The family had a lot of fun here. The boulders were a little challenging for the kids at some points, but they made it. Many kids under 5 will need a lot of help. Kids over 5 may need help at some spots too. It was fairly easy to find the musical rocks, and it was a really cool experience. We were playing the rocks for about a half hour or so, and then finished with a hike to the waterfall. The hike itself is quite easy, so very kid friendly. Parking lot gets crowded. When we left there were cars parked on the road outside. So I'd recommend arriving early in order to get a park.

Some call it mysterious and unusual others say its a natural phenomenon! Its ringing rocks park. Located in beautiful Bucks county. It's a park which features a small hiking trail and also a boulder park. Make sure to bring your hammer so you can hear the large rocks make a sound! My being overrides my doing and me being immersed in nature reminds me of just that. Everytime I'm in nature, I'm grateful to observe the natural movement of the waterfall gracefully flowing down the stream. The peace and harmony of the trees swaying while the birds sing, brings a natural stillness to my space and energy. Overall this park is family friendly. The hike is no more than a mile which loops around to discover the breathtaking waterfall. Parking is easy, just simply park in their parking lot and have great fun and exploration.

Fun way to spend an hour or two. Bring a hammer and listen to the different "ringing" sounds from the different rocks. Parking is VERY difficult, and traversing the boulder field can be treacherous. Some nice trails to wander after you're done banging the rocks!

This park was a bust. We visited the park only because we had been told the main attraction is the ringing rocks, so we decided to go today with the family and kids. Parking was a bit tight, but it is free. We walked over to the ringing rocks with a 10 minute walk and there it is a sea of rocks in the middle of the park.. i guess is all about the marketing. The rocks have different sounds depending on size and wether they are flat against ground or on top of other rocks. Nothing amazing and definitely not worth a 2 hr drive from Bayside , Queens. We happened to be in the area visiting a friend and we figured we go for a walk. Well on top of that today there were a lot of wasps on the park, so we got stung by them, 2 adults and 1 child got several stings, so we end up leaving the park right away.

What a fun place! We went here in the dead of winter, it was coated in snow and still beautiful and fun! I can only imagine how gorgeous and awesome this place is in the summer, we will definitely come back once it's in full bloom. We happened to be in the area so wanted to see it. There's ample parking, porta potties. Short walk to the rocks, posted map with the trails, there's a waterfall but we didn't walk to it, next time! Bring a hammer!

I was not sure what to expect on this trip but I had such a great time and I'm so happy my friend suggested that I bring a hammer. It's not very long of a hike up to the rocks and there is also a waterfall and longer hiking trail nearby.

Beautiful place to hike! Really enjoyed hammering the rocks!

Loved ringing rocks! We brought our hammers and played some jams on the rocks :) then hiked and made our way back up to the waterfall which was absolutely beautiful

Pretty cool Boulder field. We drove for over an hour to get here. It was a pretty scenic drive though, very nice. There isnt much to do here besides banging on the rocks with a hammer. I'm glad we took the ride. I'd come up again if there were someone who's never been here wanted to come. We stopped for lunch in Frenchtown afterwards it was a pretty good day. I suggest it completely. There are also picnic tables if you wanted to do that. Very nice.

Is it the best boulder field in PA? No, that's reserved for Hickory Run State Park. Is this place even a state park? No, but it gets more visits than most that I've been to. Is the parking situation sort of crazy especially on weekends? Yes, but don't let it deter you. Is the Port-O-Pot super sketch? Hell Yes! Is the waterfall currently all but gone already until Fall/Winter? Sadly, yes. With that said, bring the hammer/don't be a dumbass by wearing flip flops/have a great time.

That's a lot of rocks! This is a cute little park though there isn't a ton to do. There's the iconic boulder field which is more visually pleasing than one would expect. It's also much harder to navigate than it looks so make sure to bring sturdy shoes and maybe a walking stick. As of today's date the waterfall that's often spoke of has run dry. While disappointing, it's now possible to walk in it's dried up bed so that makes for an interesting experience. While it's a cool natural wonder, I'm docking points for lack of facilities, lack of activities (hitting rocks gets old after a while), and their terrible parking lot which is cramped and practically hidden. Also there's tons of screaming children. It's worth a look, not something is really go out if my way to see again though.

What do we say? Bring a hammer Bang on rocks Pray that you don't need to use the bathroom You have the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. So the thought that one of the other visitors is a hammer wielding psycho and help is miles and miles of bad cell reception away may cross your mind. More than once. Bring the family and enjoy. Go to "Bobolink Dairy" Farms after for cheese and the "Ships Inn" for Lunch, both about 10 min away.

Brought a hammer and tried out the rocks, they really do ring! It was so much fun to climb the boulders. The loop hiking trail which is represented by a white dash on trees takes you past multiple waterfalls that are very beautiful. Would go again. There was a porta potty in the parking lot with picnic tables.

The start of a four day weekend found my wife and I taking a ride to Ringing Rocks Park. 295N up to rt. 32 on P.A. Side. Great Fall day for what I say is "Leaf Popping" with a hike and Waterfall. Scenic ride along the Delaware River through various towns. Watch those speed limits as 25mph is common throughout the ride. Enjoy the colors as you slowly wind your way up to Upper Black Eddy and the Park. Ample parking as people come and go. Accommodations are a "Johnny." A short walk down the trail is the rock field of boulders. A place to bring a hammer and pound away! It's the different sounds each rock could make that's so appealing to many. Watch your step please. Continue on down the trail towards the Waterfall which is a small hike to see. Look around, be careful, and make sure to "pack it out" A fun time out, especially in the Fall. Check it out.

Very easy to park as there are multiple parking lots along the trail. The trail offers glimpses of the river & has a lot of beautiful wildflowers & different kinds of tree's along the trail. Very few port-a-johns & the one's we encountered were not clean. Other than that, it's an enjoyable trail.

If it seems like you've read this one before it's because maybe you have. On Yelp my best guess is…read morethat there's three or maybe even four different listings for Delaware Canal State Park. Why so many you might ask? Well it's because of the park's sheer size. DCSP is a sixty mile long towpath that runs from Easton down to Bristol. That's obviously a hell of a distance and there are tons of access points along the way which is why there are so many listings. If you're using the towpath in New Hope that's one listing and if you're using it in Easton that's a different listing due to the large amount of mileage in between. What makes this park so special? DCSP is the only remaining towpath that is original in it's appearance, size and distance to when it was constructed in the 18th century. The towpath runs parallel (but not always visible) to the Delaware River. It's also one of the few parks if not the only park in the commonwealth's system that runs by or thru several other state parks. The ending terminus in Bristol is somewhat close to Neshaminy, it runs right thru Washington Crossing while being fairly close to Ralph Stover and Lake Nockamixon. This also says nothing about the two or three county parks which DCSP runs by. As if this weren't enough, right across the Delaware is the even longer D&R Canal Trail which parallels the river on the NJ side. There are a few bridges were you can cross from one side to the other but they're spread out. The main activities are hiking and biking but there are obviously endless amounts of possibilities for fishing, boating and canoeing. No hunting except for limited archery deer hunting. Too many houses either way to close to the towpath or literally on the towpath for anyone to be getting their Ted Nugent on. We usually hit the trail primarily at the Durham Aqueduct parking area as that's super easy where 611 meets up with 212 or every so often we go down to the Washington Crossing area to dork it up 18th century style by visiting some of the surroundings in that area. Kudos big time to PA's Department of Conservation as they do a great job keeping a whole lot of trail looking really good. No matter where you choose to join up with the towpath there's no bad place and you'll understand why especially on weekends this thing gets so damn crowded. #No-Brainer Visit

My first review by campfire light…read more I came along with my boy scout son for a weekend at Tinicum Park in Erwinna, Pennsylvania, just across the Delaware River from Frenchtown, New Jersey. It is not a big park, but has a simple camp facility in an Ash grove a few hundred yards from the water. I remember campout food as being oddly delicious, even with the extra grit and rustic outdoor kitchen, but these days with lightweight stoves and propane flex lines, the campfire is just for night stories. Cooking is much easier, if somewhat less rewarding. Still, I don't think I'll ever get accustomed to deep fried Oreos. The Chicken Tenders and Penne with Ragu were decent after a hike into Frenchtown, and several hours of scout skill training, football, and boys being boys. I even found about 90 minutes to break away and return for R & R at the National Hotel and The Bridge Café while the boys were off on another adventure. Those reviews to follow. Tinicum may not be the first place you think of when considering an upriver jaunt, but if you are into a night or two of roughing it (with a run to Ftown for cocktail and lunch overlooking the river) than it might be the perfect spot to make magic happen.

    Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary

    (4 reviews)

Let's bring this one up to the current…read more Since my last ramblings on Mariton, thankfully, very little has changed with one exception. That exception would be for the past two years the sanctuary is closed on Mondays for maintenance. Also, and admittedly this is technicality, the hours for the preserve are not set in stone like the Yelp listing indicates but since there isn't an option for sunrise to sunset, whatever. For every time I've come here and checked in, I probably forgot to check in and least twice as many times. Point being I've been here a good bit over the past six years and I've seen basically every trail, some a lot more than others and thankfully nothing with this has changed. If you're looking for paved, groomed or manicured grounds you're not going to find that here. Everything is kept up with by the caretakers but it's also overall in a fairly au natural state which means random rocks, tree roots, mud, leaves all over the place as it should be. Aside from some Spring and Fall weekend afternoons, there are never more than one or two cars here and more often than not there is no one. In twenty plus visits maybe I've seen other people on one of the trails two or three times. Aside from some squirrels and birds over at the bird blind feeders, I've never seen any wildlife here although you would think this would be a hot spot for deer, fox, racoons, etc. Although no trails here are terribly long, there is some variety between the mostly flat Chimney Rock, Woods and parts of the Main Trail to the River Lookout and Turnpike Trails which comparatively have far more incline. Overall still a great spot especially in late Fall/Winter to go out and turn up the quiet in the middle of nowhere.

Grab a paper map and ask your kids to navigate to different areas of the sanctuary. There is an app for this place but that's cheating.
