Beautiful newly renovated park. Kids love the big O spaceship in the center but cuz of the popularity, it's a pretty packed place like Disneyland. Clean, easy to find parking, didn't get a chance to check out the restroom though just realized that.

Giant steps are what you take Walking on the moon I hope my leg don't break Walking on the moon... Renovated space playground games are great for kids from young toddlers to bigger children. Large covered tables for parties offers your fiesta guests to find refuge from the sun. Cushioned walking path alls your walk to bounce with every step. Tennis, basketball courts on hand and baseball field as well. Indoor bathrooms with AC are located inside the community center. Park events such as movies at the park. Parking is located all around the park but off Bogue Street the lot isn't that big. You can park on the street. So moon walk over to Live Oak Park for your kids next adventure. God bless

Really nice park! Parking can be a challenge when there are soccer games going on, but if you want the kids to enjoy hours of fun at a new park, it's worth it. Also a great location to have a kid's party. There are designated tables for that. You're able to reserve the space through the city for a fee.

Towards the little kiddy section, and exercise stations

It's a community park, but a very well used park that holds some holiday events, has a community center that's always booked for classes, a huge field for soccer and softball games and a running track around the perimeter. Recently (June 2025) the new playground opened. It's been under renovation for about 2 years and it's money well spent. It's much bigger, eye catching and every evening since it opened, it's been packed with kids. There are also tennis courts, neither some converted to pickleball courts. Towards the southern end are basketball courts and a wall for punchball or practice solo tennis. Besides all of the sports areas, there's a spacious covered area with many tables and benches, which can be rented for parties. I often walk my dog here, or just come for a walk. It's safe and brightly lit with park patrols always in the move. Live Oak Park is a great place for everyone to get out of the house and get some fresh air. My only gripe is when there are games or events, parking can be tricky.

New playground now open yay for shade

Brand new park playground has been open for a week now woohoo it is so so crowded on a Saturday afternoon/evening but these large shade things make summer bearable. There's a large climbing rocket structure for the older kids and a smaller spaceship for the toddler and younger kids. The new swings for toddlers with the bucket seats and regular swings, spinning things and spiderweb climbing things are great. Even has little color wheels and spinning gears and colorful marbles for the even younger babies to enjoy. The landscaping with the up and down hills are great for all the kids to run up and down hills and valleys, lots of fun to be had here. There's a large field for other sports with balls the walkway for walking or tricycle or scootering should be allowed and basketball and punchball courts remain the same. There a restroom not far from the covered picnic area where there's always parties and tons of uncovered lunch tables. Parking has become a bit of a struggle now that everyone and their whole families are coming to enjoy the park and also keep in mind I saw a parking enforcement giving tickets to cars that were not parked "head in"

I came back to Live Oak Park after several months. They finished construction on the playground. All I can say is "wow." It's the most extravagant playground I've seen - makes me, even as an adult, feel jealous of the kids that get to play here. The 4 white wings is what you'd see from a distance. It provides shade during sunny days. The middle looks like a rocket, connecting to tunnels, slides, and other enriching areas. It's a great place for families to take their young children. On the other side, there's now a popular pickleball court area. It looks very distinct from the tennis courts interior, but they are connected. All the courts were filled and looked like folks outside the fence were waiting for their turn. Overall, it seems that the playground and pickleball courts have brought more people to the park and it's exciting to see the development overtime.

This newly renovated park has so much to offer. There is so much to do. All the kids love it. It has been packed every time we have come. Very cool space theme. There is parking on both sides of the park. At times can get crowded. There is also street parking. Not too much shade for the kids play area. Suggest having the kids wear hats. They did make shade to the side for parents or underneath the trees but not much seating. Suggest bringing a picnic blanket. Of you want to host a party they do have a large covered area with tables. They also have a walking trail.

Weekday Morning Play

Played pickleball midweek at Live Oak. The park has 8 courts composed of 4 permanent net courts (#1-4) and 4 portable net courts (#5-8). The latter courts are the furthest away from paddle holders where players put their paddles to reserve a spot for the next game (moves right to left). First time at these courts and the park has a parking lot and also off-street parking where you need to watch for the street cleaning signs. This a a fairly large community park that also has tennis courts and little league and larger baseball fields. Since I went to play PBall as a drop-in not knowing anyone at this facility, I started with some newbies and got easily slaughtered, 0-3 games against some intermediate players. The last three games I played with another visitor that was also an intermediate and played some good people and went 3-0. Was harder to pair up with a local player but I can understand as most people were playing with friends. Met a lot of nice people in my two hours of play. Recommend playing on courts 1-4.

We went to this park on Saturday. All the playground equipment is for kids -- some parents stayed nearby while others sat and watched. The facilities are new, but unfortunately there were too many people. Kids need to be careful while playing to avoid getting hurt. It would be much more fun on a weekday when it's not so crowded.

So we been exploring parks here and there with the little man and I must say this park forsure is top 5 so far outta all the parks I been to , this one has almost everything you need to keep the kids occupied from swings , to slides to even a Little Rock climbing area "ground based" it's nice as well the other end there's the soccer fields basketball courts etc . But definitely this park is a 10/10 for the kids if your ever in the area or close by take a stop by with the kids let them burn some energy it's worth it !

Enjoying the new playground. It is very interactive and my kiddo and friends played for almost 4 hours. They were happy to have the water bottle fill stations, and had it so close to the playground. We had to use the main community center restrooms. They were inside the a/c and it was cleaner than the ones that were outside. We will be visiting when it is cooler and during the week. Weekends were busy for sure.

This is a pretty busy park especially on the weekend. Tons of events going on but it's a beautiful, well maintained, and large park. Dogs are allowed now but not on the grass I believe. Walked my dog around the path and it was a solid walk and my doggo loved it. Plenty of trash cans around to toss doggy bags. Punchball court, basketball courts, and tennis/pickleball courts. Overall a good but busy park.

Ask the Community - Live Oak Park

I went to the park because we are in the nearby park?

I don't understand your question.

What time do the tennis courts close? Or till what time are the floodlights on?

It's clean and family-friendly, with plenty of room for kids to run around and for dogs to stretch their legs (on leash). The walking loops are great for a casual stroll or a longer walk, and there's a nice mix of open lawn and shaded areas to relax. Be aware that it can get packed on weekends--especially midday--so if you're looking for a quieter visit, heading over earlier or on a weekday helps. Overall, it's exactly what you want from a neighborhood park: pleasant, clean, and easy to spend a couple of hours in.

They also have open fields where you can play catch or have a picnic. They have some pave roads where kids can bike, scooter or rollerskate. They also have tennis courts on the side of the park and they also have lessons for those who were interested. Unfortunately, they recently implemented charging non residents during the weekends. I don't support this charge since public parks should be for everyone. Whether or not you are living in the city. Other than that come to visit during the weekdays when it's free!

This park is a great gathering and refresh place for the community of San Gabriel for leisure exercise nature walks for children and adults alike. There is a couple of playgrounds located inside Vincent Lugo Park, one of which is La Laguna playground with huge animal shaped installments for children to play & explore and a regular playground with swings & climbing/jungle gyms. Picnic tables are found some shaded some not, bbq grills, too. Additionally, there are covered tables and chairs as well for the community to hold parties or any kind of celebration. Walking paths are available, both cement & ground (clay-like). I noticed that there were a few sets of people doing tai chi-a few of them brought their music to coordinate their movements.
