I've driven by this place so many times, but never stopped. I tried a simple carne asada burrito with rice, beans, cilantro, and onion. Their green salsa was a perfect mild sauce, while the red was smoky with a good heat. The tortilla was heated well and was chewy yet held up, and the ratio of meat to veggies was good. In all, I thought it was one of the best simple carne asada burritos in the area, and a decent value. The restaurant was clean, and the ladies working the register were very nice and positive. I just devoured a carne asada burrito from this place and it was so good. Got the hot salsa and it definitely has a kick to it! Super good experience overall. Best Mexican takeout around! This family-owned enterprise exceeded our expectations and the value is incredible. I needed easy catering for a group of 35 and after shopping around other restaurants how best to do this (e.g. boxed lunches from a Panera or similar) decided to go with what our family already knows to be really great (the best, honestly and we are such food snobs) enchiladas. We ended up getting massive trays of enchiladas y tacos (they were super generous with all the fresh lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, cheese, two salsas, pico de Gallo (all salsas and Pico very fresh and outstanding) generous chips, napkins and utensils, etc. All under 400$ - - amazing. Just came by today to order a carne asada burrito. One of who appeared to be the owner was busy on the phone but the other lady was just sitting chatting while I waited. My order instead was taken by the kind cook who was very helpful. The burrito had good flavor but disappointed that they filled it with so much beans that you don't even taste the meat or other ingredients. Dude. Not good. The red sauce was straight up pato from the can. The asada was fatty and chewy. Tacos were alright, pretty baseline. The menudo was this places only redeeming dish. I had to church up the broth but some of the pieces that came off the bone were outta this world. There was only like 5 or 6 pieces of tripas floating around in there too. I have been craving some Asada Gorditas since returning from Mexico in March. Did a search online and glad we did. We found Rincon Azteca and decided we give it a try. The Asada Gorditas were BOMB!! One of the best I've had. The wife got the steak picado. That too was just as good. Place was small but clean and cozy. The staff was great and very welcoming. We are definitely coming back for more. I already told my compadres that were are taking them to Rincon Azteca for gorditas. I also text a friend who lives in Claremont to tell him about this place, it was that good. read more

Okay so it's my second time eating in Claremont. My stepdad took me here. And I had ordered enchiladas. In total we had got enchilada platter, two tacos, and caldo de Rez. For a total of 27 dollars I think it could knocked down two dollars. The food quality was ok. Nothing special and nothing that me me think "I want to eat here again" deserves a 2.5 tbh. Meat is chewy, beans needed a bit more lard, and needs a new recipe for the rice. Uses jack cheese for the enchiladas. It's ok. Nothing more nothing less. read more

Customer Service: Lacking. I came in the morning around 10am on a Saturday. Didn't receive a hello, welcome, nada. Had no idea the man sitting and chatting with a customer was the owner. Stood at the register and he slowly got out of seat like I was interrupting his conversation to come and take my order. Also, as I waited, the customer the owner was speaking with, got up from his seat, walked around to the side of the kitchen area to pick up his mulitas from the cook. Unsanitary much? -1 star Food: Ordered a cheese enchilada plate that comes with refried beans and Spanish rice, guacamole (that everyone has said to order), and a side of chips and salsa. Owner informed me that they didn't have guac that day. Bummer, I guess I'll have to wait until next time. Asked if I wanted lettuce, tomato, sour cream on my enchiladas to which I replied, no lettuce. Refried beans were definitely from a can, could still taste the metal. -1 star Rice was good, no carrots or peas in it. The cheese enchiladas were good, red sauce was a little on the salty side, but not an issue for me. Wish there was a little more sauce, I'll ask for extra next time. The owner handed me my to-go order in a bag and I proceeded to check and make sure everything was there. Had a large bag of chips but no salsa. I wasn't sure if what I paid for only included the small salsa/condiment cups at the bar, so I asked and he apologized and gave me a good sized styrofoam cup. Salsa Bar: Total of 3 salsas and pickled jalapeño. The chunky mild red salsa was full of onions, cilantro and tomato. Delicious. The spicy red salsa was very spicy and I added it to the chunky and the green also had a good flavor and was more on the medium spicy side. Place is small, has about 5 small tables, they use a square tablet machine to process cards. Make sure you pick up utensils and napkins on the counter because they are not given to you on to-go orders. I liked the enchiladas better than most places so I'll come back for those and probably order double rice, no beans. Maybe I'll get to try the guacamole next time. read more

My brother-in-law discovered this restaurant which has Guadalajara style menudo and other Mexican dishes. I try to come on Saturday for the medudo with everything possible in the bowl. The tortillas are fresh and the condiments are prepared that day. That makes this the best local menudo that I have found. They are reliably delicious. I order from them once a week and have had a range of menu items, everything is authentic and great. They always follow my weird special requests and never make a mistake - I can't say the same for other restaurants. And with one person in the family being a vegetarian, it is important to never find meat in the food, which this restaurant is always great about - again, not something I can say about other restaurants. It seems to be a family run business. I hope they stay around forever because it is one of the only restaurants I don't get tired of eating on such a regular basis. I crave the food! read more

I came here starving just right after climbing Baldy. So I randomly drove into this place and found myself ordering a hurache and carne asada as the meat. Hurache is just the same thing but a different tortilla its thicker and shaped like a sandal which is the literal translation of the "hurache". Within less than five minutes its ready! I tried to devour it as fast as i can cause its a holiday and they close at 2:30pm (i arrived almost 2pm) but i failed finishing it cause its just too much for me at that time. What I enjoyed about the place are the clean vegetarian beans, not lard soaked slop. The chile relleno platter was served hot, fresh, and full flavored.
