I really enjoy working out at Legacy Athletic Center. The facility is always clean, well-maintained, and offers a great variety of classes, which keeps things interesting and motivating. That said, the membership pricing has steadily increased over time. When I first joined, unlimited classes were around $180, but now it's approaching $300 for essentially the same access. It's also become increasingly difficult to secure spots in popular classes like Pilates and Ride, which can be frustrating given the higher cost. While it's undeniably a beautiful and high-quality gym, it's no longer what I would consider affordable. The rising prices are starting to make it less accessible and seem to be pushing out those who aren't in a higher income bracket. read more

It's a nice gym, but there are downfalls. The parking is horrible! You have to park near the gas stations and rush to get to your class reservation by walking. When you buy a class like RIDE you have a limited time to use the pass or else they will cancel the class for you within a month. Which it's not right! You buy they should last at least a year from your purchase. They canceled my classes, I had a few left. Purchased on December canceled by March, purchased was over $250 for 10 classes I believe. Only attended 3. The RIDE instructor didn't really guide me on how to set up my bike nor how to adjust it. It was just a mess the first day. A lady next to me had to teach me how to lock in the ride shoes. Oh and also you have to get some weights before the ride class starts and I didn't realize that until the class had started. Finally you're not allowed to use the sauna! Unless you're a member, or paid for the one day pass. Positive feedback: clean gym, cold towels after ride with eucalyptus oil, clean restrooms with needed essentials. Bad feedback: parking, no guidance, limited passes, cancel without notice passes. I really wanted to like this place but I had a bad experience with the Pilates instructor Rachael. For context, I have been doing Pilates a little over 2 years now and I love my gym that I go to they have cross-training, barre, and Pilates; and all my instructors are really nice, accommodating, and professional. When I bring my friends/coworkers to Core Fitness the Pilates instructors always make it a habit to introduce themselves to my friend, ask if they have any injuries and offer modifications if they can't do a certain exercise on the reformer. My coworker took me on her guest pass to try a Pilates class at Legacy and I was super excited to give it a try! When I walked into the building the atmosphere was refreshing, very nice, and the front desk girl greeted me and welcomed me in. When I walked into the Pilates room Rachael was standing at the door, didn't greet me, mind you I'm obviously new here- she didn't acknowledge me, didn't ask me if I had any injuries, didn't introduce herself, and overall it seemed like she did not want to be there. The whole class felt off, her counting was horrible, she didn't smile, she had a flat affect the whole entire time in class, she did not explain herself well and she had to get on a reformer to give us an example- it seemed like everyone was puzzled when she asked us to do a certain move on the reformer. She adjusted my foot bar in a manner that was so abrupt I even said "whoa" because my foot was still on there. At least let me know what you're doing. Did not feel welcomed here, if I were looking for a new spot I wouldn't want to go here if all their Pilates instructors act like this. I mean the whole point of a guest pass is to try to get other people to join your gym- with instructors like Rachael that's one way to discourage someone from joining your gym. read more

The wife absolutely loves the classes and instructors. However, between lack of parking and them charging us no show fees for multiple classes we attended but the front desk either wasn't there or flat out didn't do their job, there's no point in staying. As for the bronze membership, not worth it. The open gym itself has nothing that makes it worth paying $180/month compared to other local gyms for 1/3rd the price. In fact, gyms like Planet Fitness or Valley Fitness often have a better variety of machines and racks. read more

This place is beyond amazing! From the smiling hello's you receive when you walk in. The temptation to buy everything in their boutique. Nicely spaced out so you can see everything they offer. To the left are lockers, spin class, Pilates, and yoga. Oh! Almost forgot...their food and drink bar. Açaí bowls, waffles, pre-workout and post-workout teas, smoothies, and speciality waters. The drinks are delectable! To the right and around the corner is your main weight room. So much to do, as you can tell by the pictures. You then have the bathrooms, sauna and steam rooms. Oh! By far the nicest gym I've ever been to. I have the highest membership here which allows me to go to any of the classes they have here. I've tried Pilates, cycling classes, heated yoga, and inferno Pilates in just the first week. They also have on site daycare that is awesome and convenient. I visit this studio to cycle when I'm in town from Chicago. While the new facility in Ripon is top tier, it has a huge lack of parking. I was frustrated to have to park at a the gas station around the corner. They were out of towels for cycle class today. For $35 a workout, I kind of expect a towel and to not have to clean my own bike. Luckily some other riders helped me with the new bikes, instructor walked in 2 minutes after class should start. I could not hear the instructor AT ALL during the ride. Her mic needed to be turned up. I will still ride here, hopefully my constructive criticism is taken to improve customer experience. read more

I hadn't worked out for 8+ years and i was so intimidated to get back into working out. This gym, which is not a good name for it, this family is simply amazing! I came into my first few classes without knowing what to expect but I received nothing but encouragement from the trainers, the owner and the staff. Everyone is so friendly and positive. I love all of the different classes that they offer, Yoga, Barre, circuit training, ride, EVERYTHING. I started coming in March and am motivated to still come 7 months later. Oh wow, I'm going to be honest, I'm kinda group workout class snob. Coming from a girl who has taken over hundreds of workout classes in SF, LA, and NY. And did ClassPass, I know a good class when I see one. I'm not from here but I'm visiting family for a couple of weeks and I was itching for a workout class. But due to the limited amount in Manteca I finally decided to give this place a try. I had no expectations because I didn't think places like Manteca would have these sort of class (similar to soulcycle) but WOW, THIS PLACE IS BETTER THAN SOULCYCLE. Honestly, I don't really like soulcycle because it's so freakin crammed in there. Don't @ me. I said what I said. The people there helped my boyfriend and I get into our bikes. Even though we knew how I just wanted to see if they will help us set things up and if they are nice about it. And they're super patient and nice about it. She took the time to set up my seat for me and made sure I was comfortable. On to the class! I took the spin class and it was soo fun! The music was on point. Super energetic, gets your heart rate up, and makes you feel so good after. Everyone was extremely sweet and inviting. This place is such a gem. Def going to be going back! read more

We've been going to classes at Ride 209 since October 2020. We love it so much, the spin classes and shred classes are our favorites. Everything at Ride 209 is done with excellence and is first class. They keep everything clean. The staff is friendly and they do a good job of remembering your name and making you feel like part of the "family." They are active on social media and answer any questions right away. Ride209 is hands down one of the best spin studios in the Bay Area... after going to spin classes for four years and hitting up seven different studios, Ride209 beats them all. My Wife and I were out visiting family and caught the Veteran's Day class, as a Marine, this was a great way to spend my Veteran's Day morning. Michele kicked our butts, 700 calories in 45 minutes keeping everyone motivated and focused. Riding to the custom Veteran's Day playlist... Michele then closes up the class with this cool little surprise for everyone, a small piece of Heaven. It's impossible to leave these classes and not be drenched in sweat but still with a smile on your face and have no fear, the bathroom and studio is PRISTINE. I kid you not, they have anything you can ask for - from towels, shampoo, q-tips, brushes, deodorant, THE WORKS! Ride209 is definitely a great value, try them out. Male or female, you'll get a great workout in, everyone has a great time. The only bummer for us is that we are on the other side of the Bay Area, sounds like we will be visiting the family a touch more often. read more

Firstly, there are some truly incredible instructors here that will make you feel welcomed and will help you wherever you are on your journey. The class offerings are incomparable in this area. With that said, the overall vibe can be very cliquey. There has been a shift in their marketing to try to have this perfectly curated, influencer aesthetic-- not all of us are 21 year old tik tok girlies so not really what most of us are looking for in a gym (really a posing room ‍). By their Instagram you would think they only have three members because they only post the same people that fit their aesthetic time and time again. It's also sad to constantly hear toxic messages like "if you ate/drank something bad last night turn up your resistance." As a woman owned business that is ahead of the game in this area, there is such a powerful opportunity here to create a more positive approach for women and young girls to health and fitness but instead often see/hear the same toxic diet culture messages shared. Also, your trainers posting "3.5 weeks post-partum-- back in the gym" is such a damaging and harmful message to be promoting. I would hope to rejoin in the future when a better, more healthy all around approach to fitness is taken. read more

After many people from work have been trying to convince me to try out Ride209 I finally gave in when work did a private ride on New Year's Day 2021. I instantly fell in love with my first ride here. Never would I have thought I'd be in love with doing cycling especially ones offered here. You ride to the beat of the music, I love their theme rides and even their music video rides. Pretty cool ha? Ride209 offers other classes like Shred which is my kind of full body workout. There are other classes like Yoga, Barre, Pilates and many more working on different areas of your body. You can find me here now at least 4 days of the week doing doubles or even triple classes. I've been opened up in ways I didn't know my body could handle. Michele is amazing as well was the rest of her staff. Once they get to know you they know your strengths and pushes you to do more. RIDE209 is a cycle studio with amazing, super helpful and sweet staff, it is SO organized and SO clean, beautiful facility.. it has a small boutique in the front offering branded merchandise and beautiful activewear, and through the locker room there is a smoothie bar with lots of yummy flavors - and they are all under 200 calories, have tons of protein and taste so good you'll forget they are healthy. (The Snickers Shake tastes exactly like Snickers...without the empty calories! This was the best thing I could have had after the intense cycle session, it kept me full for a few hours too!) I went on a Tuesday morning for a Rhythm Ride taught by Michelle who is a FANTASTIC, engaging and enthusiastic instructor. I have never been in a cycle studio before and one of the girls working there was so sweet and walked me through everything from getting shoes for me to helping me adjust my bike and putting my feet in the pedals. The number of the bike you reserve is coordinated with locker numbers, so since I had Bike 13, my locker number was 13. You input your own code and lock your bag and phone inside (no cell phones during the cycle session!) I love how easy and well organized this place is. There are absolutely zero negative vibes here, only encouraging ones so you can feel comfortable going at your own pace if you are a beginner (like I am.) Clean towels are provided for you on your bike, make sure you bring plenty of water because I sweat SO much. The music is loud and makes you feel like you're at a concert and the lights are choreographed to the entire session. Michelle is a very motivational speaker as well, she will encourage you throughout the ride. Afterwards you are given the loveliest cold towel soaked in some sort of amazing aroma and it's basically the most relaxing and nicest thing ever. I think for $25 a class, you are getting a really great experience. She also has deals for more classes in a bundle if you want to go frequently. You won't find anything like this at the gym. I wish I lived in the area and could go frequently, I would totally trade my weekly night out for a morning cycle class!! read more

My Lead invited me as a guest to try it out and I am so happy I came. First, its CLEAN. They provide shoes for you to lock into your bike. They have reserved bikes and lockers for guest where you can create your own passcode to your locker. Once you get into the room there's colored lights and a large mirror in the front of the room to keep you motivated. They music playlist was awesome and kept the class flowing, it was so fun. Once you're in your coold down they bring you cold towels that had a menthol smell on it which was soothing and after sweating like you were partying hard that towel is a gift! Lol if you decide to take an AM class they do have showers as well which is convenient for a busy body. This is a must try, in shape cycling classes are NOTHING like this. read more
