Even though you can buy Kathy's products in Peoria, we made a day trip of it. We bought about 18 jars of various jellies, jams, salsas and her famous pickled beets. My favorites were the habanero salsa and jalapeño jellies. We had a good visit. She's a charming woman ... a one of a kind.

This is the THE place for unique and useful kitchen items. They carry a lot of high end products: Le Creuset, Swiss Diamond, Joseph Joseph, Peugeot, and many others. The shop itself is unique, in an old, brick home between 8th and 9th on Kentucky St. There are gadgets and goodies tucked into every nook and cranny, from the glassed-in front porch to the very back of the house. If you enjoy cooking or just enjoy cool stuff for your kitchen, you will find plenty of eye candy here. In addition to the gadgets, there are a number of gourmet coffees, teas, seasonings, spices, dry soup mixes and unique canned goods that are difficult to find in grocery stores. It's surprising I have never taken one of their cooking classes, but they have a great space for them and you can even organize your own event for a wedding shower or birthday. The only thing I wish they had were small electronics, like coffee makers and grinders. It's a little surprising they do not carry chemex coffee makers or pour-overs. These items would be great additions to the store, although I am sure they would be willing to order them for you. Bottom line, it's a unique kitchen store, fun to explore, and pricing is good. I needed to check it out. They do have a parking lot in the back on the side road. I was on a hunt for pastries otherwise I would have went into the front entrance. They have a restaurant setting/full bar in front which I did not try yet. But I know they do brunch here as well. I went to the bakery section in the back, where the lady who worked here was super nice and friendly. Gave me so much information. They had little chocolates. More flavors than you could imagine. Peppermint bars, Cookies, and candies. I bought a cinnamon roll because holy hell, the cream on it looked so bomb. And I bought a half dozen cupcakes. Each cupcake was around $2.25 each. They looked crazy. I had to buy them. I bought an Oreo cream , some peanut butter bliss, a wedding cake and s'mores flavored cupcakes. They were beautiful. The people who make these things put a lot of work and effort to not only make a cute spot to go to in Quincy. But also so you can bring their hard work home with you to share with your family and friends. Will be coming more often!
