    Winter sunset. Peck Road Park.

Love this place. It is peaceful. There are often many birds, people quietly fishing, dogs trotting along with their masters or mistresses, families picnicking, or folks like me, Journaling, writing poems, sketching. Just sitting and thinking! Seasonal changes can make it seem barren and unkempt or lush and blossoming!

A small park near a lake. I took my dog here for a quick walk around the park and it was pretty nice and peaceful. The normal route is short maybe half a mile but you can checkout the bike trail which expands quite far down. Overall seemed pretty well maintained and they had plenty of parking plus restrooms. Probably best to come during the day because I can see how this place can be questionable at night.

Plenty of parking. Small little park to walk in if you want to do some exercise. Not too big. You can see some nice flowers during the Spring/Summer and they have a big lake. As seen in the name, you can enter/exit on peck road. It is only way in and out.

Recently started going here and it's been a great experience. I actually did community service at the park and that's how I found out about it. I've lived probably like 15 minutes away from the park all my life and recently found out it was opened to the public. Took my son to go throw some rocks at the water and he loved being there too. Great atmosphere and got to watch families fish too. The parking lot is a bit sketchy at times though, but all in all it's a nice park.

Just went there recently after longing for a place that isn't too crowded to walk my golden retriever, and it was a great spot for a brief walk with my dog! She really enjoys the off the path routes that lead you to the shore - where a comfy breeze sets the mood for relaxation. The Mungi Lake there hosts many different type of fishes, and folks of all kinds seem to come here to relax and do some fishing. Many parts of the trails are still under development, where you can see small plants being planted. This is a decent spot to come back repeatedly with a pet or family for a short leisure walk in North El Monte / East Arcadia area.

Wow I never knew about this Park. The bike trails are in excellent condition and you can take it all the way down to Seal Beach

Hidden treasure. It is clearly being renovated. Bike trails are in great shape. You can take it to Seal Beach. Can't believe I drive past this park almost weekly and never knew it was here. Worth visiting. Can't wait to see what Phase 2 renovations look like. Saw signage that this is only the phase 1 renovation.

Went biking here for the first time early in the morning. The views during sunrise were really nice! There is a dedicated bike path specifically for cycling as well (although plenty of walkers/runners use it as well). My only wish about this place is that there was more to see. There is a great water area with ~4 birds and some trees here and there. As far as biking / walking go, this is a great spot!

Nice place for a stroll and views of a man made body of water! It's so nice to have something like this in SGV. It's very calm and I see people fish here. There's also a walking trail and a bike trail that leads south all the way down to PCH I think. I wish people would be more considerate of their trash and not litter but overall very nice place for a stroll. Lots of parking but they close at sunset so it's important to get your car out by sunset or it'll be locked in!

This is a great hidden gem in the San Gabriel Valley. I enter thru the bike path off Las Tunas and if you follow the bike path you end up with a view of a body of water and if you face north it's a beautiful scene of the mountains and the water. It makes for a nice bike ride. It's part of the Emeral Necklace path so you can make your ride shorter or longer depending on when you want to stop and turn around. Alongside the path there is the occasional trash and tents but overall a nice path. And if you don't bike I see people walking on this path as well.

The guy was sitting low and back so I could not get a good photo of him.

went there today the park is beautiful But... the safety of this location is questionable!! to say the least. There are many shady people and vagrants hanging around!! When I arrived, I parked way to the right of the restrooms, I sat in my car to survey the area as I have never been here before. This guy was standing outside the restrooms staring at me and my car. I noticed him almost from the time I parked because he was staring... He is a young Hispanic man (20-30) with very short hair. He has a cast on his left leg and was on crutches. He finally went to his car which was parked way at the end of the lot to the left of the rest rooms. I got out and walked around the lake I was not gone long maybe 10-15 minutes When I returned to my car, he was parked one space over from my car with one empty space between the two cars. This was very suspicious... So, I took two photos of his car. I got into my car, and he peeked at me seeing that I was now staring at him.. Then he rolled up his heavy tinted windows so I could not photograph him.. Be careful out here ladies... I have no idea what he was planning to do but... I will not be coming back.

Good park for views. Not too good for walking as there are a lot of pebbles there which can hurt your feet if you don't have proper shoes. Overall a pretty clean and good park. A good amount of people there too which makes it safer. Occasionally there will be homeless people but they kind of stick to themselves

Please clean this place up a bit. It is a lovely area to chill and bird watch but the unhoused leave it filthy.

I enjoy using this park for cycling. You can take it south for several junctions... including the beach!

Ask the Community - Peck Road Water Conservation Park

Do we need to pay for parking?

No parking fee at all. I visited the place back in May 2022.

Does this park have bbq pits?

    Yes, scattered all around the place;

Is it a good place for picnic?

wow. i dont know why no one has answered your question in a year! Well, if your thinking of a "Picnic" includes laying a blanket on the grass in the shade, then no. it is mostly all dirt but does have concrete benches and limited shade around them.… Read more

Is this a good place to fish?

What do you mean "not at all"? If you go there early in the morning you'll see fish literally jumping out of the water. I was there a couple days ago and in short succession caught two decent size large mouth bass and one large stinky pain in the… Read more

Does get crowded like other parks?

No. I have been coming here for 3 years now. It is never crowded. Plenty of parking.

It's a great place to exercise or just relax and enjoy a bit of neighborhood nature. I come birding here sometimes as well - there are some seasonal AND resident favorites of mine here like the Western Tanagers, Cedar Waxwings, Bewick's Wrens, Western Bluebirds, and White-breasted Nuthatches! There's squirrels and often rabbits here - I've also seen bears and coyotes here so be aware. If you enter from Grand Avenue, there are 58 whimsical stairs to go down - all painted in a rainbow of colors! A lot of locals run/walk them for exercise. The other entrance is around the block on Valle Vista Ave and only has a few steps to contend with. At the top of the Grand Ave stairs, there's a small park area with a couple of benches, a nice bear statue, and several bird nest boxes that the Bluebirds & Nuthatches use in the spring. Down the stairs leads to the main, larger park with picnic tables, playground equipment, and lovely views of the San Gabriel Mountains. Parking is residential street parking but there's always plenty. The only downside is there are no bathrooms. Tons of people walk their dogs here and bring them to play and the city provides pet-waste bags and a water fountain for the humans AND the dogs lol. There is a leash law here - it's not a dog park - most people ignore it but be aware as I've seen it enforced occasionally.
