The best clam chowder I've ever had.
    Kate K.

I live 1.5 hours away from this place and let me tell you, I went once while at the beach and then again the very next day. I also drove out here just for a Sunday lunch. ITS THAT GOOD. The prices are reasonable for what you get. The service was amazing. Sat at the bar every single time. Carlos and the pecan tan Tom Selleck mustache bartender (sorry didn't catch your name) were amazing. Coming from someone who works in hospitality that's the first thing I notice. The service. SPOT ON. Do not skip the clam chowder. I repeat DO NOT skip the clam chowder. It was unbelievably good with bacon or pork in it? Gave it a smoky flavor. Unreal. So good. The Caesar dressing tastes homemade but can't be sure. The oyster combo and baked oysters were the best. Not overcooked like most places and tiny. Just done PERFECTLY. I'd like to take a second to talk about the stuffed grouper. I've never had anything so good. And I'm not even a grouper fan. Wow. One star is missing bc on the next night I decided to try the "famous" steak tips. Nope. As a cook I know what happened. They were marinating in a Worcestershire or type marinade which almost cures/dries the meat and once you cook it, it dries out fast. They were like leather but I didn't complain bc my fat husband ate them and they didn't go to waste. But you can't call something famous and have it be bad. No pictures of the super dry steak tips because honestly who wants to see that? Anyway, we'll be back. My fav restaurant on the east coast!

The food here was amazing! The oysters were very fresh and nice in size. I sat at the bar and was greeted quickly by Carlos, the bartender. I ordered two drinks, a cup of clam chowder, a dozen oysters and the rumicane shrimp. I 100% suggest the rumicane shrimp! They were so good, I ordered some togo as well. The service was quick, my food came out hot and in less than 15 mins from ordering. The clam chowder was a 4/5, I think it was lacking a bit of flavor and the potato chunks were a bit large. It was still good but I might try something else instead. The cocktail sauce mmmehhh... not the best, taste a bit too much like ketchup. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and will definitely suggest this place.

Food was so delicious, had a great dinner with my family there! Service was great but not over bearing but always watching incase you need something. The ambiance was of a great seafood beach spot. Also they have live music outside, very nice!! Great place!!

Amazing food, everything we had was fresh and flavorful. We started off with the chicken nachos, had a nice island twist. We had the snapper and the pineapple rice with chicken and shrimp skewers. I preferred the shrimp over the chciken. Loved the presentation and it tasted even better. Absolutely devoured the hush puppies. Our server was attentive and patient. The restaurant was busy, but very clean and well maintained.

The restaurant is normal, nothing particularly unique. But basically functional, casual, and beachy. We had some relaxing live music... just an overall great beach experience. Riptides has a full bar and many adorable craft cocktail offerings. I went for the house margarita (several) which were excellent! While I normally wait until later to type my reviews, today I am growing old waiting on my grandson to finish his all-you-can-eat crab legs. We came here for Mother's Day, 8 of us. 2 had the AYCE crab legs which they both say were phenomenal. I had blackened red snapper. A couple of us had popcorn shrimp which were crisp and fresh and tasty. Two got the NY Strip and it was cooked (rare) and amazing--and that is saying A LOT for a seafood restaurant. Our server was Dillon and I cannot say enough good things about him. With 2 people on the AYCE menu, he never missed a lick! Nobody ran out of drink. Nobody ran out of food. Our AYCE diners didn't have to sit around and wait on the next serving. Dillon was always one step ahead of us, super upbeat and friendly, and the show never stopped. While several of the menu items are market price-- cha-ching--it is totally worth the extra chub.

Riptides Raw Bar & Grill is an excellent choice if you're looking for great seafood! While vacationing in Daytona Beach, we decided to give this local gem a try, and it was conveniently located just a short distance from our hotel. Upon arrival, the restaurant has a casual beachy feel and ambiance. The service was good and it was plenty of seating and not a wait. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the mixed drinks were good as well. They offer a wide variety of seafood dishes and platters, but we came specifically for the oysters, and they did not disappoint. The oysters were fresh, flavorful, and a great size. One of the unexpected highlights was the sauce served with the coconut shrimp. It was so good that we started dipping everything in it! Honestly, it's delicious enough that they could sell it. Overall, we had a great experience from start to finish. If you're in the Daytona Beach area and craving seafood, Riptides Raw Bar & Grill is definitely worth a visit. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in town.

Absolutely amazing lunch at Riptides Raw Bar & Grill! I had the grouper fish tacos and they were hands down some of the best I've ever had -- fresh, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and beautifully put together. You can really taste the quality. Erin, our server, was an absolute rockstar. Attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Great service truly makes a difference, and she nailed it. Between the delicious food, the great atmosphere, and top-notch service, this was such an enjoyable lunch. I'll definitely be back!

Amazing! Great food from steak tips, hamburger to great snow crab legs , shrimp and redfish!

The food is always amazing and fresh!! The hush puppies were fried to perfection, popcorn shrimp was very flavorful, and the coleslaw I actually really did enjoy. Fries were good but still okay, a little hard but wasn't terrible. The only thing I would change was the service. I ordered a Pina Colada and never got my drink the whole time I was there. I told the waitress to just forget about putting it in since she wasn't that attentive anyway. Great food though

My stuffed grouper was amazing and according to my boyfriend it was "fire!". Our drinks were great and I have a piggybank coconut head to take home ($21 with alcoholic drink in it). The burger was a burger and he said it was nothing too exciting but wasn't bad either. The gator bites were cooked well but once again nothing too exciting with the seasoning. Overall, it was a good experience and definitely would try some more fish, other items there again! Our waiter was great and very on top of things!

Our first time here and the food was delicious. Excellent service & definitely will be back . We came here for welcome to Rockville for the weekend & this place rocks.

We were pleasantly surprised by Riptides. We go to New Smyrna Beach almost every weekend and see their advertising on the plane. But it's farther north than we typically like to travel. Today we were on an adventure and realized how close we were to the restaurant and took it as a sign. Where is parking is limited and expensive they have plenty of free parking across the street. We sat in the porch area and it could not have been better. Tyler was our server. He mentioned he was new but had he not mentioned it we would have never known. He was great! Just attentive enough and made sure we had everything we needed. We order the mild wings and the conch fritters for appetizers. Both were fantastic! The wings had a great grilled flavor and the fritters were just chewy enough. The dip that came with the fritters was delicious too. We shared the beach platter fried. It was really hard to determine which was our favorite. I said the conch fritters my husband said the shrimp crab cakes. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed all of it! The outside area was perfect. We sat in the sun and it was the beach day vibe I was going for. We are local-ish 1 county north but it felt like we were on vacation. It was just what we needed today and we certainly be back! Oh and even though almost everything we ordered was ''market price" we felt like everything was reasonably priced. Thanks Tyler!

Upon walking in my husband and I were greeted by the hostess and you'll see a big chalkboard with their weekly specials. We were sat in the back by a window so it was nice to have a view. Everything looked good on the menu. We started off with shrimp and some oysters and the oysters were topped with collard greens and cheese they were good but the oysters were just HUGE! For my entree I had a shrimp po'boy with a side of the bacon collards again they were really good. My only issue is that for my po'boy the bread was not a roll but it was still satisfying. My husband had the fish platter with grouper and trigger fish with fries and coleslaw. We absolutely loved the grouper it reminded me of red snapper. However we will be back and I love a cutie, rustic looking restaurant.

I contacted Eric on the recommendation of my Aunt and am sure glad I did. I had been trying for months to get a catering company that would listen to what we needed and make a custom menu for under 5k. These guys did just that. What we ended up with was three entrees (salmon, alfredo, and jerk chicken), roasted veggies, salad of our choice and rolls. When I had reached out to competitors, the most we could get was a salad and chicken. That was of course before up charges and requiring things such as a buffet lead server per hour which put it most times in the $4500-5500 range when the dust settles. E and A did all that was mentioned for the out the door cost for meal, serving, and bartender of $3200 and we had plenty of extra so the relatives could take home. Another option they let us take care of is the purchasing of the alcohol and the garnishes. This was wonderful as we knew exactly what we wanted for our custom bar menu and this saved us again at least 2k in costs compared to others. Looking at my costs for it, we spent $900 for all of the needed components and not one catering offered for us to do this for less than 2k and that's before the hourly charge for the bartender. E and A didn't do this nickel and dime like tactics and it worked out great as we were able to get a bulk discount through Total Wine. Now the important part, the day of food, service, bartending, and communication throughout. The crew arrived early and were on top of it from the get go. If you ever want to feel stressed, plan a wedding. Our venue gave us a quick set up time before the downbeat of the ceremony, however, this didn't phase them. I could tell from the get go they were confident in their own abilities and got to work. Upon arrival Aaron told me that his Jerk Chicken was the thing of legend. Now most times, you hear that sort of thing and think, "Ya, sure!" But let me tell you by the end of the night, it was. My family is still talking about it weeks later. During the event both of the guys made sure both my wife were at ease and well fed through out. This was a concern coming into the day and it was a non issue, they checked in with us multiple times throughout the night and made sure we were well feed with food, appitizers, and drink. This was a game changer and I cannot thank them enough. Then enter stage right, Ms Karina. Karina the bartender was great and a great sport all night as I'm sure my family reminded her, "Did you know that the bride's name is Katrina, that's almost like Karina!" i digress though were she came in was in her mixology. Karina knew her stuff and made wonderful drinks for all and took every order in stride to our multiple mixed drink menu. However, this is not where that story stops, towards the end of the night Karina was cleaning up and my groomsman and close friends all wanted a picture with the married couple as well as doing a shot with all. Karina could tell we were excited and offered to pour the drinks for us but also volunteered to be the defacto photographer for the moment as our photographer had already left. What resulted was one of my favorite group of pictures from the night and I'm forever grateful for Karina being up for anything. Last but not least Chef Eric and Chef Aaron provided the highlight of our night and surprisingly it didn't involve the food. About midway through the night as the dancing started to die out a bit, Aaron and Eric took maters into their own hands. They had the DJ queue up a song and led upwards of 50 people in a dance. It kept the vibes high and is something that was no where in their job description but is something we'll always remember. If you don't believe me, please check out a short video of this happening in real time provided by our dj. All this is to say if you need catering, look no further. Now I just need to get some more of that Jerk Chicken come Christmas time for 10-15 of us. Thank you E and A crew! https://youtu.be/daJ4BnJifCw?feature=shared
