If you want to have souvenirs of any kind from Miami and Miami Beach, then you have to go to…read moreAlvin's Island store at Lincoln Road. They sell a lot of varieties of souvenirs like clothing, home decor, plates, ref magnets, key chains, and a lot more. You can also buy beach wear and beach accessories and necessities, and surf items in this store. The beach is just a few minutes walk from the store. Their products are good, a lot of selections, and great value for money. Check it out!

Vacationing in the Panhandle for many years, I am quite familiar with the Alvin's Island stores, so…read moreI knew I would have to swing through to pick up a few t-shirts for the fam back home. This Alvin's is located adjacent to the Loews Hotel and is overwhelming in size and inventory. Hundreds of shelves spanning the store filled with shirts, sweatshirts, bathing suits, towels, hats, etc...lining the walls is where all the tchotchkes are housed. Pricing is hit and miss, but shirts are buy 3 get 1, and with most shirts being $12 - $16, that isn't a bad deal. They have snacks up front and several other random items. Service is non-existent, even at the register honestly. They were not rude, they just didn't engage at all. As mentioned above, the store is super overwhelming and can become a bit much when more than a few people are on any given aisle. I was able to get what I needed, so I'm thankful for the short walk and nice haul.

While the store has all the typical souvenir merchandise that one can imagine, it lacks…read moreorganization and customer service. Also the merchandise is super cheaply made, but priced at an average of $15 per t-shirt. Upon entering, we witnessed two teenage girls running out while stealing. Another member of our party, who was waiting outside, also saw the same girls running out with merchandise and laughing. The store alarm went off and nobody seemed to care, so we shrugged it off and began shopping. We wanted souvenir shirts for everyone in the family. Unfortunately, if you have a stroller, good luck, because the kids clothes and kids merchandise is located upstairs. No strollers can easily access the second floor. My husband volunteered to make the two story journey upstairs. When he got up there, everything was so unorganized that it was difficult to find anything. The toddler sizes are not labeled toddler, they are labeled by months even through the toddler stage. We had to ask for help because it was so disorganized and oddly sized. A staff person did go up and help assist, but proved to be unhelpful. While my husband looked through the mess upstairs with the sales person, security approached me and attempted to make small talk. It was weird and unwelcome. Especially considering that multiple customers witnessed the two girls stealing from the store a few minutes earlier. You'd think security would actually do her job.

I speak Spanish and ofcourse, she didn't know that and said she was sick of the lady next to me already. When I questioned why my items were $34 the first time she rang them and then she rang them again and they came out to $45 she was visibly annoyed and dumped everything out of my bag to show me there were 5 items rung up and that it matched her screen. There's no need for all the rudeness. If This wasn't my last stop and I didn't have to buy my employees something from Miami Beach I would never have given my hard earned money to that place.
