The absolute coolest place to be - if you love rocks that is! They sing :) be sure to bring your hammer or a spoon to tap the rocks. Great location for some day hikes with the dog or fam. Make sure to stop at the Homestead for some ice cream afterwards! read more

Fascinating place. Walk to boulder field isn't even 1\4 mile. We forgot our hammer so found some smaller rocks and that worked just as well. Totally forgot about the waterfall, will do that next time! Picnic tables and port a potties make things easier. Lovely drive along the canal/tow path as well. read more

We brought a Hammer and found a lot of Rocks that seem hollow in the inside but was very heavy . We brought a Small grilled and I was in charge and the chicken was banging.. The surrounding was very clam and busy but at the same time still quite others then the sounds of dings from everyone hitting the rocks. Next time I will visit I will mediate for a Longer time . read more

It's free, it's clean, it's outdoors. Bring a hammer and take a walk toward the waterfall. Bring your own snacks and water and you'll be good. read more

Great place to spend an afternoon walking around. Don't forget to walk down to the falls! for those that don't know this is the remnants of a volcano from millions of years ago. The reason they ring is due to the amount of quartz ion the rock. read more

A bit of a hassle to find. It was smaller than expected. Once in the park there aren't any signs and the layout isn't apparent so the whole place seems even smaller than it already is. The rocks do ring though, just bring a hammer. The rocks won't ring themselves. read more

Great place. Nature at it's finest. Lots of space. Not a lot of people. Weird phenomenon. Good scrambling natural playground. Make note that you should wear sturdy shoes and if you want to get around on the rocks it takes some sure footing, i.e., not good for elderly or small children. Though there are some peripheral rocks that are easy to access. The rocks are just a short walk from the parking area. The waterfall is just a little further down the path. It is dry in the heat of summer but pretty fascinating to walk up the river bed. read more

Fun for anyone old enough to walk on un-sturdy ground! Unique place. Go at least once and don't forget your hammer! See the waterfall but it may not be super impressive if it hasn't rained recently read more

OK, This sounds crazy, weird, completely counter-intuitive, and pretty stupid. But the rocks DO ring. Really - like banging a big hunk of steel with a hammer, they really DO ring! UNREAL! The kids spent a good afternoon walking around the boulders and banging them with a hammer. We found some made different notes. Be sure to bring a hammer with you. The facilities were closed, so only a stinky port-o-let was available, so bring whatever you need with you - pack it in, pack it out. But it was a great, no cost outing for the kids. read more

We frequently visit Ringing Rocks because it is a safe quiet walk. It puts your head into perspective seeing the wonders of nature. Great for kids and families. You can bring a snack and warm your self in the sun and enjoy. read more

It just wasn't for us. If you have mobility issues-forget it. It's more for the young-keep them away from the poison ivy! The waterfall(more like trickle) was certainly not worth the effort. read more

A nice place to visit with a hammer in each hand! It has a well marked, organized loop parking area in the woods, lots of picnic tables, and a port-a-john, regularly maintained. Wheelchairs are only able to go from parking to half way to the boulder field, because the path becomes more 'littered' with rocks. The (ambulatory) 88 year old in our group held our hand while walking back to the boulder field, and was fine sitting on one while we spent 10 or 15 minutes banging on rocks. That was enough for us, and we were off again, to find Alba Winery, very close by. read more

Nice park. Just be wary of the parking lot. Vandals have been routinely breaking vehicle windows and stealing possessions. Do not leave car unlocked or valuables inside. Better to park somewhere else than to leave a vehicle unattended. read more

Like B.T. said before me, it is a field of rocks. Interesting place to visit. If you're looking for hiking I think you should go elsewhere. Bring you hammer and bang on some rocks and then follow the trail to the water falls. That's it not much else going on here. As for the bathrooms people were complaining about, I saw a porta potty in the parking lot so I guess they have it covered now? read more

Bring a hammer and get there early it tends to get a little crowded towards the afternoon.

Enjoyable! Kids love the "ringing rocks" (as long as you're careful with walking)! Beautiful hike to the waterfall!

On a great Fall day, it was awesome walking the trail, seeing the colors of leaves and climbing rocks. Wish we had a hammer to ring them, but was an awesome sound to hear when other people around were hitting the rocks, wish we had time to see the waterfall. It was great exercise and best part was its free!!! read more

Great park. Clean parking area, and just a short walk to the rocks. Wear flexible and comfortable shoes. It's a bit dangerous walking around from rock to rock. Take your time and don't forget your hammer. At one point several people had some great ringers and the tones were lovely. I wanted to orchestrate all the timing so we could make a song! read more

While this area has a lot of great things to offer (Tinicum Park, Lake Nockamixon, and the Milford Bluffs) Ringing Rocks is by far one of the most beautiful places to go. If you go at the right time you can climb over huge boulders, hitting them with hammers to make them ring, and catch the sun set over the huge boulder field and through the trees. It is probably one of the best views you can experience at Ringing Rocks. Another great time to go, is after a rain storm. There is a waterfall to the right and down the path of the boulder field that changes size or even disappears completely depending how much rain there has been. Whether there is water or not it is still a peaceful and beautiful view. It is a weird feeling to go when the water fall is roaring, to being able to sit right on the ledge when there is no water flowing. Every season of the year has it's perks, but my favorite is fall. It is so peaceful as you sit nestled on a boulder, with yellow, orange and red trees and leaves around you, listening to the water falling, or the animals around you. Ringing Rocks is great for family outgoings (just be careful with little ones), dates, or adventures with your friends. I would recommend closed toed shoes, bug spray(sometimes), a hammer, and a camera to capture all the fun. I personally like to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and capture natures beauty with my camera. Ringing Rocks is a definite must go to! I always tell everyone to go there, and they all love it! read more

In short, a fun unique feature to bring the kids. We walked over the rocks for about an hour then took the path down to the water fall / washout. When we went, the waterfall was little more than a water drop... very little water was flowing... Still... all in all a good time! We took a hammer and sampled many rocks. The sound is very unique. See if you can find different pitches and make a tune! Make sure the younger kids hammer some rocks on the path down to the field so they can have an idea of "normal" sounding rocks getting hit with a hammer. Additionally, this park offers the kids the ability to climb over large boulders... something they seemed to love to do (mine did). It makes a fairly easy family day. It seemed to also have picnic tables for you to carry in and carry out. Parking seems tight, we went early and parking filled up quickly. A large sign marked "trail" is the clue which way to go after you park. Bring water with you, there is none available at the park. The walk is easy for 10 year old children to do and the trail grade is very manageable. I did not need, but also did not see bathroom facilities in this park. Worth the trip... a good time had by all. Recommend you bring sneakers. I found the rocks can be tricky in flip-flops. It seems fairly popular destination -- lots of people go to it but is clean and fairly well run. read more

This was the first stop of Rental Car Rally. We had to go there as the checkpoint and take a photo in full costume to prove that we went. This was about 12:45a and we failed to read the sign that said park closes after dark. We ventured into the park in search for the ringing rocks. Please note that it was pitch black and pouring rain. If you plan on doing something like this, it would be a smart idea to bring a flashlight. Also when the rocks are wet, its rally slippery and one of the guys fell on those rocks like there's no tomorrow. It was quite amusing for everyone but him. When we finally got to the rocks and decided to take one back as a souvenir, we lost our way in the darkness. After 15 minutes of freaking out and thinking we would be slaughtered by Jason, we finally found the parking lot again, but only to be greeted by a police car asking us why we were trespassing dressed as the 4 characters from Wizard of Oz. He let us go with a warning, and said that taking the rock is stealing from the park. read more

Fun, adventurous, beautiful. You can see many rocks throughout the trails that people have been hammering for years. Beautiful area where water fall used to run. Feels like you're in a story. read more

Great place to spen time with the family. Great trails that lead up to a waterfall ! And of course dont forget to bring a hamer to hear the rocks ring . read more

I went to ringing rock while camping in the area, I had read reviews and was excited to take the kids. I was not that impressed, the area was not possible to navigate with small children. I have a 8, 6, and twin 2 year olds the landscape made it impossible to walk without the fear of snapping an ankle. We all wore appropriate hiking foot wear and the terrain was not ideal for hiking with small children. the area is pretty and great for older kids but not for little ones read more

definitely a cool place to stop by there are nice trails for hiking but if you really want to hear the rocks ring bring a hammer. if you bring kids just be cautious of ankle rolling. read more
