Many of the reviews call Riko's pizza "thin crust" - and that's true, but the name for this style of pizza is Bar Pie. Connecticut Bar Pie to be exact, but bar pie is enough. Made famous by legendary Colony Grill in Stamford, CT, former Colony employee and pizza slinger Riko took the famed delicious recipe and method and went out on his own. First in CT and then landed in White Plains, where I welcome them with open arms and a hungry stomach! We got takeout for our first go at Riko's and the pies were no worse for the wear after a car ride. There's one pie that's a must-order: the hot oil. Marked by a yummy green signature "stinger" pepper to let you know you're about to try a pie that's impossible to stop eating until it's gone! Normal order for my brood is 1 pie per person, please. Pepperoni and sausage pies are yummy, but if your palate can handle it, get the hot oil. For maximum but delicious burn, order the "stinger" pie. Always on the hunt for good pizza...actually one of my comfort food holy grails There are certainly no shortage of places to go in proximity to White Plains where I live a few months out of the year Most spots are just kinda mid tier, & I find I have to cast a wider net to hit on exceptional pizza that is truly a cut above the rest My touchstone is Johnnie's in Mt Vernon an old school Italian thin crust joint that is considered by many to be the best pizza in all of Westchester So it was with great curiosity & measured expectations that I went to Riko's a new fast casual pizza chain located in the Crossroads Shopping Center in Greenburgh After doing some preliminary research, what appealed to me is Riko's offers a fully stocked bar as well as a proper assortment of beers on tap Wifey & I always like to sit at the bar whenever we visit a new restaurant. We believe it's the best way to get a full measure of a place & get good intel We perused the menu & ordered a cocktail & IPA, both were good We noticed they offer a happy hour menu & felt it would a great place to hang after work and very convenient for when we have to make either a Pet Smart or BJ's run...both of which are located in the same center We settled on sharing a six slice 13" personal pie...half plain & half custom (sausage, olives, & basil) Our pie came out fairly quickly. It was piping hot & had a wonderful thin crust The sauce, cheese, & various toppings were on point! We were impressed that for a chain pizza spot, the service & food quality was quite good I would rank Riko's on par with Frank Pepe's (Yonkers) We definitely plan to return & try some of their other menu items like their nice assortment of salads Finally would like to give a shoutout to our bartender & manager at Riko's ...who made our experience truly enjoyable & is a great ambassador for the brand read more

It's great to have a pizza place in the neighborhood where you can sit and enjoy a pie right from the oven, and maybe enjoy a salad, app or glass of wine along with it, all prevented by friendly servers. For those reasons, I liked Riko's Pizza. But the thin, thin, THIN crust pizza is just ok. And like our server told us on our first visit, "You'll likely eat more slices than usual" because it's so thin. But I kind felt like a glutton gobbling multiple slices before I felt full. Monday outing with my husband. We were immediately greeted when we entered. I informed the hostess that I'd like a booth and was offered options to sit towards the front or back. We chose the back since we didn't want to deal with the draft from the door opening. Within a minute, our waitress provided menus and came back a minute later asking for our drink order and if we needed more time. We had a great experience as our waitress was very attentive. She came by several times asking if we needed refills and how our food was. My husband got a beer and said it was very cold. We will definitely be going back. read more

Service was warm and friendly, I was able to get some favorable suggestions from staff, i went with the hot honey pepperoni minus the ricotta and plain, it fresh and delicious the thin crust is perfectly sized i could have eaten all six slices but just ate 3 and will take home the rest. read more

I fully recognize this place has only been open for seven days, but this was an abhorrent experience from start to finish--one of the worst we've had. We walked in and waited several seconds without being greeted, eventually having to awkwardly ask for a table ourselves. After sitting for over 20 minutes with no service, we had to flag down a waitress just to order drinks. Anywhere else we would have walked out, but we really wanted to try this place. Beers and water took another 15 minutes to arrive and didn't even come out together. We ordered two apps: wings with extra blue cheese (important detail) and a Nashville chicken salad. After a long wait, the wings arrived with two sides of blue cheese--one normal cup and one filled only about a quarter of the way--followed by one of more than a dozen "sorry about that" remarks and a promise that the salad would be right out. At this point, the waitress informed us that three waiters had quit that night and also blamed delays on the power going down, which was literally a one-second surge--so which was it, staff quitting or a power issue? When the wings arrived, we ordered two pizzas (hot oil and sausage). After another 30 minutes, we still had no salad, no pizza, no plates or silverware, and no check-ins. All around us, other tables were complaining about long waits or having to ask just to order, enduring more "sorry about that" apologies (which should honestly be their slogan). We also witnessed the owner berating a waitress right next to our table. The pizzas finally arrived--fine, nothing exceptional--but still no salad. More apologies and another promise it would be right out. Five minutes later, the salad arrived and was unbelievably not worth the wait, but we were starving. While we were actively eating and holding slices of pizza, the waitress asked if we wanted dessert or boxes. Throughout the night, nearly every table around us was complaining. The owner stopped at almost every table except ours to check in and apologize, and we overheard him telling others the delays were due to the POS system going down from the power surge--even though those tables arrived 45 minutes after that happened. We got the bill and paid on our phones, and while I never expect compensation, I was surprised that not even a single drink was comped given how clearly frustrated we were and how new the restaurant is. The final kicker: the only time the owner came to our table was to ask if we had paid our bill. While this is a brand-new restaurant with staff that clearly has a lot to learn, it's equally clear the owner is also new to the restaurant business. This was a real disappointment, especially given the lack of new restaurants in the area, and it's definitely not a place we'll be returning to. read more

Both my wife and I felt we have had better frozen pizza than what was served here. It was tasteless at best. It looked like someone went over it with a tenderizer to give it pockmarks . The hostess asked if we wanted a booth or table and we responded booth. She then led us to a table and asked if it was alright. Went here for the first time today. Never heard of Riko's before. Had the special pie of the day: Clam Fra Diavolo. Wow!! I found the red peppers a bit too hot for me, so took them off. But wouldn't order this pie without them because the heat they left behind on the pie was just perfect for me. Thin, crispy crust is very different from the NY pizza I've eaten all my life, but what a nice alternative. Sauce and toppings very tasty, and so light. Turned out today there was an "extra" special: order the daily special and get a free plain pie to go. Had a slice of that one as soon as i got home. Yum! My server was very nice and helpful, since I wasn't familiar with the choices and so on. She made the experience extra good. Entire staff were lovely from greeting, seating, thru saying goodbye.
