Due to a water leak at the Manteca InShape yesterday Friday the 10th, of April, I visited Tracy InShape and was pleasantly surprised. They offer a great variety of cardio classes such as; Zumba, Bombay Jam, Power Yoga, Young at Heart, Dance, Barre, Tai Chi, Core, High-Intensity Bootcamp, Body Combat, Piloxing, and more. I loved seeing the variety of Cardio classes to choose from and not a repetitive course as my home gym. For Example at Manteca; we have Pilates twice per day at times or Bodypump, perhaps instead an extra Zumba class on Monday or Thursday, evenings would be awesome with Mrs. Lilian as her "Zumba"is one of a kind an excellent instructor and if not to much to ask, add other courses too to be inclusive to the members needs. The Tracy location really stands out for its variety and inclusiveness of different cardio classes. It's clear management is making an effort to support members of all ages and fitness levels, which creates a motivating and welcoming environment. Need to give a shoutout to the staff - especially Shawn the manager - for his amazingly quick help with a scary situation in the gym parking lot the other day!! My toddler locked herself and my infant son in my car, I ran back into the gym and Shawn immediately jumped into action and was able to call a locksmith he personally knew who arrived within minutes. All while helping calm me down and making my toddler smile. I love having a place for my kiddos to play while I can workout and have a little bit of time for myself. My kids love going to the kids zone, especially when Cayla or Landon are working. So grateful for this gym! read more

I'm giving this location three stars mainly because of how crowded it gets. Even though the gym itself looks spacious, during peak hours--especially during and after school--it feels more like a hangout spot than a place to work out. Trying to get a bench or a cable machine can be frustrating, with two or three people hovering around one station and constantly saying they have "a few more reps," only to pass it to their friends. If you come during off-peak hours or stick to cardio, it's much better. But if you're planning to lift weights during peak times, you may end up waiting more than actually working out. Another downside is the amount of filming going on. There are way too many tripods and people recording. It's hard not to feel like you're interrupting someone's content, even when you're just trying to get through your workout. I think management should consider limiting tripods, banning them, or at least creating a designated filming area so it doesn't disrupt other paying members. That said, the gym does have a lot going for it. There's a full indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, steam room, an upstairs stretching area, and even a kids' daycare. Overall, it's a solid gym with great amenities--just overcrowded and a bit chaotic during peak hours. read more

This location is a mix between a nice gym and one from the 90's where you will find rust, or dust. It's nice that they are back to having towels, because when we first joined there were none. I tried to report the bike that I was riding using the QR code that's on it and it thinks that this is a different piece of equipment. Disorganized much? It's too bad that we don't have other options to choose from in the area. The draw to In-Shape is their outdoor pool, but the rest leaves something to be desired. read more

I came in to claim my free day pass and was confused when the worker told me to pay $20. I was told its only free when you *live* in Manteca. Then I went on the In Shape website to clarify it says you don't need to live here..Whatever the rule is, it should be clear on the website or I would have never scheduled the tour in the first place..What if someone was moving and didn't have a Manteca address yet? Its really misleading. I called and did the same procedure for Stockton and they said there is no fee AND i don't have to be a Stockton resident so what the hell is up with this Manteca location? Weird! Please don't let people take advantage of your wallets. Especially when they are persistent. 30 years at few clubs just first time this morning every one felt really freezing at the studio room before we got body balance classes. Fan kept turn on but no one can't touch it was so weird because they just made the box covered with blocked finally Jill Schemper got to called staff to get the key to opened the fan box covered. They did turned off just 20 minutes later it automatically turned back on again then Jill's got to ran again to asked the key for turned off again.they turned both air conditioning and fan during winter with freezing out side that is very very crazy management at Manteca in Shape. Still haven't improved but I haven't gave up on them. Parking has got way worse. I chose this gym to come after work but they decided it would be a great idea to have like two different group classes around the time of 5pm. Soon as you walk its nothing but families standing around watching their kids swim and also in the lobby watching on tvs. If you have a workout olan forget it . You will be lucky if you find an open machine. You will be lucky if you find an open treadmill. And if you do 9/10 the incline gives you an error" code. You will be lucky to get an empty shower and if you do the water is now lukewarm. They never use to have these issues this bad just a few months ago. I still can't believe they never honored my monthly price of $39.99 . It's still $64.99 PLUS A YEARLY FEE. Been an in-shape member since 2011. read more

I do hope InShape Family Fitness Manteca CA, reconsiders the Zumba class for those members that appreciate this type of fitness program. In the meantime I'll be attending Carmen's, Ari or Rita's - Tracy, or Stockton InShape Fam Fitness until end of Jan 2025. After coming here for over a year, I've decided to post my first ever Yelp review. It sucks that it's a negative one, but hey, it's all for the betterment of the business, right? I'll say that in a pinch, this gym serves its purpose. They have a moderate to small equipment selection as well as a second floor with some equipment up there as well. It has a pool, which I never go into because I don't swim. At the end of the day, you can absolutely get your workout in. All that being said, there are some major downsides. From the moment you walk in, the front desk, depending on who is staffed, is rarely ever paying attention, particularly the girls behind the front desk. It looks like their phones and talking to each other in a huddle are more important than paying attention to who is at the front desk. I realize this isn't rocket science, but at the very least, being present at the front desk when someone checks in is very important, I assume, for your business, but also to answer any further questions guests might have or to make a purchase. I can't tell you how many times I've stood at the front desk like an idiot, waiting for somebody to help me as they finished up their conversation. It looks like they've staffed a lot of high school students, and it absolutely shows. The equipment is there, technically. If you come in when there's not a crowd, it appears to be a pretty decent selection. Unfortunately, for those of us who work a regular 9 to 5 job, if you come early or later, it gets so crowded that it's unbearable. There are only two bench press machines, and all of the free weights are sort of crowded together, making it really awkward and even potentially dangerous to walk around such a small, cramped area with so many people and so many different weights. A lot of people will also take the unsecured benches and go wherever they want and not return them. There's a major problem with kids swarming one or two pieces of equipment at a time, chatting it up, partying, and not working out. I can't tell you how many times I've seen groups of kids hogging a machine for anywhere from twenty minutes to forty-five minutes. It almost seems like you need a hall monitor, like at school, to help move people along. Finally, the facility itself is pretty rickety. The bathrooms get cleaned when they feel like it, and it generally has a grunge over it. I say this as a person who has had memberships at about 15 different gyms. The ceiling in the weight room is water-damaged, and it really does look like everything is being held up by tape. What I find interesting is they raised the membership fee five dollars on a whim. I've overheard countless employees justifying that by emphasizing how much money they have to spend to keep the lights on, the pool heated, etc. Unfortunately, I don't swim, so that benefit means nothing to me. All I've seen, and I mean this literally, are a few new handles and grip attachments. That's it. I've paid upwards of $50 for much cleaner, much friendlier/competently staffed facilities. Do yourself a favor and retrain your front desk staff on professionalism, respect, eye contact, etc. The basics. The bread and butter of customer service. And shut the gym down for a week; we'll all understand. Open it back up by expanding your equipment selection, getting innovative with the space you have, and updating everything. In Shape would have you believe this is the cream of the crop gym experience and try to justify raising our membership even more on a day's notice. In reality, this is a pretty low bar for a gym, even in the Central Valley. One last thing, if you're going to raise membership dues, expand your hours. There's nothing more annoying than wanting to get a workout in on a Saturday night and it being closed at 8 PM. It should be open until midnight every day. You can use the extra money that you've charged us to pay your employees to keep it open. read more

I attend this gym consistently and have been a member for a year and a half. The staff is phenomenal. Shawn is a people's manager. He genuinely cares about making members satisfied with their Inshape experience. The front desk attendants are always helpful. The maintenance person is always working hard on making improvements. I usually take classes, so I can't speak on the quality of the equipment. The gym classes are taught by talented instructors. I love Susie, Mary, Athena, and Edward. They bring so much positivity to their classes. Zumba with Lillian is fast-paced and fun. My newest obsession is Kristi's VTL classes. She is attentive to correct form and education. I wish corporate would help with infrastructure renovations, because the ceilings needed attention this winter with the heavy rains. Overall, this is the best Inshape I have attended thus far. I've been to Turlock and Modesto's Inshape gyms, and Manteca's Inshape is the best. I think if you are looking for a gym to get your workout in and be surrounded by better people, this is it. read more

I had an incident and lost my keys... it was a very stressful situation regarding the fact that I could've gotten my car stolen. I'm at this gym at least 5 days out of the week for fit, yoga, Zumba, body pump, water aerobics, and low impact cardio with weights classes. The variety offered is outstanding and the instructors, support staff, and manager (Sean) keep this gym ticking. 3.5 stars and heres why. Hands down the friendliest staff and probably the cleanest gym you have ever been to. Definitely the nicest and most maintained gym in the area. I have yet to meet a staff member that's not friendly and doesn't have a smile on their face. I also appreciate the towel service, the 15+ TVs in front of the cardio equipment, as well as outside equipment under a tent to protect you from the elements Now what I'm not a fan of: Fees - I have the local San Joaquin member ship, meaning all san Joaquin County clubs and nothing outside it. First, $74.99 is too much for anything short of a nationwide membership. Secondly I'm paying a $5 - $7 premium on top of that to use my credit card instead of a direct transfer from my bank account. So now im breaking $80 for a NON-NATIONWIDE membership because i wont share my routing information. GTFOOH! Credit card payment processing doesn't cost that much Hours - building upon the high membership cost and what I'm calling the aggregious credit card payment penalty, the hours also don't match the fees. This gym needs to be open 24 hours a day with these prices. They typically have 3 or 4 people here in the morning, I'm sure they can move some hours around to open earlier and stay later. Outside equipment - while I am a fan of there being outside equipment, it isn't well maintained. Lots of rust makes it difficult to add, remove, and rerack weights. I'm tempted to bring some CLR myself and do it. Lastly the men's toilets - They don't flush well since they installed some new system in the tank. You need to pull of the top of the tank and manually push a button if you want it to work properly. Overall great gym. For the price, it has some more justification to be done. read more
