Visited on a Thursday just before noon. Parking was a bit tricky since Rise Coffee shares a lot with a mechanic and the training club it's inside of. The space itself is bright, airy, and has a nice chill vibe with light music and a few tables to sit and work. I came for their fall menu (saw it on Instagram) but was told it had already been discontinued -- a little disappointing since it's still October. I ended up getting the condensed latte instead, and it was honestly delicious. Smooth, balanced, and just sweet enough from the condensed milk. There's only one size for drinks, and mine came to $7.36 after tax, which I think is a bit pricey since it's around a small/tall size at Starbucks or Tim's. Still, great coffee and good vibes overall 4/5

I followed other Yelper's reviews to find this small cafe shop. I totally agree that it's a hidden gem. I would never expect to find a nice cafe in Richmond Hill away from the main plaza and street. It is a café affiliated with the Rise training center. You can see a lot of athletic people come in and out. Nonetheless, most customers are remote workers. Almost all of them carry a laptop and work here. The coffee is nice, and the tea is especially good; matcha and hojicha are definitely worth trying. It has a cozy vibe, I think it's a perfect place if you are a remote worker and want to alter the workspace on and off

Visited this cute little coffee shop. Dog friendly (btw!). A quiet, cozy coffee shop with lots of work space and tables to do independent or group work. It is connected to a private gym. I ordered the forest latte which is a hojicha latte topped with matcha foam. Flavour was toasty, light and topped with a hint of matcha :) once mixed I did personally find that it was very milk forward. Could come through with a little more flavour as I found the milk overpowering drowning out the hojicha and matcha flavour the more it was mixed in. I would definitely come back and try other drinks. Service - friendly and fast. Came in the morning, no line, probably 2 tables were utilized and people working on their laptops. A beautiful lil private gem of a coffee shop. If you're in the area looking to work, or catch up with a friend, or drop by with your dog, come visit!

I'm on a coffee run all the time, so I get excited when I try new cafes especially ones that are not too far away.. lol Randomly found this cafe online, so decided to check it out. The cafe is located on Newkirk Road (commercial area), which is close to the Richmond Hill GO station. The cafe is tucked inside a small gym (and auto) plaza, right next to the RH Food Bank. Parking spaces are very limited too. The cafe was bigger than I thought. What surprised me was the toilet sign. The toilet sign was infront of the gym entrance, so I found it kinda odd lol. Service was great but I stood in line for few minutes because I think one of the trainers wouldn't stop talking and was holding up the line (without ordering). We got the Forest Latte and Iced Americano. I could taste the freshness of the matcha cream, which paired well with the hojicha. I wish they had dirty matcha though..The americano was normal as usual. I think they mainly serve those going to the gym and nearby businesses. I wouldn't have known if I didnt search for nearby coffee shops.

This is a cute little hidden café that's easy to miss, as it's connected to a fitness gym the sign outside says Rise Training Club, but the café is part of the same building. The space can get a bit loud at times because of the gym. We tried a hot latte and an iced latte, both of which were good, the coffee was strong and enjoyable. They do offer Wi-Fi, and we were able to get some work done, though I'd say the environment is better suited for takeout or for relaxing with a friend or small group rather than longer study sessions. The café itself is charming, with a cozy couch, a few small tables, and one larger table. The staff was very friendly, and overall, we had a nice, small study session here.

This place is quite hidden, we almost missed it. Inside, it was clean, bright and calm. The interior was decorated beautifully! There are quite a few tables and seats, as well a couch to sit on. What I really liked about this place is that they had a variety of seats (great for if you want a different vibe). When we walked in, it was just us as customers, so it was nice and quiet. Onto the food: - Maple Tart: the worker reheated it for us, and it was so so good! Not too sweet. - Molasses Cookie: it was nice and chewy and not too sweet. - Cream Matcha Latte: very little matcha flavour, also no sweetener, but the worker was nice and provided us with a little cup of syrup. - Hojicha Latte: very little Hojicha flavour - Earl Grey Cream Tea: We ordered this thinking there would be like an earl grey flavoured cold foam, because it stated cream. To our surprise it was just tea, but that was our fault. We were not aware that there was a tea called earl grey cream. Honestly this ended up being the drink we liked most. If you're going for an aesthetic vibe, this can be a place.

Rise Coffee is a true hidden local find of a coffee shop! It's inconspicuously located in the lobby area of a local gym in an industrial/business park area - a place that even if you drove by, you might not notice it. But enter in, and you are transported to a spacious, boho, minimalist cafe. Think long tables and cozy sofas to sit & work at, and rattan, wooden decor pieces. The owner is super friendly & knows his coffee! I could tell he took time & care in crafting each drink, and while you're not getting the fancy latte art, speciality drinks, or unique espresso roasts to select from, there's something really nice about the simplicity in their coffee. The flavour is full-bodied and balanced, not too acidic or bitter. If I had anything to be concerned about, it would be the very limited parking outside and the potentially noisy environment during times where the gym has classes, given that the cafe area is right outside the gym.

Heard about this cafe for a while and finally came to try. Interior was super nice and spacious. They had a few seats and tables inside so it would be a great place to study or have hangouts. I tried the matcha latte, it was $7.91 after tax, which is a bit pricey but tasted pretty good.

Cute hidden gem. Barista humoured us with a "baby chino" (steamed milk hot chocolate) for our little guy

That level of care really comes through in the cup; you can taste the depth and intentionality in every sip. I ordered the vanilla bean iced latte, and it was easily one of the best espresso bases I've had in a while. The shot itself was rich and layered: deep, chocolatey, and nutty striking a really nice balance between bitterness and acidity. It finished with a smooth, almost creamy note that made the whole drink incredibly enjoyable. The only downside is the size-to-price ratio. At around CAD $8.50 for what felt like a 10 oz drink, it's definitely on the pricier side for something that goes down this easily. Still, I'd absolutely come back when I'm in the mood for a more premium coffee experience. (Funny note - the barista and I had a small rant together about how people order "iced cappuccino" and macchiato expecting Starbucks milk sugary drink instead of the "proper" shot with dollop of foam. I understand their pain hahah)

However, they don't really check on you throughout the meal or ask if you need a refill, you just re-order on the app. At the end, you pay at the front. On to the food and beverages. They have a small bar serving craft coffees and cocktails. I've had the latte there and it's delicious. I also love their sangria. I get it for brunch every time. I've been for both brunch and dinner and loved it. For brunch I got the shrimp cake eggs benedict. I love their shrimp lollipops at dinner, so I knew this would be a hit. The shrimp cake is crispy and delicious and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly with a very balanced hollandaise on top. I like the side of potatoes that are crispy to soak up the yolk and hollandaise. A tossed frisee salad rounds it out with some freshness and brightness. I also had their Banh Mi on another visit and I love their take on it. It has chashu pork belly, and fried chicken that is crispy and juicy. The Vietnamese pickled vegetables, cucumber, and cilantro balance the rich meatiness with some brightness and crunch. Very tasty sandwich. The tuna mashed potato salad is a nice variation on traditional potato salad, and the spring mix salad is a perfect accompaniment. For dinner, I've had the shrimp cake lollipops -- these are just amazing. Crispy and light, but flavorful. With a bit of tartar sauce on the side. We also had the Foie Gras and Chicken Liver Parfait which is luxurious and heavenly. It's layered with berry jelly on top and served with crunchy baguette and house pickled shallots which give it a shot of acid and brightness to offset the richness of the dish. The steak tartare is also delicious, with quail egg, capers, onions and fresh herbs. The star is the crispy dumpling skin its served with. What a fun take on tartare. Lastly, we got the tarragon fried chicken which is crispy, juicy, flavorful and herby. There's really no way you can go wrong having a meal at Chillax and Co!

I originally came here looking for somewhere I could enjoy coffee and Japanese curry, much like…read moreLeBlanc from Persona 5. Yes, that was actually my motivation for finding this place. I ordered the Tori Katsu with Curry, which normally comes with udon. I asked them to remove the noodles since I don't particularly care to load myself up with unnecessary carbs. The katsu was nicely crispy, and I enjoyed the curry. My wife had the Hamburg Omurice with brown sauce, which she ate most of, although I managed to steal a taste. She preferred the brown sauce, but I actually liked the omurice better with the curry from my dish. Here's why. Eggs have a wonderful mouthfeel, especially when cooked properly, but their flavour on their own is rather blah. The curry really brings out and maximizes the flavour of the egg. The brown sauce was fine, but the curry made the whole combination much more interesting. Which brings me to a suggestion for the restaurant, assuming someone there actually reads these reviews. Why not offer a Hamburg Curry Omurice? Combine the hamburg, egg, and curry into one dish. Better yet, offer a version without the mountain of rice for us carnivores who are healthier than those who still think we need to stuff ourselves with carbohydrates. More meat and eggs, less filler. You're welcome. One little detail I appreciated was the subtle Christian reference to John 3:16 in the WiFi information. It's nice to see a business that isn't afraid to show a little of its Christian identity without making a big production out of it. The total came to $50, including taxes and tip, after the cash discount. Considering justinflation, along with people who don't understand economics thinking that raising the minimum wage is somehow a good idea, has helped jack up the prices of practically everything, I would say this wasn't too bad. Would I come back? Absolutely. Perhaps not on a Sunday, though. I normally avoid coffee on Sundays so I can sleep in more, which is rather unfortunate considering that coffee and curry were the whole reason I looked for this place in the first place. Next time I'll make sure it's a coffee day so I can properly enjoy their Americano alongside the curry and get that LeBlanc experience I originally came looking for. Now, about that Hamburg Curry Omurice. Seriously, put it on the menu.

I found these cake slices, I think it was 3.99 or 4.99 each and as I wanted to try a few things I picked 2 flavours. I tried the pistachio one and a berry one (sign said red velvet but I think it was incorrect as it tasted like a mixed berry cake). I really liked the berry one! It was a good mix of being not too sweet, a good flavour profile and not being too dry due to the jam like top. The pistachio one was a bit on the dry side, it was good but I would say that I would gravitate towards the berry one if I had to pick. The staff were really nice and they also had some hot drinks, I think they were close to closing as everything was turned off but I would like to try it in the future. As a relatively new neighbourhood, it is serene and immaculate. The café itself is small and cozy, with charming interiors, including a wall of faux cacti behind the seating area. I adored the palette: warm and inviting, refreshingly free of the affected pretension that besets so many boutique cafés these days. On the barista's recommendation, I ordered the iced tiramisu latte, whose cold foam is evidently a favourite among regulars. It was surprisingly light and refreshing, the house-blend espresso settling nicely over the milk and lending a subtle nuttiness, never bitter or harsh. That said, I do prefer my espresso drinks bolder and more velvety. The pricing leans steep: $7.50 after tax for an eight-ounce drink. Still, the barista was delightfully gracious, and the space is so welcoming and restorative that I left unbothered.
