1st time visiting Rise Rooftop for a birthday celebration. Nice venue with great concerts coming up. Max Rios and the Waysiders and the Latín Image opened up for Grupo Negami. Very nice old school bands. Max Rios plays something different from other bands. First time listening to live English songs with an accordion. Latin Image rocked it. Nagami was awesome! Thank you for the birthday tickets won at their last concert in North Shore. Had a great time, would recommend if you don't mind standing or paying $175 for a table of 4 and $20 valet parking. Good tacos sold outside. Lots of bouncers and undercover cops working but everyone behaved. Only 3 stars because there are no free tables or chairs to sit on, not even outside on the patio.

Yachtley Crew put on an amazing show at RISE! We had 2 VIP tables (the best spot for a show) and Cooper took wonderful care of us! Thanks Cooper! Keanu made sure we had a great time as well, keep us safe going up and down the stairs. We cannot wait to go back! Thanks everyone!!!

The "ADA section," close to stage but the stanchion didn't blockade very well and it was extremely cramped.

!!TLDR; Those in need of disability accommodations need to be very aware of their limits to see if this venue is suitable for you!! Extremely mixed opinions on this venue, its layout, and the staff. This show was a bit of an oddball since the venue switched to RISE the day before the show. With that considered, RISE's staff worked extremely quickly and efficiently to accommodate disability needs. However, the layout of the building seemed to attempt to negate their willingness to accommodate. Their disability entrance is questionably accessible, the elevator worked like a charm and seemed just fine. However, the ramp itself was really steep and definitely initially intended for band equipment but works on the side as a quick fix for accessibility in most instances. And by "really steep" it had to be probably about a 35° degree angle if I had to estimate. I, personally, am a fulltime motorized wheelchair user so the angle was certainly a concern. My saving grace, however, was the extremely kind security guard who escorted us both into and out of the venue. He stood behind the wheelchair on both the way up and down, helping push it so it would make it up as well as not tip backward on the way down. Midway through the show, he even threw out some Otter Pops because it was really warm. I never caught your name but you, my sir, are a savior and you are doing absolutely wonderful at your job. Thank you! Side note: He vaguely mentioned that they were looking to better their accessibility, however, I don't know the method they're going about it or when it will be started/completed. Once you get inside and settled, you're put in the "ADA section" which is essentially a 3ish by 6ish foot area blocked off by some stanchions. Unlike your standard accessible section, it is NOT elevated, so likely chance if you're a wheelchair user you will not be able to see. There were seven of us total in that itty bitty corner, there was no chance that if all of us needed to be sitting that seven chairs could fit in that area. Not to mention, it was a sold out show so the stanchions were being pushed and it was definitely a push to hold our ground and not get pushed closer to the wall by the crowd. The security guard(s) stationed by the door (not the guy mentioned earlier) were disappointingly lackluster. The first one attempted to keep people from pushing against the stanchions throughout the first opener, but gave up shortly after. I understand it's a sold out show, but this is your section for a vulnerable population you said you'd be able to accommodate. To conclude, if you need any sort of accommodations, please be extremely aware of what you're going into. I happened to have luck in finding a really great staff member who helped me feel much more safe, but even then, the seating was extremely cramped and I had people pressed against me from the other side of the stanchion and got my fair share of nasty looks from strangers who I asked nicely if they could move.

Love the vibes here it's a smaller venue, looks like an airplane hangar. 2 story . It was a very hot day the day we went but they had plenty of fans.. so it was fine. It is an indoor venue. Staff was super nice!!

I went to rise on a Thursday to see Bonnie x Clyde And it was literally the most fun I've had since covid started. All employees were wearing masks but they did say it's up to you if you chose to wear a mask. there's so awesome many places to get cute photos! I cannot wait to go back i met so many friendly cool people & I heard they have an awesome EDM line up for this next month! You have to check out this party spot in Houston

I cannot praise this place enough. Came here Sunday afternoon to see bunch of metal cover bands. I wasn't expecting too much to be honest, however, the tickets were free..... just sign up and download from the Rise Rooftop website. Well, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, the bands were extremely entertaining and played with passion..... I enjoyed watching them more than some of the big named bands I have seen play recently. Rise Rooftop is a fantastic venue, when it gets dark outside and the light show kicks in. The venue was not that packed, but it was a great atmosphere full of people passionate about music. I have read some negative comments on here about the staff, but my experience was only positive... bar staff and security very friendly. There are small VIP areas with tables which I believe have waitress service which are expensive too book in advance ($100), however, for everyone else drinks are extremely reasonably priced and there are signs up saying that gratuity is included in price. I think the venue frequently has free events on Sunday afternoons. I would urge people to check this place out and support live music.

I really really love this place!!! It's a great venue for edm shows especially, so as an EDM fan I've already visited 4 times and they were all fantastic experiences. I like that there is a unisex staff and they have all treated me above my typical standards for a club staff. Stevie and the other tall male bartender (I believe his name is Matt) have both made me their newest regular because of how badass they are. Thanks for being awesome Rise Rooftop, keep it up you're doing great :) ***REASONABLY priced drinks***

Went for Eden Girls Night during Pride. We sat in VIP and it was just ok. Wood benches. Service was okay. Angel was really nice. We had a lot of people in our area and it just was a cluster. DJs were terrible.

We went here last minute because we found out Jon B was in town and doing a concert. I'm an 80s baby so you KNOW i was through the roof when I found out! I'm the biggest Jon B fan! This place was great, we were in the VIP area and it was nice. The crowd and concert was nice! Would definitely recommend!!!

I was here last Friday 7/30 and the place was packed. I honestly didn't like the way the club it's set up, no dancing "area" no cocktail tables nor chairs. I tried to get a table but they wanted to charge $1000. Service was bad, also be prepared because it charges you a 20% gratuity automatically on every purchase. I was so disappointed I was waiting for a tejano event, too bad I couldn't enjoy it. I had to leave as soon as I walked in.

Ask the Community - Rise Rooftop

Is there any seats for sitting down if one has a General Admission ticket? My wife can't stand for hours.

Couches by the bar is the only option.

Is there an automatic 20% gratuity added to each bar sale? Each sale at the bar?

    Yes

What are bottle prices for the Miguel concert? (Specifically tequilas)?

    Are they open on Sunday's?

    Yes

Hi! I read that on Saturdays you play mainstream/ top 40 music, does this include Latin music like merengue, reggaetón, etc.?

I have only been there for live performances. Perhaps try calling them.

I am 20 will I be able to get in even tho I'm not drinking?

I feel like it depends on the event. If you look at their website, some flyers for concerts are "All Ages" then if you go out .. like a Friday night (best time) it's 21+

    What's the dress code?

    Relaxed - Casual

What kind of music do they play on Saturday nights, is it your typical EDM?

Hi Devon! On Saturday nights we play mainstream, top 40's, hip-hop and some EDM. We do not have local bands here on Saturdays. Hope you will join us soon!

Does the place have a dress code?

Dresscode is upscale and trendy. Baggy jeans, athletic wear, basketball shorts, and clothing with offensive print are not acceptable.

    Is there hookahs?

    Yes

    Is this place 18+?

    It's 21+

The lighting is dark, intimate, and behind every level and door, there is something else going on. There is an element of discovery in every corner and a new adventure on every floor. Ever watch the movie Tron? There are some areas of BCD that feel incredibly futuristic with neon-lit interiors and a legitimate sci-fi feel in some areas. The areas are ass follows: The main bar with a DJ and a spacious dance floor, the red room with a visualizer setup of big bass and pulsating lights, the gold room with a speakeasy feel and a curated cocktail menu, with the secret room that is a unique space behind a certain set of doors. Most of the music on the main bar is good, the DJs are energetic, and the bartenders are efficient while professional. It's not the easiest place to photograph anything, but the different (hidden) spaces make it a worthy destination for discovery. The one area that I don't love is that they rock automatic gratuity. I do love how diverse the crowd is on the weekends, which is a testament to the city. Drinks are solid, but the speakeasy drinks are the ones that stand out the most. The latter definitely comes at a price, but beware that some drinks may have all the presence but not enough of the substance. __________ My photos: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/behind-closed-doors-houston?userid=ysCBsXWPB-LAiewVS3jZfQ

For starters, this is located in the "other" midtown away from the trendy restaurants and bars and literally on the other side of the tracks south of Main. What I'm getting at is it's sketchy as hell. If you park on the street there, there is a pretty good chance it'll get broken into since the street lights have mysteriously been knocked out and you have a large homeless and/or druggie population wandering around. We had a large enough crowd that we decided to walk down there the couple of blocks. Getting in is also interesting since they give you the TSA treatment and get the metal detector out and ask you to empty your pockets while mean mugging you if you don't know which way the entrance is. Inside has the classic beatdown downtown warehouse decor but on the plus side, the AC works, the bathrooms are surprisingly clean (which is why I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1), and in its own way is kind of welcoming if you're not into any of the trendy places. It kind of reminds me of how Houston's alternative scene was in the 90's...not sure what the kids call this nowadays. Then there is the music. It wasn't good. The sound system is muffled and the music selection was pop rock style from like 2007-2012 mostly so even though I am older, I can still say it was lame without sounding like that old guy who hates new stuff. I actually WANTED to hear new stuff and not what I would listen to on Pandora 15 years ago, but apparently the younger and alternative crowd seemed to like it. It's kind of like Numbers Night Club for people who don't like wearing black and think of the 2000's as their 80's? I gotta say though, despite having the scary walk and dealing with frowning security and bartenders who act like they're doing you a favor for letting you in, it's a great place for people watching.

I told her we were fine at the bar, but she insisted and said we didn't need to buy a bottle--just that we could sit and enjoy. We agreed, but as soon as we sat down, she immediately added that we'd have to move if someone came and bought a bottle. That felt misleading and unnecessary, especially considering the club was nearly empty with plenty of open tables. At the bar, things didn't improve. I ordered 2 margaritas and 2 shots, but the bartender poured 4 shots instead. When I politely clarified that we only wanted 2, she refused to take the extras back. To make matters worse, the total tab ended up being over $100--including the extra shots we never asked for. That's unacceptable. Overall, the service was poor, the atmosphere felt low quality, and there was a complete lack of hospitality. It's not surprising they keep rebranding and changing names. There was a guy at the parking lot entrance charging $10 and using a card reader, but there was also a sign in the parking lot that said parking was supposed to be $5 and had a pay station, so idk what that's about, but it didn't seem like a major issue. The venue entrance was basically in the parking lot. With someone there to check tickets/charge entrance all night, it felt like the parking lot would be safe since it was basically being monitored by the door people. The outdoor stage had a really nice vibe with lights and cute decor. I went for a specific dj playing on the 2nd floor though, so I went straight there and enjoyed the music. The ac was blasting on the dance floor. Best ac I've ever experienced at a venue. I don't even think I was sweating, which is unheard of. The sound was also the best out of any venue I've been to, but I was standing in the center of the dance floor with the speakers pointed at me from every direction. The sound wasn't as good outside of those speakers, but I don't remember it being bad. The drink I tried was good, strong, not watered down, but a little pricey. I think a whiskey sour was $16 for one of those smallish plastic cups. Service was quick though and I didn't notice long lines at the bar. Now, for the cons. It was really bright at times. I wish I brought sunglasses. The dance floor felt like it was gonna collapse. You could feel it bouncing up and down because of all the people jumping on it. It made me pretty anxious because of how unstable it felt. The people in the crowd can be too much. This can happen anywhere, but it felt like there were more socially unaware people than other venues because it's open later and probably attracts drunk people wanting to party longer than other venues allow. There were a lot more guys than girls. I'd say maybe 80%. Also a lot of tall people the specific night I went lol that made it even harder to see the dj because the dj booth isn't elevated for some reason. I know the ceiling is low, but PLEASE ELEVATE THE DJ BOOTH. People like to look at the dj, but most people couldn't see him. It makes a huge difference, especially if you're paying a lot for a ticket. All in all, though, the cons weren't that bad and the pros were great! This is now one of my favorite venues to see a dj! I just hope they elevate that dj booth!
