I loved my Rite Aid but it is a disaster recently. Shelves are empty, but the worst is what's happened to the pharmacy!!!! They don't refill meds, they never answer their phone so you can't even speak with someone. Unfortunately, with my insurance I am forced to use Rita Aid. I've been a loyal customer of Rite Aid in Beacon for YEARS. Up until recently, I never had any major issues--occasionally, they'd have to order my medication if it wasn't in stock, but that's understandable. I used to appreciate the text notification system that let me know when my prescription was received or filled, but apparently, that's a thing of the past. Now, I'm forced to call the store, only to be put on hold for over an HOUR--if they even bother to answer at all. This is BEYOND frustrating, especially for someone like me who travels frequently for work and RELIES on their medication to function daily. Just three months ago, this would have been a 5-star review. I absolutely adored the two pharmacists who were previously here, but ever since they have left (past three months or so. I think they changed pharmacy staff?), the service has gone downhill. Rite Aid, you're already bankrupt--with empty shelves, mass store closures, IT issues, and more. You need to do WAY better if you're trying to save this joke of a corporation. This feedback needs to be relayed to your dysfunctional pharmacy staff because this level of service is absolutely unacceptable. for some reason, Rite Aid has had trouble restocking their shelves after Covid so many things are missing. They are understaffed in the pharmacy department and don't necessarily answer the phone. This is unfortunate as people in depend on Rite Aid for years. it seems the store has gone downhill and there is very little alternatives near I am going to have to switch my pharmacy which is a pain to do, but I have no choice. I have had some major stuff going on and not only am I on a ton of prescriptions but I have to travel a lot for doctor appointments and surgeries. I live in Beacon so this is my main pharmacy. But the traveling requires at times the pharmacy to transfer my prescriptions back and forth to other pharmacies. These guys are absolutely great about getting me my prescriptions filled quickly and doing the transfers on my behalf. They are even very kind to me when I'm being a grumpy pants from feeling awful. I really don't understand why this pharmacy doesn't have higher starts across the board but I definitely think they deserve to. read more

This has to be the friendliest Rite Aid east of the Hudson. While on a Beacon bar crawl on a hot summer day, I stopped in here twice. Once, after only two beers, to get a bottle of water and a candy bar. The store is clean and well-stocked and I was impressed! The cashier was very friendly and chatty, maybe some people would say too chatty, but we had a great conversation about the royal family. Several hours and numerous beers later, I stopped in to get some snacks for the journey back to New York. Loading up on chips, Combos and some TGIF Hot Fries, along with seltzer, I was fully provisioned for a lengthy train ride. Again, I experienced fast and friendly service. This Rite Aid exceeds my expectations for what a Rite Aid, nay, what a drugstore, should be. read more

When you need a couple drinks, snacks, hair dye, wine, beer, pepto bismol, and make up -- you need a Rite Aid. This spot has a really decent selection of make up and hair care goodies, a pharmacy, plenty of food/drink, and a great seasonal aisle. Their wine selection was sorely lacking so we went to the liquor store across the street, but besides that this drugstore should have everything you need when running errands or when you forget something on your travels. Attention Rite Aid shoppers!!! The pharmacist would like to announce YOUR personal information out loud in their loudest tone of voice. Despite posting a sign to have the other customers stand back to allow for other customers privacy, the pharmacist can't help themselves but to loudly discuss your personal information. Both times I had my prescriptions filled at Rite Aid in Beacon, the pharmacist used NO discretion as to how loud they spoke. Also, upon getting a new prescription filled from my doctor and the pharmacists asked me, "do you know how much your prescription costs?" Before i could decline the prescription, they precede to talk (audibly for all the other customers to hear) about how I cant afford it. How unprofessional and humiliating. Meanwhile, another pharmacy tech was shoving a barrier at me and kept hitting me with this barrier while i was at the counter with my wife. What an awful, annoying, and humiliating experience. Cashiers are always friendly and helpful. Store is always clean . Awesome that it's open till 10pm . Catch everyone in there getting there late night goodies and necessities. Beacon is lucky to have it especially when you don't drive or have transportation it's very convenient. read more

I've been trying to stop smoking for 1 1/2 years. Success so far! Because of buying Nicorette, at least twice a week, from this particular store. So what happens to me at 9:30 on a Saturday night, when I'm jonesing for nicotine? I'm told at this same store: "We can't accept an expired ID." It's expired recently because I don't drive. I am 54 years old! And look it! The store is always understocked and dirty. But this is ridiculous. They have made me start smoking again. Unbelievable! Stupid, and a sign of gross mismanagement. I normally use a different Rite Aid- but have gone to this one several times, as it's closer to my home (the other is closer to my doctor)... Called to see if they could fill a script that had been called into my regular Rite Aid, and came to find that because it was a controlled medication this would not be possible. Which is neither here nor there. But when I asked the woman on the phone (who is the tech at this location) to explain, because I was confused, as it's all done on computers, as to what the problem was- and this woman completely lost her temper and started ranting about "knowing her job" and "like it or not you need to call your doctor!" And "who are you to suggest I'm mistaking?!" It was absolutely bananas! Being that it was a "controlled medication" this woman talked to me like I was the absolute scum of the earth trash. It was insulting, demeaning and totally unnecessary, and I will NEVER give this location another penny after being treated like garbage by this self-righteous, rude woman. I'd recommend if service matters-take your business to one of the 800 other pharmacies in the area - being treated with decency and respect should be automatic, and with this woman at this location, customer service does not matter (especially if she can look down her nose at you). #Disgusted read more
