Everyone was super nice and they were able to accommodate my allergies and even let me check a few things for the ingredients they used to make sure we were safe. I like a little bit more depths to my coffee, but for a local joint with locally roasted coffee, I was completely happy to support them and their business venture. I would probably come back just for the vibe to go sit with a friend and chat more than anything. It was in a fun little spot on the corner in downtown Quincy. Thank you so much for the suggestion. I ordered a "loaded" roast beef sandwich, and paid to upgrade to a Philly with peppers and onions. I also upgraded to the district chips and dip. I ended up throwing it in the trash it was so disappointing. For $15.24, the sandwich had no cheese, the roast beef portion was very small and the meat was super dry. It was quite a departure from the description of "marinated and slow roasted beef, PILED HIGH with melted provolone." The onions and peppers I paid extra for were abysmal - maybe 2 slivers of each. Additionally, the district chips and dip I upgraded my side to were terrible - the chips were chewy and stale and cheese (while flavorful) was congealed.

We unknowingly arrived 30 minutes before close, but the staff was super nice and welcomed us in with no rush. It was still pretty full inside and made for a nice, chatty place to go with family or friends. The menu definitely had something for everyone- all of the options looked great, so it was really hard to choose what to order! We started with coffee before ordering the garden frittata and the biscuits and gravy. The coffee was actually very good- they had a seasonal hazelnut flavor that I really enjoyed. I was expecting the frittata to be fluffy like a quiche, but it was more like a circular shaped veggie scramble. It was pretty standard, but definitely hit the spot. The sourdough bread served alongside was outstanding, however. It tasted super fresh and very homemade. The biscuits and gravy were very flavorful and not too greasy. Given the portions and quality, the price is very reasonable. Would definitely return and recommend making a visit!

The only thing I would point out is that they tend more towards flavored teas, so if you are a tea purist, that's probably going to bother you. Fortunately for me, I'm not! I am a huge fan of both their Tali's Masala Chai and their Moroccan Mint, which is heavy on both the spearmint and the peppermint. Also worth noting that if you are used to buying from Teavana, a comparable tea is roughly twice as expensive. Another plus in my book! I'd love it if they had some hot water and a seating area on hand but they're not really that kind of shop. Maybe the local coffee houses will start carrying a selection from them!

I dropped in on a weekday, late morning, to grab a jolt of caffeine before heading out for a hot, busy afternoon. The co-owners were on site: Margarita was behind the counter and Bill was reading a book to a child nearby. The spacious room was dotted with a few other visitors, including a table of women having a lively conversation. A Sade LP was playing on the hi-fi, and as side two ended it was replaced with a snappy jazz record. The café has many food options; I chose a house-made pastry that was perfectly flaky and well-balanced. My iced latte was just right too. I sat for a bit to review some papers I'd brought, and noticed plenty of seating options. Several tables along a wall had access to outlets, for those who need to plug in devices. Margarita brought my order to me and we talked awhile (it turns out we have mutual friends in Quincy) and she happily shared her experiences of growing her business. She also pointed out the books available to read on-site, as well as the paintings on the wall by local artists. Most are available for sale.
