cutest park ever, well maintained, clean and lots of shade from the mature trees. very nostalgic!

Favorite park brings back my childhood memories if you grew up in SGV it's like you've been here too! There's a regular park in the front but if you go across the bridge located to the left you'll see this part of the park in the back. Plenty of parking available including on the streets. There are also bathrooms on site. Kids love this place.

Just a few of the things to climb and slide on in the playground

Somehow this park is both a San Gabriel Valley institution and one of its best kept secrets. It's definitely worth checking out if you have kids, or want to pretend you're a kid on TikTok. This park has some really amazing concrete play sets in the shapes of sea life and fantasy creatures. I mean, it's hard to pass up the chance to climb on an octopus or slide out of a whale's mouth. These structures are pretty good size and the size of the slides- or the climb to them- might intimidate very young kids. The good news is there is also a more traditional playground in the front of the park- so you have some options. Don't be thrown off that you don't see this playground when you first pull up. YOU MUST WALK DOWN A SHORT PATH TO IT, so don't think you are in the wrong place. Definitely worth the drive to check out. Have fun! Let your kids have fun too. Stop hogging the slides Mom.

This was such a fun playground. Lots of climbing for the kiddos, and the sculptures are so whimsical and cute! The park is very clean, and has a lot of native plants around the walkways. Really great park.

I grew up playing here, and now my kids love it! We call it "The Dragon Park." The only drawback is that it's sand at the park, but the kids don't mind. Plenty of shade and benches too.

Clean large park with adjacent play structure. Sand pit is tucked away and only really accesible by walking to it.

Miniature golf is about 16$, a go kart is about 12$, the arcade can really add up so get a card that you can use for the wide variety of games they have. The bumper boats and Disk Thrill Ride are about 12$ per person. We love their little train and that is about 5$. You can get a two hour wrist band and we do that and save a lot that way. When I went, they opened from 5pm til 10pm, but stop admitting people at 9. - Entry: Carnival tickets are $9.95 (I paid $10 at the window), and they stamp your hand as you walk in. All rides are unlimited, but you still pay for food and games. I never had to wait long for a ride. It's such a good deal! Beware of mud on the dirt and hay ground since they water it and wear close-toed shoes. - Rides: I'm afraid of heights, so I only rode the baby rides like the merry-go-round, bumper cars, spinning dragons (think Disneyland teacups), mini roller coaster, dumbo, etc., and I died on the Ferris Wheel, although it was very smooth and did not sway. I watched my friends go on the Super Shot (smaller, shorter version of Supreme Scream), spinning swings, and a spinning ride where you lie on your stomach. We also went to a small mirror maze. There were more rides, like a large slide and many of them rides for small children. However, there were a few rides that did not work. A majority of workers were energetic and fun, but the ones with broken rides were tired and didn't want to be there. ***Food: Sort of pricy depending on what you get, but that's normal at fairs.*** - Standard fair food like funnel cakes, nachos and candied apples can be found here. Given the predominantly Latino area, there were many stands selling Mexican food and refreshments. - Churros. They were alright, but I could have skipped them. - Funnel cake. I went up to a random stand to get peach funnel cake that came with whippe cream on top; it was pretty good because they kept the canned peaches cold, but it wasn't amazing. It was also pricy at $7, but it was huge and I split it. - Sope. Bought a $5 carne asada sope topped with shredded cabbage, guacamole, sour cream, a slice of tomato, and grated cotija cheese. The masa base was so good and fresh; I saw the ladies shaping them at the booth! The meat was also flavorful and not tough. However, they skimped on the guac and sour cream. The tomato was ripe and yummy; I wish they gave one more slice. I added lime juice from the condiments on their table. I ate it all up and got really full!

Today they had two special events: 1) meet a mermaid, and 2) party in paradise (Guam dancers). Today was particularly busy with Ronald McDonald House run from 9-11am and free admission for those who participated. Love that Kidspace has themed events to keep families coming! Lots of beautiful themed decorations in the front entrance and right as you walk through. We went straight to the reading area to get in line for meet the mermaid. We waited about 15 minutes. The mermaid was very friendly and played the part well. There were lots of Kidspace photographers. Next we went to the 1:30pm "party in paradise" performance at the outdoor amphitheater. My girls' (almost 5 & 7yo) favorite is the craft room. Today's activity was still the paper butterfly cutouts (we came on 3/30). They could spend the whole visit in the craft room! Los Trompos is also another favorite! Other favorites we didn't get to today: muddy boots farm, blue ocean area, arts/crafts up at the top of the hill, tricycles, climbing structures (2 indoor, 1 outdoor). My youngest really wanted to do the pressurized water bottle experiment. It wasn't working properly today, but a little boy showed us the trick. Well, it turns out they change their calendar and don't put out any announcement about it and so what I marked down is now incorrect . It's really frustrating. I wish they would send out an update when they decide to change their calendar or maybe just not put out the calendar so far in advance if they're going to change it.. All that being said, this place is great. We come here all the time. I started taking my baby when she was eight months old and I found out about their baby room, which is an amazing developmentally appropriate spot for babies to grow. They have carpet which is essential for babies learning to crawl. If you have a 0-12 month old DO not skip out on this! It's the absolute best part of KS IMO. Now that my child is almost 2. She loves the whole place... Her favorite is the stream... Make sure you bring an extra set of clothes and a towel because your kids will get wet! It's great that they change up their theme so often and that they bring in new items to play with all the time... We particularly love the clay table for the spring and I love the sensory bins on toddler Tuesday. Toddler Tuesday is absolutely wonderful. People always ask how it's different.- well, they set up the art room for toddlers so instead of having crafts where you may have to use scissors don't have something similar like painting ice... They also have sensory bins set up for them as well as some fun activities like sidewalk chalk. There are less older kids there which makes the toddlers have more freedom to roam about.

The goal is to use a weapon of your choice (pistol or 2 other rifles) to shoot down 6 targets, if you hit all 6, you win a prize (a medium sized plushie!). It cost $20 for 6 games. One game = 10 shots from your chosen weapon. In other words, you get 10 tries to knock down 6 targets, which I think is rather difficult since a few of the targets are really small. Whether you win or lose, you get a small prize (small plushie). The games can go by pretty quickly because after you shoot your first shot, you immediately want to shoot the other 9. As a person with no airsoft experience, I only hit 2 targets each game. The guns have almost no recoil and the shots aren't that loud, so it's a game that can be casually played with a date or your friends. You don't need to wear goggles or anything either. It was not too crowded, and there is a lot of parking on both the left and right side of the zoo, which made it easy. Before entering, there are many vendors selling food, hats, accessories, and children's toys. Children under 2 are free, ages 2 to 12 were $22, and adults were $27. I believe there is also a senior price, possibly around $24. We were able to go through the entire zoo in about 4 hours, and the kids spent some time at the playground, which was new to me since I had not been here in a few years. If you are going without children or with older kids, you could probably get through it faster. Some animals had been relocated to another zoo, and the elephants were not there, which was a bit of a bummer. We were told animals get put away about an hour before closing. I am not sure if that applies to all of them, since we still saw some animals out around closing time. We were able to bring in our own snacks and drinks, which was nice. They do have a few spots that sell food, drinks, ice cream, and other snacks, but they were a bit expensive for me. We did end up getting churros and shared them since they were really long and more than enough for my kids. Overall, it was a fun visit.

It's also a fairly large zoo with a lot of ground to cover and plenty of animals to see. That being said, I do feel like the quality of the zoo has gone downhill over the years which is why i awarded it 3/5 stars. There used to be far more exhibits and attractions consistently open, but over the past decade (possibly longer), it feels like every visit includes another closed exhibit, unavailable animal area, or ongoing renovation project. The recent removal and transfer of the Elephants of Asia made me especially sad, and even the petting zoo has remained closed for months now. Thankfully, not everything is negative. The zoo recently welcomed new chimpanzee, gorilla, and orangutan babies, which was genuinely exciting to see. Although I will say, for whatever reason, I feel like spotting the gorillas has become increasingly difficult every time I visit. But hey... if i was a gorilla, id avoid loud crowds too. lol. My personal favorite attractions are still the seals and the reptile exhibit. The zoo is definitely still a good place for families, especially if you have young children, but I highly recommend checking the weather beforehand because it can get HOT. There's decent shade throughout the park, but not many indoor areas with AC. My husband and I usually prefer visiting on weekdays because the traffic and crowds are much lighter. I also strongly recommend getting the membership if you plan on visiting more than once because honestly 2-3 visits practically pay for the membership itself. Plus, having a membership lets you take your time exploring instead of trying to rush through the entire zoo in one exhausting trip. If you need a break from the heat, the reptile house and wombat room are great places to cool down. Just keep in mind that the reptile room is pretty small and fills up quickly, and sometimes the wombat room is temporarily closed. There are several food spots and snack stands throughout the zoo, but honestly I usually prefer grabbing food from the vendors outside the park afterward. You'll typically find tacos, hot dogs, elotes, quesatacos, and other Mexican food options. Most of them also accept Zelle or Venmo now, which is convenient if you don't carry cash. One huge plus: parking is free and there's thankfully a lot of parking available. And this should probably go without saying, but wear comfortable shoes because there are definitely areas around the zoo with a decent amount of incline. By the end of the visit your calves will have their own testimony service. However, they do have electric wheelchairs available by the zoo entrance for those who don't want to brave a roundtrip off the zoo on foot.
