Right in the center of town with ample parking spaces, meter free. The 1st thing I noticed was the restaurant sign went from green to red, it alternates colors. It is surrounded by other restaurants and shops. Inside is a bit small but they made the best of it. Each booth is surrounded by plexiglass for covid. It has a very cool vibe, just very small. I couldn't imagine going here with a large group. Close to the Airport The staff: They all seemed pretty nice and on point. I walked in to get my food it wasn't ready so I stepped outside when I came back in they were on it. I saw the hostess sit a few ppl while I initially waited to get someone's attention. The food: It was really good, being Cape Verdean rice is a staple in my culture so it is the hardest thing to get from anywhere is rice because if it isn't done right it is very disappointing. I had Choros a la Chalaca and Arroz con Pollo at Rincón Limeño. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Food was overall OK. Choros a la Chalaca had "Leche de Tigre" on top. Typically, the mussels are covered just with onions, lemon juice, cilantro, etc. The taste of fish in the Leche de Tigre overwhelmed the mussels'. The rice in the Arroz con Pollo was tasty but a bit dry. The chicken was dry and with no much flavor. The dish came with a side order of Papa a la Huancaina which was OK. This place has delicious Peruvian food. I highly recommend the Bistek a lo Pobre and the carne empanadas, both were so delicious. I also enjoy the sauces that they give you for the table, it's an assortment of hot sauces and their pink sauce (mix of Mayo and ketchup) they taste amazing with the beef. The portions are huge (including their appetizers) so be sure to order the correct amount. I also got an espresso martini here and it was so delicious. Everyone was friendly and the restaurant did have adequate COVID precautions in place- there are dividers for each table. This place does get kinda packed too. I was blown away here. This meal was as good as any that I had in Santiago, Chile just last month. I could just as easily have been sitting in one of those restaurants as I was here in Boston, the food was just that good. I had seen the ceviche on Yelp and on their menu. Easy enough to point to that and ask for a Pisco Sour to go with it. The drink arrived first and then the huge platter of ceviche next. Fresh shrimps, fresh fish and fresh octopus, all cooked with the acid of many citrus fruits. It was amazing. And the garnish? Yeah, you'll want to eat those too. For an authentic and affordably delicious taste of Peru, Rincon Limeño is the spot. Although it may be a trek for some to get out to Eastie, my friends and I agreed that for the quality, experience, and price, RL wins the coveted Peruvian food trophy over Machu Picchu in Somerville. They have Golden Cusqueña beer bottles for $5, which is the perfect accompaniment for the deliciousness to come. Our group of 7 started off by sharing 2 causas rellenas, a cold potato-chicken salad-hardboiled egg concoction that sounds gross but is actually really tasty. It reminded me of a better take on the potato salad your aunt always brings to a BBQ. These are actually quite filling, so we didn't finish both of them. They were served with a small plate of lemon slices along with a red and a green sauce. It's unclear what the sauces were, but the green one had a great kick and really went well with the causa! For my meal, I went with the spicy ceviche mixto. The PLATTER of fresh fish, squid, and shrimp accompanied by two types of corn, thinly-sliced red onions, boiled potato, and sweet potato was a fantastically large portion and everything tasted divine. The spice in the sauce gave it a nice kick without overpowering the seafood. Honestly it was probably one of the best ceviche experiences I've had -- and I've been to Peru! We also ordered an order of tostones for the table which came with white and pink sauces (they must really like sauces in Peru!). Other dishes that were ordered (and happily devoured) were the lomo saltado and the tacu tacu con mariscos. I had to sneak a bite, and the yellow sauce on the tacu was other-worldly! Again showing that the good chicos at RL are sauce masters. When our friendly waitress started describing the desserts, we already knew what we wanted: ALFAJORES!! An order is a plastic take-out container filled with these exquisite shortbread cookies sandwiching dulce de leche and covered with powered sugar. They're so addicting that you can easily eat 5 of them in one sitting. So we ordered two boxes. I consider alfajores Oreo's Latin, more delicious cousin, and you simply can't leave RL without getting some. I took my sister here because she loves Peruvian food. Since Eastie is a trek for us, we wanted to make the most of our visit so we ordered a ton of food. We started off with the mussel cerviche app to share. For entrees, she got the saltado lomo with an egg on top and a side of maduro. I ordered myself the cerviche mixto. We walked out of their finishing half our plates and having to unbutton as soon as we got to the car, the portions were huge! The ceviche mixto is a must-have -- the marinade is perfection, and the sweet potato and corn are lovely accompaniments. My other favorite dishes are the Tallarines Verdes (yummy "pesto" pasta with grilled steak) and the Seco de Cabrito-- a Peruvian lamb stew that is the epitome of comfort food. Even the beans by themselves are top notch. And of course you can't skip the pisco sours! With no Ecaudorean restaurants in the area to my knowledge, Peruvian seemed the next best thing, so we opted to bring our guests to Rincon Limeno out in East Boston. It was a Sunday, so I ended up parking in a spot that seemed to be permit only till 6pm on weekdays. A soft incline led up to the front door of the narrow storefront, which is great for wheelchairs and baby carriages. And they also have baby chairs so I deem them family friendly. They accept reservations so we were quickly seated despite the crowd hovering by the door. We shared a selection of appetizers. It was fun to realize that sliced hot dogs and french fries (Salchipapas $9) were a traditional food in this culture, served with a sauce made of ketchup and mayonnaise. Spicy eaters at the table enjoyed both the red and the green sauces plated at the table while our resident young'un happily sucked on a lime wedge. The Calamares Fritos (Fried Calamary with salsa criolla) $12 was a nice shareable portion of the tender creatures. There was also a beef stuffed potato pastry, though I preferred the crisp crust over the soft filling. To finish, a few of us needed something a bit more. I purposely picked the Seco de Cabrito (Peruvian style lamb stew) $12 off the hot tapas section of the menu (and was proactively offered the head's up that the portion was small) which arrived as a nicely shaped mound of rice topped with a bean stew and a single meaty lamb bone - just fine for a light appetite, which was all I had by this point. A vegetarian at the table opted for the first item off their vegetable section, which sounded awfully plain to my ears, but was rather tasty with bright colors on the still crisp tender vegetables. She also enjoyed the way they flavored the dish. We had brought in a cake for our celebratory evening out, and one of the staff kindly put on gloves and offered to slice it up for us once we were done with taking pictures. Yes, service here was a highlight. As for an after dinner show, just as we stepped out the door and onto the sidewalk, a plane flew overhead and oh so closely, on its way to land at Logan airport. read more

If you're looking to broaden your culinary horizons, I highly recommend digging into the delectable Peruvian fare at Rincon Limeno. The enormous menu features so many delicious-sounding offerings, from light, fresh ceviche to chicken in an addictive spicy, cheesy cream sauce (aji amarillo sauce), to meat and potato paradise. As an added bonus, the menu also includes pictures of many dishes and brief descriptions for those of us (like me) who are curious, but unfamiliar with the cuisine of Peru. I called in a takeout order, and opted for the plato montanero, a heaping helping of food that hits all the high points. The dish included grilled steak, fried pork belly, white rice topped with an egg, fried plantains, a bowl of beans, and a small salad (got to try and eat healthy, right?) There was so much food that I struggled to even lift the takeout container! As an aside, and a bonus point for the restaurant, the takeout bag included plastic cutlery (you'd be surprised how often restaurants don't include that). The smells emanating from the takeout bag had my mouth watering in seconds. I started with the salad (get the healthy part out of the way) which was fresh, crisp, and completely forgettable. Nothing wrong with it, just nothing special about it. It came with a "thousand island" style dressing that was perfectly fine. Veggies devoured, I opened up a bowl filled to the brim with beans. They were swimming in a thick, brown sauce and smelled heavenly. The flavor was on point, very rich and meaty, and the beans still had some bite to them (they hadn't been turned to mush). The flavor was similar to refried beans. But the entrée itself was calling my name. There were so many different foods to try, I didn't know where to begin. The fried pork was deliciously crispy, but it is very, very salty, so be warned. The piece is a little tough to eat politely--you basically have to gnaw the fried bits of pork fat off the bone--but I had no problem doing that. It was worth it for the delectable morsels of deep-fried goodness. The plantains were also delicious. They were sticky and slightly sweet--not overpoweringly so--and the insides were very tender. They have a unique flavor that I'd describe as a cross between a banana and a potato--quite tasty! The rice itself was nothing fancy, just plain, white rice, but the egg on top proved to be a handy addition. Breaking the yolk and mixing it in with the rice created a very tasty treat. The rice also soaked up some of the fat and juices from the beef, which imparted a really great, meaty flavor. The steak itself was delicious. It was quite thin, but grilled perfectly. The meat was tender and seasoned to perfection--not over-salted or over-seasoned. The chef let the meat speak for itself, and it's "hamburger-esque" flavor really shone through. It was tender enough that I was able to cut it with my cheap, plastic knife. The portion was very generous, too. The portions of everything were generous. This is the perfect meal after a day of mountain climbing, as the name suggests. It left me feeling content and ready for a food-coma-induced nap. There are a lot of restaurants in East Boston, but don't pass this one up if you're looking for something different. Finally went here after years of it being on my list! First off, the portions are huge and we went home with leftovers. We came for a lunch reservation of five. The restaurant is fairly small but also has patio seating. We sat inside in case the rain came. For appetizers, we had mussels and ceviche. Both were very large portions and super fresh. They brought us a couple different sauces to add for spiceyness. I ordered the pesto pasta that came with steak and yucca. The steak was grilled, thin, and perfectly juicy. The waitress accidentally switched our orders and served us the wrong dish, which we realized only after digging in -.-' but once we switched plates we were VERY happy with our meal. While the restaurant is kid friendly- they offer high rise seats- the place is quite small so guests around us seemed a tad annoyed by the playful kids with us, probably because of the proximity. When they first opened you'd walk up to the counter and place your order. There was beer and wine available in a glass refrigerator next to the counter. Before we went I checked out Rincon on yelp and fell in love with the picture of the tacu tacu. For some reason I knew that I had to have it. When it arrived...it was destiny.
