The Papardelle with mushrooms and a poached egg was exquisite. Pasta was perfect and fresh as can be, and the sauce was creamy but not too overpowering. The menu here pulls a fusion of Spanish fare and modern Italian food. They have all traditional modern dishes with a touch of non-traditional but in a very good way. I got the prawn risotto which tasted very good after a long day of walking and visiting Madrid. My partner ended up getting a lasagna and it came out in it's own small iron cast pan. For an appetizer, or tapa if you will, we got a nice warm soup bowl that came with a side of dehydrated veggie chips (all homemade). It was the perfect warm and cozy meal for a unseasonably cold and rainy Madrid evening. Even the fresh parm came out in a small iron cast tiny dutch oven/pan that was adorable and very on brand with the modern decor around. There is a wall, in one of the seating areas, that has flowers in olive oil so nicely displayed and perfect for a picture background. Service was timely and we were even offered a shot of liquor before we continued our night by our waitress. We had to decline because we were so so full of pasta and food and satisfied.

I didn't think much of it at first but thought this place must be good if it makes its own pasts. I asked the waitress for her recommendation. Then the chef came out and recommended these two dishes: Starters: Caprese di bufala classica Mozzarella de bufala con tomate fresco y albahaca (It came with a complementary freshly thinly baked bread with herbs and rock salt) The buffalo mozzarella was so fresh, covered with herb dressing and filled with cherry tomatoes. All the ingredients were fresh. Main: Ravioloni porcini e trufa nero The first mouthful was an absolute bliss! I demolished thereafter. This place is fairly quiet, but it's definitely a hidden gem. I've tried and made many pastas in my life but the main blew me away. I may come back and try another hand-made pasta. Full marks for me.

I think even the fancy italian chain restaurant couldn't hold a candle over this tratorria. There was something familiar and cozy about this place, it wasn't pretensius and trying to be too italian in the middle of a Madrid barrio. It was just it. And the foooood!! Ordered Pappone (pesto pizza) and Vesuvius (the tuna pizza) and vegetable lasagna. I swear if it doesn't take you to those lovely day in Rome or Naples then, I don't know what will. Definitely a place to eat good food with good friends, I like how they have italian wine and drinks to go with it. A glass of chianti and pesto focaccia? You're in Tuscany. Something sweet? Try the panacotta with strawberry. I'm definitely coming back again! Oh and did I mention that the service was nice? Just try to come before eating time and safe yourself some space to sit. The place fill 20 person seatings comfortably and just with enough homey ambiance the bar next door kinda feel.

Made great suggestions for Italian wine and beer. When she brought a tasting plate with mortadella and a bread basket she pointed out to our celiac son that his GF bread was on the way - and wow! He was so impressed with his own warm HF baguette (separate packing clearly showed it was GF) Basically the entire Italian menu has available GF options which made dining a delight for my son (probably over ordered for himself but had snack for the next day!). Delicious pastas (bolognese was so tasty!) and pizzas (crisp and chewy crusts on both regular and GF). Every part of our evening was delightful.

They provide an appetizer which is a pickled ham (unfortunately I do not like pickles, wish I had an option to pick)! They offer Italian water and beer. The beer was nice and crisp. The ambiance was very nice and cozy. I would definitely return here again. I was able to order right away and received my food pretty quickly.

It was cooked perfectly. The dipping oil that they bring with it is a must try. It just gives it that extra special flavor. We followed that with each ordering a pasta dish. Just an FYI....one pasta dish is enough for two people. That is if you can agree on the same pasta dish. We didn't know the proportions before we ordered, but we were happy to take our leftovers home. I ordered the Rigatone with Mandorlata (creamy mushroom and almond sauce). Can I just say WOW? The flavors melted so perfectly together and had a little sweet flavor (from the almond sauce) and I just couldn't get enough of it. My friend, Don ordered the Campanelle with Tartufo al parmigiano (cream sauce with black truffles, parmigiano reggiano and fried egg). The black truffles were not over powering like some restaurants use them. He describes it as a rich taste, perfect pasta and well balanced. We ended our meal with Don having the cappuccino and I had the lemon sorbet. Put it on your list if you are looking for some Italian.

Honestly have had better Italian food at the worst Italian places in the middle of nowhere America…read more The service was meh--asked for a beer and never received it. Normally tables are plated with bread, olive oil, vinegar, and cheese--we were given something close to flat bread and prosciutto topped with olive oil on the table... but not quite the same as what I'm used to as an Italian who has eaten in many places across the world. Ordered a tortelli and it was practically flavorless... the pasta was under cooked and the shrimp over cooked. Friend ordered a black truffle risotto and again flavorless. Likely no salt in the food and absolutely no cheese offered... I am shocked by the meal/service because it wasn't how Italians eat or how Italian restaurants serve meals. A week prior we had Italian food in France and it was leagues above this place and not as expensive as this place. If they had spoken better english I probably would not have paid... I don't recommend coming to a restaurant that cannot focus their menu nor provide the authentic and flavorful food they're meant to.
