. I got in my car and (I carry extra spoons in my car) I flattened it out in the container and I had an extra 2-3 inches of room for more ice cream! Forget about getting post op pain meds from this pharmacy. The pharmacist seems to be on a power trip refusing to dispense the pain meds ordered by the surgeon. I was prescribed a pain med & it's ok during the day but not strong enough to get through the night. I paid cash for the prescription. The surgeon called in something stronger so I can get some sleep. The judge & jury pharmacist refuses to fill the new prescription unless I hand over the meds that I paid cash for. He will not refund the meds, says he will "dispose of them". That would only leave me w the much stronger meds to take during the day. I do not want the strongest pills during the day. I asked if he would just dispense 3 of the stronger pills to get me through the night, so I can sleep. Again he said not without handing over the current weaker meds, no refund. I have no history of drug abuse. I don't drink. I had a major surgery & am in pain, but he doesn't care. He's on a power trip. read more

I only blame the chain for this review not the employees, they no longer take my insurance for prescriptions, how can a company just all of sudden after 17 years tell me we no longer accept your insurance? This sucks really big time, go jump off a cliff rite aid and suck balls read more

The store itself is okay. It has all your basic drug store finds and ice cream. The pharmacy is awful. I pick up prescriptions for my mother. She calls them in and then calls back to make sure they're ready. When I go in to pick them up, half of the time they don't have all of them or they're not ready. This is after my mom has already called and they've told her they are ready. They are also extremely slow and you always have to wait in line. While waiting in line I usually see them tell the customers the same thing- your prescription isn't ready yet. I'm not sure what the deal is as they always have at least five people working at a time, they never seem understaffed. It's a safer bet to get your prescriptions elsewhere. read more

Pharmacy is horrible, especially since the move to the new store. They are understaffed. Doctor sends a script, you go to pick it up the next day and it's not even ready. They didn't even bother to call and tell you there was a problem. Think twice before using this pharmacy for your needs. read more

Horrible customer service the woman clerk with glasses and black hair on both visits was rude, not helpful, very sarcastic. I thought moving my prescription to Exeter would be better, thought wrong. Avoid the Rite Aid in Exeter if you value your time and customer service. It truly bothers me to write this review because I love the town. read more

Pharmacy does not fill prescription until you come in... every time... why even have an automated system to refill if they don't do it? And literally in my experience half of the time they make a mistake and you have to come back later. Thankfully I rarely have to fill prescriptions, but I think I will go elsewhere in the future... although, for a good laugh, read the 'customer service' statement while you wait for them to acknowledge your existence... hilarious read more

"Zero" stars if I could. This location has the worst customer service ever. They have just moved into a beautiful newly built building and yet the customer service in the Pharmacy sucks. I have tried for 4 days now to get conformation on three scripts. On the fourth day in the middle of the conversation I was hung up on. The pharmacy is a place where people are in need of medication, it is not a place where people enjoy to go. If you can go to Rancho Pharmacy, it is the best pharmacy to go to in Exeter! The pharmacy has worst service have ever been seen at any pharmacy ever! They are willing to be dishonest and rude with their customers. They always have an excuse ready as to why they have treated you poorly or don't do their job correctly. Although the prescriptions are called in by the doctor or dropped off several hours to several days ahead of my pick, they are never filled when I come pick them up. They won't start filling your prescriptions, until after you come to the store and have waited in their long line at least twice. They always find some problem or excuse as to why they can't fill the prescriptions on time. It always takes several fruitless phone calls and trips to store, before I get my prescriptions.
