Of course Rosemead had to have roses haha. Parking is convenient either street parking or parking in the basketball court or swimming pool lots. There are couple public restrooms open at night. The area feels very safe and well lit. I saw people dancing, baseball and soccer teams practicing and many people going out on their daily walks. I'd imagine it would be a great place for bbq as well during the day. Little details matter. Great job city of rosemead. Bugs and mosquitos love me but I managed to not get a single bite!! The gazebo is powered by solar which is pretty cool. Water fountains are dog friendly. I can't think of any improvements haha keep up the good work!

I enjoy walking at the park and I appreciate a padded walking trail at the park. I haven't tried walking here during the mornings, but overall at night, it is decently lit. The track has several curves so I don't know if it is that suitable for running although I have seen runners on the track before. There's also some exercise equipment along the track as well. Other amenities for the park- -swimming pool, skate park, basketball court, soccer field, baseball field, picnic benches Overall, I usually would prefer Almansor for walking/ running but if I can't get to Almansor, I would prefer this as an alternative park to get a walk in.

The name of this place. ..can't beat it!…read more Named after Arcadia's sister city of Tripolis, Arcadia in Greece; built in 1963; and dedicated in 1975, this is a cute, clean park on the corner of Fairview and Golden West in Arcadia, Los Angeles, California. It's quite basic with free street parking and lots of fresh air, but no restroom... Alana and I went there for the first time to check it out. Adults were playing cards at the picnic tables while children were playing on the jungle gym. BBQ grills are available, as well as trash cans and walking paths. I liked the acorns and squirrels the best - we don't have those in Hawaii! LOL! I had fun watching a squirrel run up a tree! I was so happy! It was appropriate for me to visit this park together with Alana since she was the first LA Yelper that I met in real life (IRL). Thanks for your friendship! I really appreciate you!

I just want to say that this park has been newly renovated with an added dog park. There are…read moreenclosed areas for smaller dogs and one for larger dogs. There's also new bike racks in the perimeter so you can come with you dog by bike and have a place to lock up. The dog parks are always being used so there's a constant flow of park users which is great. In the past, the park seemed isolated and not use. You can't change anything about the park being next to the freeway and noisy from the nearby airport, but it's much more enjoyable park than before. There's always people there now whether they're playing basketball, using the dog park, or families at the playground. Definitely recommend coming here especially if you have dogs or children. Even if you don't, like me, you can just watch all the cute doggos in the park. It has the added benefit of being next to the Rio Hondo bike trail so you can get here by bike or get in some bicycling. :)

And perhaps I was just bothered by how inconspicuous the park entrance is: it's a gate that does not immediately look like the entrance to a park, which is how I missed it the first time I visited over a decade ago. During my recent second visit, I came back with a better appreciation for parks and birds. I did not expect to find any birding lifers here, but I in fact found four in one day. I heard the Green Heron before I saw it, and photographed it without realizing what it was. I just thought it was another Black-Crowned Night Heron, but boy was I delighted to find out later when I was reviewing my photos that it was a Green Heron lifer. The park appears to know it's a great spot for birding as there is signage indicating possible seasonal bird encounters. Perhaps I should stop talking about birds, but I can't help it. Also, "Peck" Road? Birds are the point. It's a large park with a delightful amount of nature to get immersed in. I can't wait to come back for a third visit!

This place is a birder's paradise, with its large lakes and blooming flowers, inviting many bird species. I've counted over 20 different species in just a few hours of walking a whole loop. My only complaint is that it was closed the one day I made the long drive out, on a day that it wasn't supposed to be closed. But thankfully there is a cut out on the gate to the side so you can still walk in. You'll just have to park on the street instead of drive in and park inside. So this is just something to watch out for - random closings.

We ended up renting a large picnic shelter and it is actually in high demand during the summer time (rented out in June for an August date). Despite a very warm day (mid-high 90s) the shelter kept us relatively cool. The kids loved the space-themed playground and the large shelter can host up to 180 or so people whereas the smaller shelter can host up to 50 or so people. (+): experience with renting out the shelter- benches were clean, employees were nice (+): amenities of the park- tennis courts, large walking area, multiple parking lots, basketball courts Overall, I would come here again and also consider renting out the park shelters.

It's newly renovated which makes the quality a lot smoother than before. Restrooms are available as well near the courts and also near the playground area. Parking is plentiful in parking lot but can fill up quick. Street parking is also available for free. There's 8 pickleball courts, which fills up quick these days. You can queue up with your paddles when it's full. The pickleball community here is great, on the weekends there's people who manage it voluntarily which is nice for newcomers. Overall, a great renovated park, very clean, friendly people, and spacious.

I always pass this park and its play area is usually empty so I wanted to take a chance to try it out. As we got here it's street parking only, plenty of picnic tables, two gated tennis courts, and restrooms. Plenty of shade in the table area but no shade where children play. The play area is designated for ages 5-12 so not really made for children younger. It's also under sand which is not common nowadays in most parks I've been. There's three Pokémon gyms if you play Pokémon go. Overall, it's a good park in the residential area, but I'll pass and continue to try to find one for my little one. Instead we ran around counting the trees where there's plenty of shade and playing tag.

As a mom of 3 young boys, i frequent parks as a necessity for our sanity. here's a quick breakdown…read moreif you have a young family like ours. accessibility: if you want a quiet park with lots of running space go on a weekday in the morning or in the afternoon. the weeknights can be busy depending on the sports leagues that's playing, and weekends are generally more busy with leagues and families out to play. if you're taking a car it's definitely better to visit in the afternoon as the park doesn't have its own designated parking space and the street gets busy with the andres duarte school crowd. mom alert mode: this is my own level of awareness when i'm out with my kids. 1 being i can relax and kindof think my own thoughts, 10 being i have to watch the kids like a hawk. this park gets a 8. the playground unfortunately is close to the street, which can be busy with cars, and is also wedged by two big fields (the baseball fields + big grassy areas) so a lot of places kids can wander off to. the actual playground is also safe for kids above 3 years old, so walking toddlers like my one year old with no sense of danger or heights and no natural sense of balance need extra supervision. bathroom access: pretty easy, there's only one bathroom at the park. it's smaller but close to the playground, and is central to the other fields as well. the end

Anyways, I'm still giving this park five stars since the incident in question only happened once out of 100 times I've been there.... I owe it to everyone who has looked for a decent park in my park-poor area to tell them about about this fantastic park hidden in plain site (you can see it right off the freeway near Mt. Olive). The fields, because they don't normally allow football or soccer leagues, are quite possibly the best in the area. Strike that - they are the best. Man do our fields suck in Pasadena through Duarte.... Anyways, it is the site of my alternating weekly pickup soccer game, but I've noticed they've got a great playground, plenty of trees and shade, barbecue pits, fantastic ball-fields, in the summer and actual clean bathrooms... Now, clean bathrooms shouldn't be the thing that puts it over the top, but in reality 9.5 parks out of ten either have super tagged up, nasty gnarly bathrooms or the dreaded plastic outhouse of death known as the port-o-pottie. Since this does has neither, the park gets five stars...although they do on occasion run out of toilet paper. Hmm...maybe that explains the incident in question....
