Soy meat taco ($3.25 each), vegan by default. Great tasting. Good texture.

Rincon Mexicano offers good vegan tacos, fresh food and friendly vibes. Pro-tip: Rincon Mexicano is different than Taqueria El Rincon, a couple hundred feet away. Taqueria El Rincon is in the same building as an Aldi and has no vegan options; Rincon Mexicano is in a free-standing stripmall. It's confusing on Google Maps. The veggie chorizo tacos ($3.25 each) are vegan by default and excellent, which nicely-seasoned chorizo. Take a pass on the similar, but different, veggie chorizo with potato tacos ($3.25) which are blander due to the potatoes neutralizing the seasoning. The soy meat tacos ($3.25) are excellent with great texture and seasoning. We also liked the french fries ($2.75), which I can never pass up. Lastly, the pico de gallo with chips ($4) feature superb homemade chips and fresh pico. You can't go wrong. Stop by Rincon Mexicano for some of the best, and most authentic, vegan tacos in the Twin Cities.

Carne asada (thin slices of steak), rice, beans and salad.

Quick ordering from a hole in the wall. Take out or eat there. I love their verde (green) sauce. Just the right degree of spiciness for a gringo. I even ordered a quart made fresh to take home. Make a tortilla and dip it in the sauce or simply pour it on the rice, beans and steak. The numerous slices of thinly sliced steak was amazingly seasoned. At some places the steak can be tough. Not here. This place is hidden in a small strip mall behind another small strip mall. Good luck in finding it.

Ohmigod. I am SO glad this place is here. I went to my park-n-fly hotel in the middle of generic corporate chain nowhere, and the restaurant options were dismal. Then there were these reviews on Yelp ... It is so out of the way. It is at the corner of a hidden sub-sub section of a barely perceptible strip mall. But bright and welcoming. And WOW when you walk in the door is it fragrant. You can't help start salivating - - roasted corn, a waft of garlic, searing of meats - - this place smells FANTASTIC. A lot of take out business, but I sat down and asked to see the menu. The gentleman said they are out of menus, but have pictures - - and the pictures are a Who's Who of yummy options from the $2 tamale to the bistec combo plates. I am a fan of sopes, so asked for the sope plate with pastor and carne asada. It is clearly his wife who brought it out, and she is virtually running to keep up with the pace of things, but with a sweet, warm smile and a bit of a giggle, nonstop. It came pretty fast, and was immensely satisfying. The red salsa is hot, the green more tame, and slathering them over the sopes till the whole dish was awash and aflame with flavor made for a great, great meal, for under $8. Why not 5*? Because I've had somewhat more fragrant sope shells, more tender meat, more aromatic salsas (and I take "as good as it gets" seriously) - - but the the flavors, the satisfaction, made the visit totally worthwhile. And the restaurant experience here is so genuine, so alive, so vivid, that it makes the rest of corporate chain hell out in these parts seem like a mortuary.

Best tacos in town, good prices, great customer service and the place is always nice and clean. Newly remodeled dining area. This is my hidden gem for a great lunch.

Well well well, hidden gem here. I must say I was surprised about this place. So I'm looking online for a co worker and I to get some good tacos for taco Tuesday and came across this place on yelp. Read the reviews, saw they had $1 tacos, was sold instantly. Not only is this place cheap, the tacos are really damn good. And the salsas that they give you to put in the tacos, awesome. The green is my favorite, so much flavor. The only hiccup, the tacos were small, so I needed to eat 6 to fill me up. Your paying $1, remember that. And they do $1 tacos on Friday too. I would love to check out their dinner menu sometime. Super small place, I believe there was 4 booths and that's it. So don't "expect", to dine in. Because those 4 booths go quick. I highly recommend

Friendly Mexican restaurant hidden behind Ace Hardware store. I got Menudo. My Menudo had a little spicy hint, not greasy or food colored, plus fresh cilantro and amazing flour tortillas!! My beef and barbacoa tacos are also very tasty, wish they have more taco options though, especially fried tripes.

A wonderful little hole in the wall restaurant. Delicious food with a wide variety of options. I absolutely adore their tamales among the best I've ever had and they run a special on them on Wednesdays. My husband loves their nachos. Our daughter constantly wants to go here. Lots of gluten free options if that's a concern for you.

When we went in, it was completely dead, which should have been a sign, but I figured it was Super Bowl Sunday. I will say, the Michelada was delicious - if you haven't had one before, it's like a bloody Mary made with beer (I recommend Pacifico) instead of vodka. This place has the most variety of Micheladas I've ever seen, and I will admit it was delicious - the added shrimp was a bonus. However, the waters were slow to be refilled, and it's not great since this is a salty type drink. However, there were no obligatory chips and salsa, but when we ordered the nachos, we were also not offered salsa, but I made sure to ask anyway. While they weren't bad and the portion was just right, the ground beef was extra greasy, and it made the chips a little soggy. Next, I ordered the chimichanga to be on the safe side, and had ordered it with ground beef before the nachos came out. Of course, it came out greasy again, and without salsa. The cheese was at least good, if the overall dish was a little bland. I think I'd go back for drinks, but I'm not confident about much more.

I had so-so birria tacos (no consomme, single soft-corn tortilla) and so-so horchata (served in a sealed bag that looks like an IV pouch, actually kind of funny), along with a tasty and particularly juicy elote. My friend got the Asada Mulita and he quite enjoyed it. That seemed like a good deal for $9, and $4.90 per taco for what I got is okay. The ambiance absolutely does not rise above what you would expect from an unremarkable, utilitarian convenience store with a few tables that aren't routinely wiped down. You can order online (highly recommended) or from a screen near their covered-up window. Whenever a food place is clearly hiding its employees from its customers, I'm nervous that I will be ignored. But someone was constantly popping out and asking people what their names were, and telling them how many minutes they can expect to wait. (Waiting = standing next to the salty snacks shelves.) I see now that they have Al Pastor Chicken with Pineapple Pico and I definitely want to come back and try that. Maybe I'll raise my rating if I love it. Meanwhile, I'd recommend considering this at least for the experience, but order ahead and expect a 30-minute wait. Also note that they close at 7pm.

The tacos and quesadillas are solid and definitely worth trying, but I've been disappointed with the burritos and the pork al pastor. The carne asada burrito looked substantial at first, but it was overwhelmingly filled with plain white rice, which made it feel bland and not what I'd expect in terms of flavor or balance. The pork al pastor was even more disappointing. It didn't resemble traditional al pastor in taste or texture. It was overly sweet, lacked depth, and the pork itself was extremely dry, unfortunately dry enough to make it difficult to finish. There are still some good items on the menu, and the service keeps me open to giving them another try but based on my experience, I wouldn't describe the food overall as authentic or five-star quality.
