Almost every time I'm there, I see staff actively cleaning the floors, wiping down machines, and making sure equipment stays sanitary. It's clear that they're putting effort into keeping the place clean and comfortable for members. Another thing that stands out is how friendly and welcoming the staff is. Everyone at the front desk is polite and helpful, and they always greet people when they walk in. The three manager ladies who are usually there especially deserve a shoutout--they're always professional, approachable, and doing a great job keeping things running smoothly. You can tell they genuinely care about the gym and the members. There are plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, cable machines, squat racks, benches, and free weights, so it's easy to get a full workout without feeling limited.

My toddler locked herself and my infant son in my car, I ran back into the gym and Shawn immediately jumped into action and was able to call a locksmith he personally knew who arrived within minutes. All while helping calm me down and making my toddler smile. I love having a place for my kiddos to play while I can workout and have a little bit of time for myself. My kids love going to the kids zone, especially when Cayla or Landon are working. So grateful for this gym!

Community is a big deal here, and building it is one of the main focuses of the gym. The coaches are also great at providing knowledgeable/personalized feedback. I know people are hesitant to invest in a CrossFit membership ($$) but coming from someone who's paid for multiple gym memberships and barely used them, this one is definitely worth it. The value is in having a whole community help push you towards your fitness goals. So many days I didn't feel like training but then started working out with friends and all of a sudden, it's like you're playing a game. Everyone is beyond friendly here and finding people willing to suffer through a WOD with you is pretty easy. If you want to have fun and improve your health and fitness in the process, I'd definitely recommend Excel for you.

The 30 minute circuit room, that yellow room in the back- employees should be monitoring this area and making sure members are utilizing it CORRECTLY. This is supposed to be a quick circuit, completed in order. I use this room every time I go here and not one time have I been able to compete the circuit IN ORDER and not one time have I been able to use every single machine in the circuit due to other members just sitting on these machines on their phones. This is not a break area. This is a quick circuit area. Members here have the WORST gym etiquette I've ever seen and staff turns a blind eye.

But those of us who pay about $25 for the Black Card amenities are jipped! i love that thete are a HUGE amount of cardio TREADMILLS to choose from, but that's pretty much it! There are Elipticals and the bikes. Don't like those. Every other Stairclimber is broken and they have been for the last month and a half since i've joined. Along with that, every other weight machine is broken also and have been for weeks!! What really did it for me today (Friday May 22)? I like to use the amenities, which include the hydro-bed and the stand up tanning booths. And today I couldn't use them! There is ONE infrared booth that they keep saying it's broken. But that's been for a whole month and a half it's been down. So I use the stand up tanning booths. Tanning booth #1 is just fine, but #2 doesn't have enough cooling with the fans! You can only stand being in there for 3 minutes before you start boiling! Something is VERY wrong there! Today, when I asked to use #1booth, the gentleman told me #1 is down! WHAAAT!!?? EVEN THE LAY DOWN TANNING BED IS OUT!?? I was NOT interested in boiling for 3 minutes in #2!!!! And there's only one hydro-bed in use, because the other ones, as one of the girls told me, they were "overheating" and are down! This is a horrible disservice that this particular Planet Fitness is doing to their members! I do understand things break down. But my gosh, why does it take so long to get it fixed?? Not to mention the filthy women's dressing room ( there were globs of hair and crumbs from what looks like chips on the floor under the changing room bench) as well as the big glob of hair that was in the walkway as you enter the black card membership glass entrance. The big fan was swirling it around, and all I can think of was yuck! I went to the Tracy Planet Fitness today and my goodness, the difference is night and day! It's cleaner! I went into their tanning booth and man....it was CLEAN and not to mention a lot bigger! I KNOW it was clean because you could smell the formula that they put in the spray bottles. and it was very evident. I'll be driving from Lathrop to Tracy for now on. I would not set foot in the Manteca facility at all and I will advise against it unless something changes quick!

Since joining, I am part of a BOOTCAMP family. Every day there is a new workout. Never the same routine. I love that I look forward to another fun BOOTCAMP. Kicking my behind every time. This is a beautiful facility that is clean, has super nice equipment, and best of all - everyone was extremely welcoming and kind to us. The staff at the front desk made us feel very welcomed and we were given a tour as well when we got there. We started with using the open gym and had a great upper body workout. They have everything you need for a great pump! Full dumbbells, with benches and lots of machines as well for upper and lower body. They also have every time of workout class! Boxing, Reformer Pilates, HIIT, Cycle, etc. We then took a cycle class and Michele subbed for the class - she kicked our butts - music was so fun with a diverse mix of hip-hop, pop, and EDM. The choreo was challenging, and the leaderboard sprints were also fun to help push us more! If this gym were in SoCal, I'd look at becoming a member right away based on this experience. Thank you to Legacy for giving us an amazing "home away from home" gym experience. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely come back.

Multiple members have noticed and openly discussed cockroaches in both the gym area and bathroom stalls, as well as black widows in the lifting room. This isn't an isolated incident--it's something that has been consistently brought up among members. What's most frustrating is the lack of acknowledgment or visible action taken to address it. For a facility of this quality, basic sanitation and safety should be a top priority. Unfortunately, due to these concerns not being resolved, I ultimately had to cancel my membership. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, because this gym has a lot of potential and I would genuinely love to return if improvements are made
