I made an appointment for a pedicure and showed up on time and got seated pretty quickly. The girl who did my pedicure, Courtney, was not very friendly and didn't seem to know what she was doing. She would say she messed up and acted nervous about what she was doing. When I asked her how long she had been licensed, she said she had not gotten her license yet. So I asked her how she got hired if she wasn't licensed, and she said her boyfriend was the manager (Ryan) so he hired her anyway. Anyway, she would barely talk and when she did, it was one word answers or minimal effort. Seemed annoyed that I was trying to have a conversation with her so I quit talking. I started going to Rio Nails because I had tried the other places close to me but I didn't like the service. Way too fast paced. I like to keep my nails simple and short because I type and cook A LOT! I booked my appointment with Kim and she delivered on what I asked for! Every single time I went in she already knew what I wanted. The front staff is very friendly, they make sure to get you signed in and sign you up for the rewards. I have enjoyed 15-20% off of my services from the rewards program and they even sent me a birthday gift card! They have lots of options for pedicures as well, very comfortable chairs and they offer you a beverage while you are getting your services done. They also have the hot stone massage for your legs, soooo wonderful! Every time I have gone they always have staff and I barely ever see anyone sitting and waiting. THAT is the best part. They are pretty consistent with their appointment times so if you have a busy day, waiting for someone to come available wont' throw off your schedule. read more

They took me in right away without an appointment and catered to me to make sure I was happy. They provided a drink and asked if I wanted a chair massage. Second and last visit to this place.... Where to start? My initial walk in was greeted nicely and told it was about a 10 minute wait. No big deal! Picked my color for my fill and shellac manicure and sat patiently.... a young lady walked in about 15 minutes later and asked what I was waiting for. Told her again was waiting for fill etc... she told me 10 minutes and to pick color which told her already did. She disappeared and then came back a few minutes later and proceeded to take my existing shellac off. Then transferred me to someone else..... the guy who did my nails did not clean the sitting area where the customer prior to me had left and did nothing like me asking him to clean it. No excuses ever for dirty workstation and especially during COVID....Again at this point should have left... He did not speak to me or ask any questions and seemed to struggle with shape. I honestly felt like they could have cared less for my business....He kept adding fill and now my nails are THICK! My nail beds are pretty tiny so I assumed he would file them down. He didn't. My thumbs are square on one side and blobbed on the other and no "manicure" was delivered. No cuticle trim no hand massage...i can honestly say I've NEVER had a worse nail experience..... check out the photos below and see for yourself. Buyer Beware! I can't help feeling ripped off by this place! Today I went in there for my first pedicure at that business. I bought the $50 package which included massage and extras. Service was acceptable- but here's where I am angry! When I was picking out my nail color they encouraged me to get the shelack color. "So much better". I said ok expecting that there would be a small up charge. They did the nails before the waxing and massage because the shelack dries so fast. I'm okay with that too. I gave them a good tip (I am normally quite generous) and went up to pay my bill. STICKER SHOCKWAVES went down my spine! They charged me an extra $25 for the shelack. So their price for the 45 minutes they took with me was actually $75. Further I had already given them their tip- so a 45 minute pedicure took almost $100 out of my wallet! RIP OFF! This is my go to salon but after today I won't be coming back. I got my nails done and they are horribly done, there's bumps and pieces of fuzz/hair on my nail you can even see the brush strokes. They seemed to be super rushed and it's not even the color I had asked for. Very upset. read more

I had the worst pedicure I have ever had. Today was my second time at this salon and will be my last . The first time i had a great experience with Philip. 1. The pedicure water was not even luke warm. Who wants a pedicure done in cold water? If anything the water is usually too hot . 2. The technician never changed out the wet slimy towel my feet were on after she completed the pedicure and moved on to paint my toes. It was gross! It should of been changed out with a dry /fresh towel. 3. Never offered me a drink like the ladies that came in after me were offered. 4. Another turn off was when i walked in there was a sign that prices had increased to offset their cost for protective equipment. I don't feel the customer should have to pay for that . I get my nails done at another salon nearby and they had no price increase . Just poor service all the way around . read more

I had to think on this for two days to decide whether to review or not, but decided to post in case it saves somebody else..my eyebrows were ruined here. A lady named (Cindy? I think) took it upon herself to wax my eyebrows a la Kate Moss the year of 1995. Instead of cleaning them up- I have two uneven lines of eyebrows that look like commas. It will probably take a year to have them back to normal. Not even eyebrow pencil, powder, nor gel can help these. Anyways- I'm giving this place three stars because I have had other ladies do a great wax and they are friendly people. I loved this place, it was clean ad the customer service was amazing. I got eyelashes installed for the first time ever, and I was so nervous. I wanted them to look good, but natural. Min Min was my technician and from the moment she and I met, I felt at ease. We discussed my goals and fears, and she was a wealth of knowledge and extremely patient. My eyelashes are so amazing, I love them so much. I was visiting from out of town, but I wish I could come to Rio to get my eyelashes done every month. Horrible service and experience. Save your time and find a better nail salon. Went there today to do a dip powder manicure. My nails were finally to the length I wanted just needed to have a new manicure. Few minutes after I got there, someone else walked in to get a manicure. The nail technician started working on my nails removing the old powder dip. As I sat there waiting for the removal, the nail tech started working with the lady that got there after me. I was tossed around like a ball. A male tech comes to remove the foil out of my nails. I had to tell him several times that my nails still had old powder residual. He seemed upset when I made the remark. He asked me if wanted to cut my nails, told him no, He immediately starting cutting them, I told him no again liked them long. I end up with 2 uneven nails, way shorter than the other ones. Then I get tossed to another nail tech, she completed the buffing to start doing the dip. She then starts using the wrong color, I selected a light pink nude color, she was using a light brown chocolate color which I immediately told her it was not the color I selected. She then started buffing my nails to remove the powder. I left the nail salon with uneven nails, pain on some of my nails from all the buffering, and a nasty brown and light pink powder combination. I don't usually go to this place, but I went there in April. All I wanted was the silver dipped nails that already had the glitter in it. The guy charged me $65 and I knew that it was wrong which is why I went back there the next day for a refund. Dipped nails cost $45 pretty much the same with other shops around town. He stated that he was charging for the glitter, but he did not add any extra glitter -- the glitter was already in the nail polish. I can't stand it when people try to cheat you and I pass this place every day on my way to work and back home and I get upset every time I think about it. Whatever happened to just simply being honest. I will never go to this place again. read more

You would likely assume that considering there's a nail salon literally every couple miles from the other, that their costumer service would be better. Young man assigned to work on my nails had to be called from the back multiple times to get started. He did not say hello or a single word- seemed annoyed to be there- just looked at me- I showed him an inspiration picture of what I was wanting hoping to get some suggestions or guidance- and without saying much he just handed me some nail colors to choose from, I let him know I was looking for a glittery pink and he states "well we aren't gonna have the exact thing you want". I am a pretty low maintenance mom coming in to get a relatively simple manicure as a treat. I left the place bc last thing I wanted was to deal with more rudeness in an already stressful world when this is supposed to be a self care type of experience. Wost nightmare ever! It was my first time getting my nails done and was the worst. I asked for something and they laughed at me every time i showed them a picture of what i wanted. They started talking and and laughing in their language after i told them that they were doing something way different on my nails of what i asked for. I went there to get a dip powder and a shellac pedicure. The nail tech ( Lilly) was helpful in helping me pick out the shade I wanted. She also did a good job shaping my nails however the color started chipping the next day and a day after two nails completely came off. I was able to go back and get them fixed however the guy who tried to fix them didn't really pay attention to the shape of my nails and filed them wrong. Now I have two almond shaped nails and the rest is oval. And even though he repainted them the color is coming off already. The shellac was fine nothing special. In short I paid 110$ for nails that didn't last a few days. I gave up I won't be returning. read more

I liked this salon. Everything is new and clean, and everyone is super nice. They also serve alcohol (in addition to the usual water and pop). I received a pedicure from Tony, who did a great job overall. He has long fingernails, so beware--his right thumb nail dug into my skin a few times as he was holding my foot. I will deginitelreturn, but will probably book with a different technician. Tip: They're offering 20% off for a few weeks, so now is a good time to scope out the salon and find your favorite technician. Update 11/9-Second visit today. Got another pedicure. Technician was very nice, but she cut my big toe digging out skin with the cuticle tool, making me bleed. She acted fast with the stuff that stops bleeding, so that was good -- but a scab does not pair well with a nicely manicured foot. Anyway, glad they're still offering the 20% discount so that I didn't have to pay full price. There may be a technician there who would be a good match for me, but after two attempts I'm giving up and going back to my previous salon. read more
