Writing a review not because I have time, but because their services genuinely are exceptional and…read moreis wholly deserving of a very positive review. It's going to read as a cliche, but they actually were very professional, and at least appeared to be sincerely caring, which mattered immensely when I was facing an unsafe crisis with birds having roosted, nested, and raised their young for months on my upper floor units' semi-enclosed veranda. One corner, which was near two windows was completely covered in unsafe droppings. I spoke with Richie, who upon reviewing the pictures and videos of the affected area, made it clear what was required. He was extremely detail oriented and proved to be equally thorough. Knowing that they would need to exit the affected area through my indoor living space, they covered the floor and rug with plastic. They secured all the affected items with heavy duty plastic bags to reduce the possibility of contamination. The affected areas were thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and sterilized what surfaces could take the high temperatures with steam in an organized, systematic, and controlled process. Sincere friendliness all throughout this was enormously appreciated. I highly recommend.

To make matters worse, my wife is very allergic to these bad boys and would swell up like a balloon every time she got bit. It was pretty nasty. Well, thankfully I found Andy and he was helpful at explaining the process and helping us eliminate these bastards. So far, we have been bed bug free. Let's hope it stays that way.

Just in case they came back, but they haven't! We lived in a building that had bed bugs and they never addressed the issue, so we just kept getting bed bugs over and over that would come back after every treatment. When we finally moved, we were absolutely set on not bringing the pests with us! Andy was SO patient with me. He answered my millions of logistical questions over the phone every time I had them and was just all around very supportive. The packing instructions are very clear and you should definitely follow them very carefully. He provided us with a list of moving companies and we picked one from his list and they were great too. It was a very seamless experience and you can really tell that they are used to working together.

When an exterminator does show up, they can be very useful and the techs are generally very…read morefriendly. But unfortunately the tech most recently assigned to our building has not been showing up on scheduled days. Or showing up but doing his best to avoid servicing the apartments. This means calling the office, trying to scheduling other times and coordinating being home an additioal day. I've had some very nice techs from ABCO throughout my many years in the same building, but currently, not so much. Mostly there is no knock on my door at all and the few times I have managed to hear him, he's knocking so, so, so lightly it is obvious the intention is not be heard. I know if he's getting past my apt so frequently (someone who really wants service), then he isn't servicing many other tenants either. (Many years ago my ABCO exterminator would chant EXTERMINATOR! up and down the stairwell, insuring everyone had an opportunity for service.) It's very frustrating and of course can lead to many pests in the building.

My building's management company uses Abco for all exterminating. They might be effective with…read moreother, less-difficult pests (though monthly spraying hasn't totally gotten rid of roaches), but they have been unable to effectively get rid of bedbugs in the building in the 3 years I've lived there. Getting rid of bedbugs requires clear communication and educating tenants on how to properly prepare for treatment and what to watch out for, and the technicians don't really do that. They also don't tell residents anything about the pesticides being used. Appointments are 4 hour windows (either the morning or the afternoon window, both of which require taking time off work from a 9-5 job), so you have to sit around waiting for them to show up. There are no updates during the course of the day to indicate when in that window the technician expects to show up. Most infuriatingly, 3.5hrs into a 4hr appointment window, I got a call cancelling the extermination and asking to reschedule because the technician "didn't have car access." He said he had also called our management company, but management had not received any such call. Exasperated, I asked why we hadn't been informed earlier (to avoid having to take the day off work and wasted a whole afternoon waiting around) and whether they could send another technician or otherwise solve the problem without having to reschedule for the following day. Rather than trying to problem-solve, he said "it is what it is and I don't know what else to tell you" and proceeding to imply that because our appointment had been rescheduled (the same day it was initially made, with no problems or concern on their end) we somehow were partially to blame. The whole situation was highly professional and very frustrating, which makes an already-unpleasant problem even more miserable. Having bugs in your apartment is the worst, but I imagine a competent, proactive extermination company makes it less terrible. Working with Abco, we wouldn't know.

Called on Pete and he said "if u are getting bites it's bed bugs". I then took my cat to the vet for shots and he had fleas. Pete insisted to treat for bed bugs at an enormous fee but refused to search my bedroom I called on a friend (exterminator) who lives quite far from me but he came to take look. Confirmed fleas ! Saved me lots of work and money. I recently moved and my buyers home inspector said termites were present on my front deck. I called on Pete once again as I had forgotten about the bed bug incident. He searched entire house then came in and asked where the other guy found termites ? I told him he went back outside and came in and said he sees evidence of termites. $800. My husband knew he did not use pressure treated wood with this one small piece and was convinced it was water rot. So I called one more exterminator who confirmed no termites and gave us a signed document with a warranty! Maybe Pete needed the money but so did i. I also needed a competent honest contractor to service my home ,
