I was having lunch in the cafe next door and I could see these pods in the back garden and wanted to go to Rioja. In the evening I went to Rioja. The place wasn't busy just yet although Uppermill was as they had just had their Christmas lights switch on. Because of the lights switch on, there was no space in the restaurant area and I didn't fancy sitting outside but we were happy to be sitting in the bar area where there are bar stools and wine barrells. Another bonus, the two restaurant owners were there whom we chatted to and they showed us the dining pods outside which I have never seen anywhere else. They also treated us to some free bread and olives.
We ordered a seafood paella to share, mulled wine and rioja! The service was very friendly (lots of staff) which included a Spaniard. We had a lovely time and was there for three hours. It was a bit hectic during the rush, but overall it's a lovely place and somewhere I would go to again for a bit of class, good wine and food. read more
