This tiny little Tiki Bar located off of Scott Street on the broadwalk Hollywood Beach is one of my favorite outdoor tiki bars on Hollywood Beach. Usually a singing classic guitar player that varies from day to day. Though never too loud. And the small crowd of 30 to 40 people often sing along with the true classics. Like 'Sweet Caroline" Choice of in the sun, or under the tiki. Along with a typical outdoor tiki bar food menu. But always a great group of patrons that feel like family, even though you may have never met. read more

A stop at Riptide is a must whenever we have visitors in town. After a long walk on the broadwalk, it's the perfect place for a cold beverage. They are one of the few places that almost always has live music, which draws people in as they're walking by. Be aware that sometimes things can get crowded at the bar, so you may have to wait for your drink. My only recommendation would be more staff on crowded days. I've never had their food so cannot speak to it. We love coming here for the tiki hut vibes, cold beer, and live music! read more

I had a really good time here. They have a live performer that is fantastic. I think he is called Chopper. He is one talented performer. I really like his choices of songs. This is one lively place. The place has out side sitting. Its nicely spaced and sitting inside. The sitting inside requires you to wear a mask. All the workers here are wearing a mask. I had a chicken quesadilla. I liked it. It had a lot of cheese which I loved. The flavor were good. It came with plastic silverware and a napkin inside a bag individually wrapped. They had condiments in little containers too. They made me feel safe. I also had a strawberry daiquiri. I am not a drinker. I liked it. It was one hot day and a drink was just perfect. My drink was light but refreshing. It was crazy busy. I am going to leave a bad review. First, the desk clerk finally got off the phone and checked us in. She told us we were in room 25. After looking for room 25 on 2 floors, I went back to the office to find out it's on the second building. We went there and the key didn't work. She gave us the wrong key, and laughed about it. The room was so shabby, I wouldn't sit on the dirty, cloth couch. The bureau looked from the 50s, and not in a chic manner. Think sears catalog, 1950. The table and chairs was an old rickety card table. The worst part was the bed. The mattress was covered in plastic, without a mattress pad. Are we toddlers? We were two couples on a long layover at Fort Lauderdale airport and decided to leave and go have some fun.We came to Riptide and had a blast and we highly recommend a day or night here. The live entertainment was awesome, our bartender was so fun and we danced until we couldn't dance anymore. Drinks were so reasonably priced and the vibe was just what we were looking for. Everyone was friendly, enjoying themselves and all out to have a good time. The hotel itself doesn't look very fancy, but they have the best entertainment on the boardwalk.The area looked fun and the beach was clean and beautiful. There is parking available but we did Uber so not sure of availability or cost. The four of us truly could not have had a better time waiting for our connecting flight to the Caribbean. This is a place that veterans feel welcomed and appreciated as we met several and it was an honor. We will definitely come back here when we are in town again. Cheers! read more

The room was clean and modern. But our room location was horrible. They gave us rm 6 lower level directly in front of the bar and restaurant. Every time we opened our door we inhaled cigarettes and marijuana smoke that left the stench in our hair and clothes for the rest of the day. I was 1 or 2 two nights ago, 11/13/2021. I could not believe when the bartender served me a Heineken in the bottle, I paid for it and gave her a tip. I was a few feet away and take as sip and I realized, hey, this beer is hot. I came back to the bar, and the lady was very busy, and I politely told her my beer was hot. She looked at me and shrugged her shoulders and blamed the barback. she said, "Hey, the barback just restocked all my beers and now all I have is warm beer". Everyone around me started laughing. I said, well, can I have anything that is cold? She said "Again, everything was restocked just now and all I have is warm beer" I was shocked. So she knowingly served me warm beer. Others started asking for ice to pour their warm beers over. This lady is very selfish. She just wanted her tips and did not give a damn that she was giving everyone hot beer. Also, I talked to a regular. His mane is "Mike". He said the barback is very lazy and always on his phone in the back. Well guess what. When I did a google street view, there he was! In the back on his cell phone! The owner needs to have a talk with the bartender, and fire the barback. The bartender would be close to be fired too in my opinion. The riptide is clean but has many problems they turned our water off for a whole day on our second night for some construction which was very loud and it was late enough to wind down on a Monday. We couldn't cook in our room(9) because the stove didn't work so they had to give us a key to another vancant room to cook. Towel service was subpar we had to go and ask. Then it was raining for 2 days and there was a flood and tornado warning which is not the hotels fault but what is the hotels fault is the hole in the roof where water was leaking the shower drain was gross. But the nice things about the hotel was that it's on the beach the tiki bar food is pretty good and Brian and Ryan were super nice and kept helping us with our luggage and when my Tia had to go down the stairs in a wheelchair the place isn't very wheelchair friendly but it was okay because she only has a leg injury and can hop on one foot parking is scarce on the one way street but not so bad unless it's raining like it has been. We got 3 different room keys but they never let us switch rooms only gave us keys to borrow we got 2 days comped out of the 5 it is a no smoking property I put pictures also our ceiling fan light didn't work just the lamp beside the bed and kitchen light read more

This review is for the service we received from Tina on Friday 11-11-22. Her first words to me, my husband and my 82 year old Aunt was : Don't waste the napkins! I'll get that. We sat down, she brought ONE menu and my husband order a bucket of beer. Over 30 minutes went by and all the beers were gone and Tina had not been back to our table. I asked my husband to go get her to take our order, but my husband wind up placing our drinks and food order through Heather behind the bar. When Tina saw what was going on, she came over and we explained our frustration, so Tina turns to me and says: YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IS LIKE TO WORK UNDERSTAFFED!!!!! 1- I was wasting your napkins because my 82 year old Aunt is recovering from cancer to which she still has an open hole on her belly and she needed to sit down, and your table was dirty and the water condensation had run on the chairs, so yes, I wasted your napkins drying out the chair and the table. 2- First you must serve all your customers before you take a meal break. 3- I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, and so I do know how stressful it is to be constantly understaffed, and that is why I no longer work in restaurant. 4- What I DO NOT UNDERSTAND is how comfortable Tina feels about being extremely rude to us for no reason at all. All my years dealing with customers, I was never rude to a customer because it was my choice to be in the position I was in, and all the pain the behind customers I served were not responsible for my misery. Furthermore, they allowed me to provide a good life for myself and for my kid. You don't have to do this, Tina! But whatever you do, stay away from people. read more

The music is great but the bartender needs a reminder that's it's inappropriate and rather unsanitary to play with her Wet hair while making people's drinks. She had her hair braided, she pulled the braid out, played with her damp hair for several minutes, the rebraided her hair without washing her hands afterwards, then poured a drink and stuck her hands in the fruit to garnish. We decided to stop in on Saturday for a bite to eat before the Candy Cane parade. Our server, Dina was amazing. She didn't stop moving the whole time we were there. The bar was slammed and the bartender was non stop too. We ate the Philly steak and it was delicious. Dina suggested it, as it was just added to the menu. She also suggested the hamburger that was mouth watering. We will definitely be back. Probably have a staycation at Riptide for our anniversary. read more

Okay this is not a nice hotel. I'm just being honest. The vibe, the ocean view and the bar downstairs was fun. My husband and I had a great time despite the grittiness of this hotel. We thought at $275 a night it was going to be decent like Hampton inn standards/Marriott as it's not super cheap but it was clear when we pulled up that we were essentially at a motel. Everyone smokes at Hollywood beach it's kinda crazy and especially around this "hotel" they say no smoking in the rooms but people clearly do bc our bathroom smelled of cigarettes. The bed was awful. Squeaky and some type of plastic underneath. The fact that they had a decent size fridge and a couple burners to cook was a park we didn't take advantage of. At night the sheets were so thin and we were cold and so we grabbed the blanket from the closet-immediately I screamed when my husband put it on the bed! It smelled of urine. We told The hotel staff the next day and they seemed unphased. The reason I'm not giving 1 star is because my husband & I leaned into the experience, enjoyed the reasonably priced drinks at the bar, live band and had fun at the beach. We slept terribly but had fun! I'd come back to Hollywood but would not stay here again. I'd come back to their bar though :) read more

The hotel was not worth the money. We experienced a view from a filthy window (essentially no view), broken down couch, sewer smells from the kitchen sink, blood spot on shower caulking, saggy bed and dirty bathroom fixtures. Luckily, the perks were being beachfront and all of the restaurants and bars are close. We liked the location. The pictures on their site and not reflective of what you will experience. I was more disappointed because they portray it as something really amazing....it is subpar. I would stay again if it was 80.00 a night but for the prices they charge...you can find better. read more

Dreaming of Hollywood -- Hollywood, FL that is! I just returned from a relaxing 5 days, all sunny and gorgeous, at the Riptide Hotel. I really enjoyed how friendly and attentive all the staff were! I had a very comfy, clean room with a great view of the boardwalk and the ocean (walk to beach is 50 feet!). The kitchenette was complete with dishes & utensils, a 2-burner stove top, full-size fridge & microwave. Bathroom, albeit small, is bright with no shortage of towels, and the room's AC really cools you off after the beach! Oh, they also serve up some yummy sandwiches, salads, nachos and much more down at the Tiki Bar. Their pizza is great! My sincere thanks to Raven, Sarah, & Liz - they kept me happy and smiling, always at the ready with an ice cold beer or refreshing pina colada, among other choices. They hooked me up with a free bike to cruise the boardwalk and they know all the best local joints to hit! At the Tiki Bar, there's a sing along with Ritchie, or one of the many other talented daily entertainers featured there. All great performers who draw large crowds from the boardwalk & beach. People get "cray cray in the Tiki" lol You know, you just don't get this kind of service & attention at the big hotel chains. What you DO get is twice the room price (at least) plus extra charges for all the amenities (beach chairs; bikes {if available}; & parking). The Riptide Hotel does charge a very low fee of $10 daily for parking, but that's no where near the going rate for beach parking that's only 30 feet from the sand! The Riptide may not be a high end luxury property, but they sure made my stay luxurious! I'll be seeing you guys again very soon to be sure! Tips : go to Wings Beach Supply for your beach needs (spf, glasses, toys for the kids, souvenirs); and for great Mexican - TacoSpot; and you must visit Nick's Bar & Oceans 13. All only a short stroll down the boardwalk. Then there's Tarks which is a local favorite clam-hut for great, fresh seafood at terrific prices only a short drive from the hotel. Man, I miss Hollywood and the Riptide already now that I'm back in NYC where it's cold! read more

Room remote missing in the back and a battery,alarm clock unplugged remnants of the last guest open shampoo bottle sand just a nasty room with no ventilation should be $50 bucks a night at the most because it's facing the ocean. Hotel part to it was pretty good, not too many complaints. A very convenient spot down the boardwalk which happens to be less crowded. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone who is staying for longer than 4 days because they do have a stove and full size fridge so it's pretty convenient if you do not want to go out for food constantly. The Bar part of it was pretty good, drinks were good and pretty decently priced. My favorite were the mojitos and frozen cocktails. My friends and I spent a glorious day on Hollywood Beach, and a long walk on the Broadwalk made us thirsty. A tiki bar facing the ocean sounded like the perfect place to hang out in the late afternoon. The place was pretty busy, and some of the more inebriated customers made for some interesting people-watching/conversation. The bartenders were friendly, and they had a good-sounding band whose music fit in perfectly with the laid-back vibe of the place. Our drinks were cheap (it was either $3 or $4 for a Yuengling draft, and $4 for a pina colada) and well-made. My pina colada was fresh and not from a mix, and the beer didn't have that watered-down taste you sometimes get when it's a draft. After spending two hours or so here, I felt like I'd been on vacation for a few days. It was a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon, and I hope I get the chance to go back sooner rather than later. read more

From the website this place looks great, but that's a different story when you arrive. Spent 3 night at this hotel April 24-26, 2018. All I can say is run, get a different hotel. First of all the Office door is about to fall of the hinges. Got to our room number 26 and the smell of bug spray would kill anything. The bathroom and TUB LOOKED LIKE IT HADN'T BEEN CLEANED IN 3 YEARS. The mattress was so disgusting and OLD. And I was told they really don't have a LIQUOR LICENSE BUT THEY SELL YOU LIQUOR WITH MADE UP STUFF IN IT. ONLY HAVE A BEER AND WINE LICENSE. Our room had been clean in 2 days so I HAD TO GO TO THE OFFICE AND ASK, YES ASK THEM TO CLEAN OUR ROOM. PLACE IS DISGUSTING!!!! read more
