My husband and I were so excited about the delicious food that I didn't take pictures. The…read moreFantasia salad is a magical way to serve a salad--try it for yourself. The fagotinni with pears and Gorgonzola sauce is my all-time favorite Italian dish--and this version was first-rate. The chef is not only a master in the kitchen but also a warm and inviting host.

Honestly have had better Italian food at the worst Italian places in the middle of nowhere America…read more The service was meh--asked for a beer and never received it. Normally tables are plated with bread, olive oil, vinegar, and cheese--we were given something close to flat bread and prosciutto topped with olive oil on the table... but not quite the same as what I'm used to as an Italian who has eaten in many places across the world. Ordered a tortelli and it was practically flavorless... the pasta was under cooked and the shrimp over cooked. Friend ordered a black truffle risotto and again flavorless. Likely no salt in the food and absolutely no cheese offered... I am shocked by the meal/service because it wasn't how Italians eat or how Italian restaurants serve meals. A week prior we had Italian food in France and it was leagues above this place and not as expensive as this place. If they had spoken better english I probably would not have paid... I don't recommend coming to a restaurant that cannot focus their menu nor provide the authentic and flavorful food they're meant to.

I had one of the ham sandwiches (boca jamon iberico), and it was actually quite good! The ham was a…read morebit fatty, and they cut them up into these thin slices, but each bit even with the thin pieces of ham, was really rich because of the combination of the fattiness and strong flavor of the ham. This was one of those cases where a little bit really did go a long way. Overall a surprising find and if I lived in Toledo, I wouldn't mind dropping by here in the morning to get a sandwich and go.

We were recommended to come to this shop by our tour guide. Apparently this shop is supposed to be…read morepretty popular amongst the locals? It has a huuuuge selection of jamon (vacuum packed, freshly sliced, if you're up for an entire leg you can do that too) and you can also buy sandwiches here. My sister and I dropped into this shop in the afternoon to pick up some jamon iberico de bellota (acorn) after hearing so many good things about it. There was definitely a language barrier between us and the shop keeper but they were able to help us find what we wanted. We originally just wanted to get a few hand cut slices on the spot but we wound up getting the vacuum sealed kind to take back to our hotel to eat. Let me tell ya something- jamon iberico de bellota is the absolute bee's knees. Even my sister who isn't usually into cured meats was super into it. There's something about the flavor and the depth that is amazing. I highly recommend getting a pack to try out! Overall, I highly recommend coming by this store to check it out! It was a tad warm in there when we went inside so it smelled kind of odd but just look/buy from the refrigerated sections lol
