There are a few tables outside, especially for the warm Summer days, and three rooms on a basement level downstairs. Pizza is good also for people with digestion or food-tolerance issues, and is prepared in the wood oven just in front of people, as a guaranty of how things are done and what ingredients are used. Also recommended the suppli (deep fried rice balls), which are home made and very tasty. Service is polite and prices honest.

In just so many words, this not exactly haute cuisine, it's just comfort food, Italian style. While the place is famous for the meat (Bibikiu is the Italian spelling of BBQ), I also like their pizzas, or at least a focaccia to share, just to open up the stomach. And you'll need it, both pasta and meat offerings will keep you busy for a while. If you're wondering what's in that amazing sauce on the steak, the chef shared the secret: mustard, butter and cream. Scary, but good. A bit too heavy for my taste but great value and the perfect option to seat large groups with very diverse tastes and a fine appetite.

We ate here one evening as we were still exploring new restaurants near our hotel. This place is…read morelocated close to an Opera venue. The staff was welcoming and we got seated promptly. The main distinguishing feature I recall here was that a fair percentage of the staff was from the Phillipines (though they may have been in Rome for a long time). Also, their wines were only sold by the 1/2 liter, liter, or bottle (not by the glass). We got the standard table bottle of still water. Honestly, a lot of the Italian restaurants where we ate ran together in terms of what dish I got where. The pastas were almost uniformly good, so it is hard to recall. I may have gotten lasagna here. Whatever I had was pretty good. I do not recall anyone in our party being dissatisfied with the meal. The location was a block or so of the Via Nazionale, in the direction of the Termini Station. If you just got off the train, this would not be a taxing walk. I'd consider eating here again if I returned to Rome.

A pro trip for most touristy countries is to avoid restaurants that are close to very popular attractions or town squares. They are likely going to be overpriced. If you go off of the unbeaten path a bit, you will likely be rewarded. Ambiance (4/5): Lo Zozzone is a quaint restaurant with some cool decor everywhere. Unlike most restaurants in Italy, which are all about al fresco dining, Lo Zozzone is an indoors experience. The tables are close to each other and to the walls so it can get a bit cramped but that's my only complaint. Service (3.5/5): Typical European service. A bit slow, a bit inattentive, but acceptable. You may have to grab your waiter's attention here and there but you'll make it. Food (3/5): Lo Zozzone is known for their Roman-style stuffed pizza which is a bit deceiving as it's basically a sandwich and not pizza. They have a huge menu with various toppings and sauces and such. It'll be served warm on thick, focaccia bread and it will be filling. And moderately priced at that. I went with the prosciutto and sun-dried tomatoes which made a nice combo. Just a sandwich in my book so not spectacular but it did the job. Drinks (4/5): I had a soft drink so not much to write about here. If you're looking for a restaurant with some character and you'd like to try some food that Rome is known for, Lo Zozzone is a good choice. I wonder how their non-sandwich/stuffed pizza options fare.

The decor is adorable, very eclectic and reminds me of eating in someone's kitchen. It's so cute and lots of fun things to look at on the walls.
