I barely speak any Italian, I'm mostly faking it with Spanish. But they are friendly and fast and really tried to communicate even if they spoke little English.
The appetizer buffet is charged by plate. They have some really good things in the buffet, like octopus, fried calamari, and other delicious Italian appetizers.
Warning, the oysters are not part of the buffet!! Not knowing what I was doing, I ate 7 of them. Fortunately, they only charged me for 3 of them, but they were 2 euro a piece I think.
The waiter brought me a full 750ml of house wine after I requested the small one (500ml), and after I pointed this out, he said "No problem" and they only charged me for the 500ml.
I got fettuccine porcini, and the girl I was with got spaghetti carbonara. I see why the hostel owner recommended we get half half pasta... the portions were huge! I almost finished but not quite and my friend dumped most of hers on mine to eat. They were delicious though!
