I have been going to Rio Nails for years and have always received great service. Even when I show up without an appointment, they always accommodate me. The salon is clean and no chemical smell. The owner Lucy knows everyone's name and greets you as you arrive. I always ask for Cindy. She does a great job. I have gotten regular manicures, pedicures and gel manicures. I had an appointment for 330 and I was running late, I called and asked if it was OK to still make it. They said yes yes yes come. I arrived and within five minutes I was on a chair with my feet soaking waiting for my pedicure and my manicure to follow. I waited one whole hour with my feet soaking. I finally got up and left because I had made a promise to my daughter and I cannot break promises. I know it looked weird because they started to speak in another language. They probably thought I was leaving without paying for services but I just left. no services were done. Nothing to pay for. If they are busy and they cannot keep my appointment just tell me and I'll make adjustments don't just put me on a chair and leave me there without saying anything. I know it's summertime, I know it's busy, but just communicate with me and I'll move my appointment to another day that's all. read more

I just moved to NJ from NY and needed a place to get my nails done. They were clean and price wasn't overpriced. The owner Lucy did my nails and they came out very nice. The only reason I give 4 and not 5 stars is because I asked her to clean my cuticles and put oil on them because they were very dry and she must have forgot so I ended up cutting my own cuticles at home. read more

I got my nails done here twice and the last time the man kept telling me that the length i wanted my acrylics were too long! I told him i love the length and he took it upon his self to cut my nails a lot shorter! Absolutely disrespectful! He gave me an issue when I asked for new nails on because he disregarded what i wanted, which was long nails! He even had the audacity to charge me extra for that! Horrible experience. No nail tech should ever voice their opinion on what their customers want!! 0 stars if i could. read more

Pretty disappointed with this place. I waited a half hour for regular manicure (my choice, sure). When it was finally my turn, the whole thing was very rushed. If I'm going to wait that long, I expect a decent mani. I had red polish on my nails. I understand red can be difficult to take off, but it can be done. They have professional products after all! Next, she never asked me what shape I wanted, so I ended up with total squares for nails. Not a fan. Oh and she barely touched my cuticles. Then the girl buffed way too aggressively, and I already have kind of thin, weak nails, so I did not appreciate that either. There was no lotion, massage, or hot towel after that! I get that it's a $10 manicure, but c'mon, isn't that pretty standard in this business? Finally the polish application, oh boy. When the girl applied top coat to my first pinky finger, she decided that the polish was too sheer and really a third coat was needed. Again, this was after applying top coat to one finger. So she applied a third coat of polish to my nine other fingers, and when I asked if she could do three coats on the pinky finger, she brushed it off and said she thought it looked okay. You're not the customer! I asked her again for a third coat like the rest of them. Instead of taking the polish off since top coat was already applied, she just painted a third coat on top of the top coat, and then applied another layer of top coat! So that pinky finger had like 5+ layers of nail polish on it. And then the cherry on top of it all was that the whole manicure bubbled. Yeah, not coming back. read more

Unfortuntely, I have to update with a 1 star review. I am 99.9% certain(as well as my dr) that i received a fungus on my feet from this salon. I got a pedicure and very soon after had a fungus on my feet. Also, the girl who did my nails and toes(not sure of her name, but she sits behind Lucy)was VERY rough on my nails and toes, even though I kept telling her she was hurting me with the drill. Will NEVER come back here again. Twice I made an appointment with Lucy, the owner and twice she had this girl do my nails and toes. Not happy about that at all. read more

Very rarely do I have good luck finding a place that does Nails the way I like it. I've been going to the same people for the last seven years and I absolutely love them. This last year from time to time I would look at other nail salons but would never go through with it... Almost felt like I was cheating on my salon. LOL! But I knew I had to find something closer to home... So I went on Yelp I looked at the places in my area and this particular place got 5 Stars so I thought okay let me try it. Well, I have to tell everyone how much I love this place. Lucy the owner is wonderful! Soft-spoken, professional, excellent customer service skills. We had great conversation and I have to say I truly enjoyed talking with her. I found out that not only is her shop open 7 days a week but she is in the shop 7 days a week. The dedication was very impressive. She did a fantastic job with my nails... I get a gel French manicure every time. She did a beautiful pink and white for me and they're thin too they look most natural. She had the right amount of white to pink and she squared them and made them a nice length. It did take about 45 to 50 minutes but Lucy told me that now that she knows what I like it'll probably be about 30 to 35 minutes in the future. I think that's great! She is also involved with our community so when I asked her if she would like to contribute to a gift auction run for my daughter's school she was very kind and absolutely fantastic about it with a big yes. I asked her if I can leave some of my business catalogs in her shop she said yes no problem. Now looking around her shop she keeps everything so clean and so neat. I love the fact that Lucy and her staff line the pedicure sinks with a new liner every time someone gets a pedicure. Finally her pricing... Excellent and probably the best in the area. Lucy the owner is a sweetheart. I can't wait for a reopen. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this business. Lucy took over this business a few short years ago so is a relatively new owner. They take their time and do a great job. The only male worker here refills towels and cleans tubs. They use brand new plastic liners in the pedicure tubs with each customer and Ive watched him replace the dirty tools with clean new ones each time while I was getting my nails done. Just had a really bad experience here. Waited 45 minutes past our appointment time, then was seated at a nail station that obviously hadn't been cleaned. Dirty tissue and acrylic dust on the surface. Then the young male nail tech started using a dirty emery board (also white with acrylic dust) on my fingers. I was uncomfortable but not sure whether to say something. Next he starts bugging my nails with a dirty bugging sponge. Then, he pulls out a cuticle trimmer from under the counter--not out of the blue cleaning fluid right there in front of me--and I said "okay, you need to use clean tools on me..." so he pulls out an electric buffer (also from under the counter--not a clean sanding tip) to sand down my cuticles... not hearing the "clean" part at all. And that was it. I was like, "Ok I'm done. You guys need to clean your tools between customers." It was very busy and they were clearly just rushing and had abandoned any semblance of sanitizing. (If they ever did that in the first place--unclear.) The owner did not apologize or anything. She didn't even make eye contact. Hopefully these guys are usually better, but today's antics were a nail infection waiting to happen. read more

I have given this salon quite a few chances. Left with bumpy nail polish after a rushed manicure. They decided not to take credit cards today because my bill was under $20. A young child checked me out and was distracted because he was playing Minecraft. Wont be going back. read more

ive been getting my nails done here for a while and have had no issues its a very clean nice place however one of the workers there is terrible and completely ruined my nails- she also decided to use gel instead of acrylic powder, which i asked for; i asked for coffin shale nails and she said okay and they were complete squares; she rushed through my nails so quickly because they were busy that day which is no reason to do poor work; she filled my nails so horribly that when i just got them done it looked like i had them for weeks and weeks- this employee must be fired read more
