I'm travelling, and I'm an early riser, and I've gotten really tired of bad coffee and indifferent road food. I saw that Mimi's was open at 6 am, so went in the hopes of finding a really good cup of coffee and some breakfast. I ordered an oat milk cortado and a breakfast bowl (hashbrowns, bacon bits, egg, cheese). Both were great! The shop itself is welcoming and you can tell that these folks are paying attention to the details. If I weren't gluten-free I would have ordered a couple of pastries to take with me on the road, but I am completely happy! Definitely worth a stop.

While I stood by the cash register at least 3 different ladies behind the counter passed me by. Not one greeted me or asked if I had any questions or if I wanted to purchase anything. There were no other customers ahead of me or behind me. And there were at least 5 employees all shrieking and laughing in the kitchen and having LOUD personal conversations amongst themselves. Finally someone came out and instead of saying anything to me she just stood and stared at me until I told her I wanted to order something. I ordered a salmon and broccoli bowl and a dirty soda. My wait was not long. The food and drink was surprisingly very good and the place is clean. While I wanted to come back another time and try their coffee drinks I just couldn't get myself to due to how painfully awkward it was to order here. The feeling I got was that customers are a burden.

He helped us find a flavor we liked by offering us samples. We ordered a peppermint bark ice-cream in a fun colored cone, pineapple strawberry sorbet in a cup, and s'mores ice-cream in a waffle cone. Murphy held down the fort after his coworker left and kept everything in the store running and clean. 5 star experience!

I had to have the Chewy Brownie again, it was even better the second time. I tried the vanilla for my dog and it was really good. And she even loved it too. I also tried a bit of the peanut butter delight and it was so bright of a flavor. Totally a place to check out with family and friends!

A wonderful chocolate shop in historic Hannibal While…read moreexploring historic downtown Hannibal, Missouri, we decided to stop by Chocolaterie Stam. The shop is conveniently located within walking distance of many of Hannibal's attractions, making it an easy stop while we were exploring the area. If you're spending the day visiting the Mark Twain sites or strolling through downtown, it's well worth adding this to your itinerary. The first thing that struck me was how beautiful the store is. It has an old-fashioned feel that fits perfectly with the historic character of Hannibal. The candy displays inside the shop are attractive. The shop is spotless, and the entire place has a warm, inviting atmosphere that encourages you to slow down and browse the many selections in the cases and on top as well as a lot of the historic memorabilia along the walls. . Since this was our first visit, we weren't familiar with the different chocolates and specialty items they offered. Fortunately, the staff was outstanding. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely patient as they answered our questions and explained the different chocolates. As we were leaving, I noticed a tour group from one of the Mississippi River cruise ships arriving at the store. That immediately told me this was one of the places visitors to Hannibal make a point of experiencing, and after tasting the chocolates, I completely understood why. The chocolates were excellent,. The prices were also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the products and the exceptional customer service we received. Overall, this was one of our favorite stops in Hannibal. Between the charming atmosphere, outstanding staff, delicious chocolates, and reasonable prices, Chocolaterie Stam is well worth a visit. I would certainly recommend it to fellow travelers looking for a memorable treat while exploring this historic river town. Enjoy!
