Even though you can buy Kathy's products in Peoria, we made a day trip of it. We bought about 18 jars of various jellies, jams, salsas and her famous pickled beets. My favorites were the habanero salsa and jalapeño jellies. We had a good visit. She's a charming woman ... a one of a kind.

The only thing I would point out is that they tend more towards flavored teas, so if you are a tea purist, that's probably going to bother you. Fortunately for me, I'm not! I am a huge fan of both their Tali's Masala Chai and their Moroccan Mint, which is heavy on both the spearmint and the peppermint. Also worth noting that if you are used to buying from Teavana, a comparable tea is roughly twice as expensive. Another plus in my book! I'd love it if they had some hot water and a seating area on hand but they're not really that kind of shop. Maybe the local coffee houses will start carrying a selection from them!

This is such a cute store to visit when you are looking for either yourself or to give as gifts. Or, you can just pick out a bunch of fun items that you want to enjoy (which is what I did)! I think the store itself is super charming, but when it is super busy, it can be stressful to navigate as the aisles are not wide enough and if there are too many people inside, it can get challenging to walk around. Just be patient and don't be afraid to look at everything on the shelves to see what kinds of fun items you may want to try. They have loose leaf tea behind the counter for you to purchase too if you want to try something new and different or you can get some pre-packaged tea (so many flavors to choose from)! I can't visit here and not walk away with some bourbon glaze sauce and/or some tea and this time I even purchased some mulling spice for the holidays.

We contacted them and on day one notified them that we sold on Amazon. We were informed that not only where they a GMP facility, they also confirmed that they work with "several" Amazon sellers. After they collected over $10,000 from my company we learned that they not only did not work with "several" Amazon sellers, they in fact did NOT have an accredited GMP certificate. After over 3 months of them kicking the can down the road and saying that they were actively working to resolve my issue, they finally came back with their solution. Their solution was for my company to pay an additional $8000 to get Cheryl's Herbs accredited. Yes you read that correctly. They want MY company to pay for them to become accredited so that they can make products under the guidelines required when we bought from them. Just know that their GMP is worthless when it comes to 3rd party verification. We are now left holding the bag after all their empty promises.

Not what expected... (quick bite India food)…read more.. But- this Bazaar was packed full of India's groceries and produce to make my visit interesting. My only quick grab was a chocolate and coconut biscuit that was only $1 with tax. (The ice cream looked tempting, but having a blood test this week.) The produce included some I didn't quickly recognize. A wall of rice was stacked against the back wall. Shelves of spices were offered in the middle of the store. A small freezer section is against the wall to the left. . Overall- I felt like I was a welcome visitor in an intriguing strip mall location.

A no-frills produce stand, with a variety of in-season produce. But this place stands out for the friendly shopkeepers and the spice selection is enormous! Literally, an entire corner of the store is dedicated to various seasonings and dried herbs. And, they even pre-mix their own seasoning mixes like Carribean Jerk and Applewood Smoke Rub. Also, if you are looking for specialty items, there is a good chance you could find it here. For instance, I've been hearing a lot about chia seeds, but I had no idea where I could find them. Lo and behold, I got a bag full here, and you can find coconut flakes, various dried fruits and nuts, specialty oils, local honey, salsas, and dressings. What I always get when I stop in: Amish Apple Butter. Silky sweet spreadable apple goodness. I could eat it out of the jar with a spoon!
