I called Mr. Electric at 7pm and they schedule for someone to come at 7am the next day. Julio came on time (a couple mins earlier actually) and started getting to work. We paid around $400+ as he is a journeyman and not an apprentice. He was in and out of there in 30mins. He gave us great advice for the future of the house! One thing I appreciated the most was that he put on shoe covers upon entering the house! My house isn't the cleanest as we had just moved in but definitely saved an early morning mopping. He asked us to buy a list of parts before starting. After purchasing what he requested, he left multiple unnecessary holes in the drywall and routed the wrong size power line through the exterior wall instead of taking a cleaner, code-compliant route. When I checked with Browns Electric they immediately pointed out that the materials and setup he requested didn't make sense and weren't code-compliant. After spending hundreds of dollars in services ($200hr, not including parts) and ending up with no working connection, we had to hire a different electrician ($125hr) to start from scratch (who is now doing a far better job at a lower rate). We removed the wrong wiring but still need to repair the damage. :(

    Scheduled a service call through my home warranty (HSA) after what appeared to be a power surge…read morethat damaged multiple items and systems in my home. The issues included non-functioning switches (fireplace, Venmar air exchange system, bathroom), a new fan and fire alarm needing installation, and several appliances and tools that failed at the same time. I clearly explained these concerns when the appointment was set. The technician (Scott from A1) arrived about 30 minutes earlier than scheduled, before I was home. My wife was there, but the scope of the visit had already been documented with the warranty company. During the visit, only one issue was addressed--a worn bathroom switch, which was replaced quickly. The other requested items (fan installation, fire alarm installation, and diagnosis of the fireplace and air exchange system) were not completed or meaningfully evaluated. The technician then left before I arrived. The report submitted to the warranty company indicated that no further work was needed. As a result, the primary issues that prompted the service call remain unresolved, and I no longer have a clear path through the warranty provider to have them addressed. If you're using a home warranty service for multiple or complex electrical issues, I would recommend confirming in advance that the technician has reviewed the full scope of work and will stay to complete or properly diagnose each item.

    I called Raven electric last week and had been requesting a ball park figure on electrical work to…read morebe done at our home. The receptionist stated they could not give me an official estimate since their estimators were 3 weeks out but would send me an estimate based on the information I provided right away. I called 3 times requesting this information prior to my appointment 29 Jan 2025 and didn't appear that the estimate would make it prior to my appointment. I stopped checking my email the day before since didn't think an estimate would be sent at this point. After talking to my wife the day of our appointment I called Raven Electric and she mentioned the estimate had been sent. Our time block was scheduled between 10:00 - 1:00 and asked if the technician would be able to finish during this time frame. The receptionist stated she could not guarantee the work could be finished. I let her know we were going to the airport later this afternoon and would probably need to reschedule. I understand time blocks but was just trying to see if she knew when the technician would arrive to complete the work prior to us leaving the house. Raven did send me an email yesterday that had a basic quote but at this point I stopped checking my email since I'd given up on getting the quote prior to our appointment. I did apologize for the late cancelation and asked to reschedule. She abruptly stated canceling just before your time slot is unacceptable and we'd need to find someone else to do business with. I've never encountered a business before that treats customers this way and throughout my interactions with the receptionist even from the beginning had been very terse at best. Afterwards I located other reviews that mentioned scheduling issues, technicians not showing up on time and appointments being lost. That tells me they expect the customer to be understanding with them but any issues on the client side is unacceptable. I definitely believe with this additional knowledge about their customer service issues I've dodged potential problems working with them in the future.

    As a store manager for a nationwide chain of stores, I would absolutely recommend Raven Electric…read morefor any job big or small. They always send polite technicians and the techs get the job right the first time. As far as pricing goes, I'm not sure how their rate compares to others in the area. I do know, they have an amazing office manager who has been able to get a job done when the wiggle room is pretty tight. Thank you to her!
