My sister and I joined recently and so far we love it!…read more It's a very clean facility, everything is always clean and the other members have great etiquette. We don't often come during staffed hours but the staff that we have spoken to are friendly. The girl who did our introduction was very knowledgeable and let us know about all of the promotions up front. She set up our sauna and provided everything we needed for the trial session. I love that there is 24/7 access and I also like that the saunas only hold 2-3 people. It allows my sister and I to have privacy and get some sister time. I'm also not hugely social so I do appreciate not sweating it out in a room full of people. The workouts are easy to follow and the saunas are very clean! A few things to note. They do require that you only use the mats and towels sold by Hotworx, they are made specifically for heated application. Although, I was with a private Hot Yoga facility previously and already owned a mat made specifically for these types of workouts, you cannot use other brands. You can rent their mats/towels for $5 or you can purchase the combo for $117. Many people sell them online for less. The only thing that was a bit of a turn off was the membership cancellation policy. When you first sign up you do have 3 business days to cancel and it states that the studio may charge you a fee to cancel based on how much you used the facility within that time frame. If you do not cancel within the first 3 business days, you are in contract for 90 days and then the membership switches to month-to-month. However, if you want to cancel after the 90 days, you have to give a 60 day notice. So, you're locked in for at least 5 months. If for some reason you need an immediate cancellation the cancellation fee is $99. I researched this before even going to my trial class so i was aware and willing but I don't like that they make it so hard to cancel. You'll also be required to do it in person or by written statement through certified mail and only at the location in which you signed up. You do have the option to freeze your membership for up to 3 months if needed but will still be charged $9 a month and cannot use the facility. I also found it hard to find any of this information on the website.

I've been coming to this gym for a few months now, and I'm so glad I found Excel Health and…read moreFitness. What really sets this gym apart from others I've been to is how involved and supportive the coaches are. From day one, they made me feel welcome and encouraged. They take the time to explain the exercises, make sure you're doing them correctly, and truly help you get the most out of each workout. One extra touch that really stands out is how involved the owner, Danny, is. He actually takes the time to check in with you, see how things are going, and make sure you're feeling supported. Even the motivating emails make a difference -- they help keep you accountable and remind you why you're showing up in the first place. This gym feels less like a place you just work out and more like a community that actually cares about your progress. Highly recommend if you're looking for encouragement, guidance, and a place that genuinely wants to see you succeed.

Community is a big deal here, and building it is one of the main focuses of the gym. The coaches are also great at providing knowledgeable/personalized feedback. I know people are hesitant to invest in a CrossFit membership ($$) but coming from someone who's paid for multiple gym memberships and barely used them, this one is definitely worth it. The value is in having a whole community help push you towards your fitness goals. So many days I didn't feel like training but then started working out with friends and all of a sudden, it's like you're playing a game. Everyone is beyond friendly here and finding people willing to suffer through a WOD with you is pretty easy. If you want to have fun and improve your health and fitness in the process, I'd definitely recommend Excel for you.

My toddler locked herself and my infant son in my car, I ran back into the gym and Shawn immediately jumped into action and was able to call a locksmith he personally knew who arrived within minutes. All while helping calm me down and making my toddler smile. I love having a place for my kiddos to play while I can workout and have a little bit of time for myself. My kids love going to the kids zone, especially when Cayla or Landon are working. So grateful for this gym!

I'm giving this location three stars mainly because of how crowded it gets. Even though the gym…read moreitself looks spacious, during peak hours--especially during and after school--it feels more like a hangout spot than a place to work out. Trying to get a bench or a cable machine can be frustrating, with two or three people hovering around one station and constantly saying they have "a few more reps," only to pass it to their friends. If you come during off-peak hours or stick to cardio, it's much better. But if you're planning to lift weights during peak times, you may end up waiting more than actually working out. Another downside is the amount of filming going on. There are way too many tripods and people recording. It's hard not to feel like you're interrupting someone's content, even when you're just trying to get through your workout. I think management should consider limiting tripods, banning them, or at least creating a designated filming area so it doesn't disrupt other paying members. That said, the gym does have a lot going for it. There's a full indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, steam room, an upstairs stretching area, and even a kids' daycare. Overall, it's a solid gym with great amenities--just overcrowded and a bit chaotic during peak hours.
