This is a clean, nice gym. Has free weights, treadmills, stair masters, weight machines, and so much more. When I signed up It was located near my home. They have relocated on Doak blvd. New location is clean and nice, further from my home. What I really like about this gym is it's open 24 hours. The owner has security cameras installed and fob only entry for members. This allows him to keep the gym open 24 hour without having to staff it. ...keeps membership costs down. The owner, Mike, is a no nonsense guy BUT he is nice. If you're going to be...difficult, he will not take your abuse. There is no tolerance of members inappropriate behaviors towards other members or abuse of property. I would recommend this gym for individuals who are serious about exercising. read more

I would just like to receive my change please. that is money that is owed me. I actually texted Jay on January 21 requesting my change. he told me to contact you so I did, then you told me to contact him so we just played back-and-forth. My daughter is not a liar. I told her that everything is on video and to make sure that she didn't take it and just to let me know if she did, and she said she never saw anything with her name on it. so either it wasn't put out or somebody else took it. Its not even about the amount. I don't care about $16 I don't even care if it's $1. It's money that is owed to me. if you say that you put the money out on the window and it was gone the next day, My daughter didn't even go to the gym until a week after we signed up. read more

Mike S (The Owner) is incredibly rude and immature. It's embarrassing to see his kind of tactics and business practices in our community... unfortunately, he offers the only 24/7 gym in town, so some clients are willing to settle for his poor service. My wife and I called it quits after less than a month of membership though, and found a much better accommodation 12 min away in Manteca thankfully. Unfortunately, he's playing hard ball regarding the refund, despite confirming in writing that he was going to issue a full refund for unused months. good riddance. I usually don't write reviews like this FYI, but his poor business conduct demands some attention to ensure others are made aware before signing up. Love the wide range of equipment they have, never too busy even around 4-6 pm, and you always feel safe here!

Many great things about this gym.....only negative is that I wish some members could be made aware that this is not a "power lifting" gym. Just about everyday at 6pm (till about 8pm) there's a group that comes in and all rotate on the same machines and use about 50% of the 45lb plates and load up the machines with them. Nothing against their capabilities to throw that weight up but some awareness and mindfulness of the available weights and proper equipment uses on their part would be nice for the others using the gym at the same time. read more

Amazing gym for the great price! The gym has great owners who really care for there members, and have answered many requests. Ripon Fitness is still getting further developed and is adding many machines which makes it much more better. Finally the best part is that the gym is 24 hours and makes it convenient for everyone! read more

If I can give this 0/5 stars I would, the owner is completely unprofessional and will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. I have been a member of this gym for about 2 years and have always paid for a year in advance without an issue. My wife (who has a separate account with the gym) found out we were expecting and she stopped going to the gym because she has been having a hard pregnancy. Her yearly payment ended in April and she stopped using it back in March and quite frankly forgot to let them know she was not going to renew her yearly contract. As I tried to enter the gym today, my key fob was locked out (even though I paid for a year back in April) and his reason for it was that my wife (whose account is not connected to mine) didn't pay for the last couple months). He stated he locked my fob out of the gym "to get my attention" because I didn't respond to an email from him only 3 days prior. His business with my wife is totally separate from mine and I felt that it has nothing to do with my account and access to the gym. He stated he's going to keep my remaining balance to cover my wife's account balance (again, is not connected to my account). He was completely unprofessional with this whole issue and I will be signing up for the new gym in town called "The Den" at the old location. read more

If I could give the owner/manager 0 stars, I would. I can't speak for the e gym itself, as I never had the opportunity to sign up for it and definitely will NOT. i messaged the owner that I was new to Ripon and wanted to sign up, in which he replied and told me to message his manager, Jay. Great, no problem! I message Jay at 11 am and don't get a response till about 7 pm. People get busy, I understand, so I didn't think anything of it. I then told him that I looked at the site and was interested in signing up. No reply until a phone call the next day. I went to answer my phone after getting back from a walk with my 5 month old, and my phone died. I immediately plugged my phone back in so I could get into contact as I was eager to sign up. He answers the phone with the most inconvenient tone and says "hello" sarcastically. I was still polite and let him the know the circumstance as to why I wasn't able to answer the call. He replied with thee most condescending answer, where both my boyfriend and I's jaw dropped. His answer as to my phone dying was "well that's not an excuse". I hung up immediately. I was BEYOND baffled that a business manager had such aggression towards a prospective customer. I read all the reviews and saw photos of texts/emails, however I still wanted to give this place a shot. Absolutely not. I will gladly drive to Manteca or Modesto, than to support such a demeaning and impolite business. read more

I contacted the owner via text message and he directed me to text his manager of the gym. I texted the manager and he proceeded to call me. I am a school teacher and cannot answer the phone during school hours but told him I could text message. He tried to call me again, and again I told him that I could only talk via text message. He then calls me at 4 o'clock and proceeds to text me how he has tried calling, it's after school and I'm still not answering. I'm sorry, Anyone knows that school teachers don't leave school just because it was time for the kids to go home. It was extremely rude how he text me that especially how I tried to talk via text MULTIPLE times. I then sent him a message letting him know it was unprofessional how he was speaking to me and rude. He did not respond. I reached out to the owner to let him know of the situation, no response. I reached out multiple times after to try and meet at the gym to sign up for a membership, either got no response or just "no". Finally, the manager texts me and says that he is not going to be able to help me at this time. I ask why and he says it's a decision by himself and the owner. I was trying to support a small business and try and better myself by starting a new journey. Was only greeted with rude/sarcastic responses or was ignored by the owner and manager. It seems that this isn't the first time that this owner/manager has had difficulties in how they speak with either existing customers or potential customers. ***AFTER WRITING THIS REVIEW I RECEIVED A TEXT MESSAGE FROM MANAGER STATING THAT THIS BUSINESS THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE, FOR ANY REASON....this is true, but when you refuse service because you got called out on your poor professionalism that's the problem I have. And then to lie about what actually happened is the other problem. Will post text***** REPLY TO HIS MESSAGE: I never responded to the numerous times he texted? I will post my entire thread. Each time he called, I texted within 5 minutes trying to set up a time to which he did not respond to. Wanna say I'm lying? Here's the entire thread. Secondly, nobody is butt hurt. But when you try and support small business and are met with rude interactions, it's upsetting. Ripon is a small town and is built on relationships. You and your partner gave me ZERO opportunity. I will also post the text thread with you to show that you didn't respond after I reached out about the incident. I'm a special education teacher and have compassion for everyone. I fret posting because it looks like the management can't take criticism and goes on a verbal rampage when criticized. I was a member twice at the old location before moving out of the area (just moved back) and appreciated the convenience of accessing a gym 24 7, however, I agree with comments regarding a certain creepy tone to the place, e.g., when I went every tv was set to Fox News, there was no balance or provision for diverse view points, I would have appreciated some tvs on Fox and some on CNN, some on CNBC, etc., and there were many signs posted that gave of an air of high control )similar to the management responses on YELP) regarding multiple ways members might get kicked out. I felt like i had to walk on egg shells to be a member. I don't think businesses should mix political ideology, control, and coerciveness using the law of supply and demand as a form of extortion which was my impression. I haven't checked out the new location, and would guess now that I've expressed a negative viewpoint I'd be banned. It's like going to work with an unreasonable boss but everyone tolerates him or her because they're the boss and hold the power, albeit, maybe a little abusive with it at times. Used to go to this gym a couple of years ago when i worked in Ripon.. Surprised it's still open.. The last experience i had with the owner Mike was not so positive. If you can go to the In Shape on 120 a few miles away, it's worth the 5 minute drive. The owner kind of ruins it read more

I hate to be mean here, but the owner has issues. I think everyone already kind of knows that, but we all just put up with it because he's the only gym in town. So here's my story...I tried to sign up through Jay a few months and he said he couldn't because he was in the tow truck. Ok, no biggie right? So I texted Mike to see if he could help me sign up since I wasn't having any luck with Jay. Mike told me Jay was having phone trouble, to which I replied, "and apparently car trouble too." You see, I didn't know Jay drove a tow truck...I just figured he couldn't sign me up because he was having car trouble. Mike replied telling me to go find a different gym. Seriously? I sent Mike the screenshot of my convo with Jay to justify why I said that. Nothing. I never heard from Mike again. I think that tells you everything you need to know about Mike as a business owner. Keep in mind, this is the guy who is on the other end of all those cameras that cover every angle of his gym. Unfortunately he is the only gym in Ripon right now (which is why it's so overpriced). It's not that big of a deal just to drive 5 minutes down the road to Manteca. Hopefully someday we'll have a good gym in town to compete with him. read more

I am a recent member. I truly enjoy the 24/7/365 availability of the gym. The gym is well maintained and the members are polite. The signing process was easy and appointments were met and kept. They communicate well via email and text. I would highly recommend if you want a quite and well kept gym! read more

Really nice clean private gym. Everyone is friendly and the gym is well maintained. I've been a member for about six months. I love the fact that it's open 24/7/365 so I can work out whenever is good for me. Dealing with Mike and Jay during the sign up process was a breeze. The gym is clean, maintenance issues get fixed in a timely manner and the owner keep you abreast of any situations that may come up. This isn't your typical hang out and socialize while taking gym selfies kind of place. Owner Mike is a straight shooter. Only complaint, no shower. read more

The owner is incredibly rude. We cancelled our membership in January 2017 but after noticing that the credit card was still being charged, I called and left a voicemail. Received no response, called again and received no response. I decided to email him and this is the response I received. I called my credit card company and found out he did refund the money on the 9 of May. However he never called to let me know and his response is the most unprofessional I've ever experienced from a business owner. read more
