Our department has ordered from Rita's for the last year. Their menu is massive - all sorts of things you can ever need and more. So many sandwiches to choose from. So many salads. Great entrees. Their pastries are beautiful ! Sandwiches come in a box and are labeled , so there is no confusion. They have always been reliable. Fiona and her team are lovely to work with. The deliveries have always been a great experience. Only thing I will note is they often come EARLY so maybe be prepared for that ? I don't use that against them since they come to Boston from Everette. They have lots of deliveries so they have to be precise when it comes to timing and I know that can be difficult. Better early than late :) Their food is worth the price. Happy to work with Rita's and will continue to feed my hungry department with their yummy food. read more

Dear Rita's Catering, I love you. You cater to my work all the time. When I go to a meeting, or happen upon a stash of leftover Rita's signature plastic lunchbox shells, my heart skips a beat. Namely because my stomach takes over my body and my brain is forced into dreaming about the goodness within.... Each of your lunches are just so perfect. The main section of the lunchbox-plastic-case thing has a sandwich, or a pasta salad, or a salad - you never know what you're gonna get. I like the sandwiches - plenty big, I usually only eat half of it because, well, a girl's gotta watch her figure, right!? The sandwiches aren't the BEST in the area - but they are REALLY GOOD and NOT THAT BAD FOR YOU which is totally key for a Bostonian doing lunch each and every day. Every lunchbox has a smaller section of mixed fruit: melon, pineapple, strawberries and blueberries and grapes. A nice touch after the sandwich. Then - 2 small deserts in the other small section of the lunchbox. Usually a cream-filled puff pasty thing and a small cookie. Just the perfect little end to such a divine package. Compliments to the chef! I ordered catering through Rita's for my birthday dinner. It was very last minute but they were able to make it happen! Fiona, though very busy (holiday season) was so supportive throughout the process. The food was AMAZING!! Everything was tasty - no salt or pepper needed - absolutely flavorful. The apps were great - tequila lime chicken skewers, beef skewers, crab cakes, shrimp and charred corn, citrus scallops - all delectable! For the main dish, they recreated this sea bass dish with bouillabaisse, clams, and potatoes! Again, super tasty!! We just had Rita's delivered as a gift to my office and the food was absolutely fantastic. After much debate, I settled on the pecan-encrusted chicken over mixed greens with poached pears, cranberries, and Roquefort cheese and it was INCREDIBLE. Still, I think its safe to say I would have been equally pleased with anything I tried (I'll let you know... I'm taking home a leftover roast beef with caramelized onions and Jarlsberg for dinner!) because everyone seemed equally thrilled to me. The presentation was really nice, the ingredients were ultra fresh, and everything tasted wonderful. Everyone raved about their lunch and either ate every last bite, or stashed some away for later. Rita's is the main Catering service for my office. I always look forward to having a customer visit the office because that means we get to order Rita's catering! The salads are perfectly fresh with a wide array of ingredients. I would give the staff of Rita's catering 6 stars if I could. (Specifically Franco who works out of Westwood). The staff is so friendly, attentive, and are genuinely interested in your day and making sure your event runs smoothly. I also should note that my customers visiting the office look forward to lunch everyday by Rita's catering as well. The location at 1100 Winter St. Waltham is bad the. The new lady who prepare the food doesn't care if the tuna is mixed with pork or the veg falls in to the meat container. She just picks it up and put it back on the other container. Some times the bacon falls in the veg she don't care. I'm a vegetarian and she will never change her glows. Wish I could give Rita's more than 5 stars! During the COVID-19 pandemic we were faced with many plan changes to our wedding and with 35 days to plan our modified micro wedding I found Rita's online and without a tasting or anything we decided to go with them for our intimate, 12 person wedding. The food was beyond phenomenal, the service was impeccable, before during and after the event. They coordinated a number of rental vendors for us making our wedding planning far easier than it could've been. In a very stressful time we were able to lean on Rita's and our day would not have been as amazing without them in our corner. I would recommend them to any and everyone. Catering is the only business where the vendor supplies you with much less than they agreed to, but charge you anyway. My nonprofit has an event once a year for donors and supporters. We ordered about six things on the menu, confirmed the order, talked to them that day, etc. They failed to deliver half of the items, leaving us only with some dips and appetizers - none of the heavier hors d'ouerves we had promised our guests. After a nightmare trying to get someone to respond to us (over 30 minutes between phone calls), the hot items were delivered two and half hours late, just as the event was wrapping up. No phone call the next morning - nothing. After my call they eventually agreed to take the undelivered items off the invoice, with a very small (10%) discount on the stuff we got. So, what we thought we had bought was a nice meal. What we ended up with was some chips, bread and dips. I will never call them again, that's for sure. The lack of communication was actually more infuriating than the bad service. Awful. read more

I would never chose this caterer based on the quality of service & food provided in the cafes in various office buildings around MA. Our location is 1100 Winter St, Waltham. Food is low quality & highly priced. It seems like every single employee they hire DOES NOT want to be there. It's an inconvenience to them to "serve" us. The woman at the check out line is hit or miss - she's either overly nice or looks like she wants you to rot just for going through her line. The woman that works the deli is particularly bad. Example: "Can I just have the special but can you add pickles?" her response "Well than that's not the special" and proceeds on with attitude, and that's an everyday attitude. I wish our whole office building would ban together in protest because losing money is the only way they would improve. read more

Ritas Catering "SUCKS". Work in an office complex in Waltham and the food is horrible, extremely expensive and the staff just doesnt care. There was talk in the building that on at least one occasion someone found insect(s) in the salad I didnt see it personally so cant confirm but not something I questioned. The building management has done nothing to get rid of them and the lousy food and high prices are the reasons why I brown bag it or order out. In fact the lack of access to decent breakfast and lunch options is one of the reasons why I am searching for a new job. If you cant get a decent meal while at work it makes for a long and pretty crappy (literally) workday in my opinion. Steer clear from Ritas Catering unless you get enjoyment out of regretting your food choices. Ritas Catering, where they empty your wallet of cash and fill your belly with gas. Their setup staff was on time and efficiently - getting things set up all three days without any need for guidance or supervision. I few weeks ago I got Hepatitis A from eating at an event Rita's catered. Their hot Sandwiches were served still frozen in the middle. when I asked for another sandwich they put up an argument and they gave me a tuna fish sandwich with brown lettuce and soggy bread. Due to the Hepatitis I have lost thousands of dollars of income and at this Rita's is not taking any responsibility for my illness. I know for fact that some of their locations got shut down for failing a health inspection during the time I got infected with this horrible illness. eat at your own risk. read more

The investment firm I work for has many meetings with International clients and employees from the UK. After tasting various options from hundreds of local catering firms, I have to say that Rita's is the best I've had so far. Their Citrus Chicken Salad lunch is to die for. Fresh spinich, strawberries and Pecan halfs with a tasty dressing and ample chicken with orange. The addition of a fruit cup and cookies or a variety of other pastries come with each lunch. We are a health conscious firm so their healthy options are greatly appreciated. Wish they were closer and opened a restaurant. I'd be there daily for lunch. read more

Terrible experience with Rita's Mess Hall on Georges Island. There's always a rush during lunch and the service is extremely slow. Waited 30 minutes for fish and chips, a veggie burger, and a salad (which is pre-made and ready to go). Food is overpriced and bad quality. The salad had spoiled pieces of lettuce and a fly in it. If you're going to the islands, pack a lunch and avoid this place. read more

This is the second time we have used Rita's for a corporate event and again everything was outstanding! We had a cocktail party with light appetizers, the presentation and quality was phenomenal. The best part is that they provide a bartender as well as alcoholic beverage as part of the catering package. The bartender, Ken, was fantastic, professional and prompt. Just came back from our trip out to Georges Island, the staff was amazing!!! Made us feel so welcomed, we ate and ate ( the food was great) I highly recommend the fried chicken....
