Absolutely amazing pizza! It's Utica style. Which is different than NY style. The crust is a bit thicker and it's a bit saucier. But, it's pure delicious. There aren't many places to eat near the Burke Rehabilitation Center but this spot was a great find. Times are limited so we waited for 4:00 and it didn't look open, but it was! We ordered over the phone and picked up in store. We were greeted and treated really nicely by the owner. Even prior to knowing I was going to make a review, he gave us a few free things with our big order. Online, things seem more limited but when you go in the store, he has a large drink variety. Also some desserts. We ordered two large pies, which was too much for just 5 people. (One would've been enough, especially with his cool cutting technique) Along with fresh garlic knots and 20 hot wings. Everything tasted great & had enough for left overs! I've been meaning to try Utica Pie Co. for a while now. I'm admittedly pretty picky when it comes to pizza; growing up in the Bronx I am a loyal NYC thin crust person, but do enjoy exploring other varieties as well. I went to college in Albany and a number of my classmates were from Utica, so I'm somewhat familiar with the cuisine from the area like tomato pie, chicken riggies, and Utica greens. Since Friday night is pizza night, I thought now was as good a time as ever to finally give UPC a try. For the time being UPC has somewhat limited hours - they're open four days a week for only four hours at a time. However, the times they are open seem to match up with the highest traffic times for takeout, so they seem to be optimizing as much as they can. Per their COVID guidelines, they are not letting anyone in the actual store, instead having you pick up your order at one of the floor-to-ceiling windows they have up front or via curbside delivery. The menu is mostly varieties of Utica style pies - the classic tomato pie plus a few other varieties. They also have wings, garlic knots, and other regional cuisine like the riggies. Instead of the classic pie, I decided to go with one of their specialty ones - the Catherine Street looked good so I went with that. It was a white pie with garlic and scoops of ricotta on top mmmmmm. I also wanted to try their garlic knots so I got an order of those. They have the option on their website to order in advance, which I took advantage of. I decided to pick up my order, and after placing it was told it would be ready in 45 mins. The pie was very good; it had that thicker crust that I expected and generous helping of ricotta. Notably, there was a LOT of garlic on the pie which I was loving (look at my tagline on my Yelp profile ;-). The knots were excellent, some of the best I've had in a long time - again lots of garlic yes yes yes. Overall, I had a great experience at UPC. The ingredients are high quality, and I appreciate the different offerings they're bringing to White Plains. While nothing will replace my love of the thin crust, I would definitely return here to try more of their pizza. read more

Went in for lunch at noon, they were ripping out pies for online pickup orders, but seated us right away. We were served quickly. The owner Sal was front and center. He was friendly and willing to answer questions. After speaking to him and realizing his passion for his creations, I knew I was going to like the food. He had to run away for a minute to prepare some dough for the next day. But came back out to check on us. We ordered the Upside Down Pie with Sausage and a 100 year old recipe Tomato Pie perfected in Utica, NY. The quality of the dough, consistency, flavor and chew, combined with a tomato sauce that grandma would love. A bonus was stumbling onto some spectacular Wings, which are much needed in our area, house sauce, crispy and wet, Anchor and Duffs esque! This place is fantastic!! read more

This pizza isn't your average slice or pie. The cheese pizza has subtle hints of rosemary that make it oh so delightful. The pepperoni is thick cut and artisanal quality. The sauce has a nice balance and you can taste how fresh it is, while still offering a wonderful depth of flavor. The crust though! Run don't walk. It's as if a focaccia and pizza had a crispy doughy love child. It is exquisite! I live close to many places that are supposedly the "best pizza." Utica pie gives them all a run for their money. This newer establishment has a "different" type of pie, in the sense that it's not your typical NY style. It's more like a hybrid of a Greek/NE & grandma, apparently a.k.a. a "Utica style" pie. I haven't ventured too far off the beaten path yet, only having tried two of their "plain" staples: the original Utica pie and the upside down pie. Both were very good and, if you're hungry, you could conceivably inhale a whole pie in one sitting because these two pies are light on cheese, and thus oil. Most notably, though, is that their buffalo wings are unreal. Admittedly, I've always found Candlelight as a whole to be extremely overrated, and their wings to be just average (sacrilegious talk, I know), but these wings are far superior in terms of taste and probably freshness. Really happy we tried Utica Pie Co! The pizza was amazing. Crust was unusual looking and I was skeptical at first, but it was so flavorful and delicious! Generous portion too. We ordered Albany Street, one of the Utica Pie Company specialty. Broccoli, sausage, garlic, fresh ricotta I think. Perfect amount of spice. It's also conveniently located near Daido, our favorite Japanese grocery store that fully stocks sushi grade fish all the time. Will definitely go back for another! read more

This restaurant was an absolutely amazing experience, very good selection of appetizers and pizza pies. IPA's as well. We started with the Chicken fingers and a delicious honey mustard dip. Followed by the The Pellettieri Ave Pie, which had the right fusion of rich flavors. The cheese, marinara and crust was on point. Went there last night not knowing it was their grand opening. Ordered a large pie which took awhile but well worth the wait. Crust was great and sauce had nice flavor. Let me add my voice to the chorus. The Albany St. pizza is one of the best available in Westchester. Ricotta, sausage, broccoli rabe, mozzarella, with just a tiny bit of sauce keeping it honest. It's a flavor bomb. Just add some crushed red hot pepper. The Utica Pie is best described as a round Detroit style, with a thick crust. I think one pie will feed 4 hungry eaters - it's cut in a sort of grid style so you get a lot of variation in size slice and edge/crust. If you are having people over for a game I can't think of anything better than a stack of these pies to feed the masses. They have Utica Club in cans, a bit pricey at $3.99 each, but de rigeur. Also Saranac. Have to give them chutzpah points for opening up two doors down from Francesco's, which may well have the best pizza in White Plains. Reheats well in a pre-heated oven at 450 degrees. I would call this pan pizza. It's OK. Not great, not bad. Out of the pies we tired, the white pie was very tasty. Unfortunately, the signature tomato pie was not for us. The cheese they used was very funky. It's possible that's the natural taste of the cheese or it was spoiled, hard to tell. I live upstate and venture to Utica quite often...so this isn't foreign territory for pizza. The Sicilians ran Utica for years...so for the so-called worldly downstaters who don't know anything north of Poughkeepsie...this town (Utica..) has quite a good culinary history. The pizza here reminds of Rosarios in East Utica...round pie. The crust would be something in Southern New England more akin to a Greek pizza... I got a very simple tomato and grated parm...in Utica "tomato pie" is a room temperature concept and a different dough, this one is the pizza. Crisp crust and not heavy on the cheese (too much cheese goo is a turnoff..). I make riggies and Utica greens myself..so next time I'm in White Plains I'll try them... I'm originally from Connecticut, so naturally I think New Haven is the best pizza on the planet...but I'm not a willfully blind Brooklyn gold chained gorilla that couldn't imagine there are other good pizzas out there (Brooklyn Utica and Detroit are all good in my book...). Had to update to reiterate my rating. These guys have really, truly excellent customer service. We recently had an "issue" with an order (which, in a way was not really a problem... sort version is an topping was out of stock due to supply issues outside of their control and they substituted with an amazing, more costly, very high-quality item that was great, but also... just wasn't what we wanted in that moment). When I called to ask what was up with the switch, they explained the situation and really bent over backwards to make sure we were happy with the outcome. Was looking to try this place for a while. The eve of the quarantine probably wasn't the best time, but beggars can't be choosers. The place looked closed, not much out in terms of slices, the case in front was empty. I get it, not stocking much with all that was going on. Hey I'm here for a pizza, that's all I need. I ordered a Bleeker Street which is sausage, pepperoni and meatball on an upside down pie. The best way I can describe the pizza itself is that Utica style seems to be a hybrid version on Chicago and NY. While it isn't as pillowy and cake like as Chicago, it is much thicker and more of a pie consistency than a NY. Either way it's damn good. It was very tasty, from the robust sauce, the meats were abundant, the sausage was a tad hot, nothing for me, but could ward off others. The crust was a stand out. This is a place I could absolutely visit again and again. I've heard of NY, Chicago, Detroit and even Wisconsin styles before, Utica was new to me. Give it a try. read more

I went to the Utica Pie Co. today and I had a slice of sausage pizza. It was amazing! I consider myself a pizza snob and this was a fantastic slice. Keep in mind this is not your standard NYC metro pizza, the pizza or pie (as they call is) is made in the Utica/upstate NY style. Freshly prepared d dough, slightly thicker crust, cheese and the sauce (and or toppings if you get them). The crust was fantastic, the cheese was excellent , and the sausage was fresh and tasty and it had just a tiny bit of bite to it! Went today to get a pie being that this is in my neighborhood. They are opening in January sometime, this is their soft opening with a limited menu. The pies are round and cut square and are different in the best way possible. Not quite a Sicilian or a regular pie. I loved it! Tasted fresh homemade and delicious! Reading the previous reviews, I was actually quite excited that White Plains finally seemed to have gotten an interesting pie place to stop by - alas, I was thoroughly disappointed to realize that's not the case when coming here... Granted, they only recently opened and it seems they really try hard - so I give them two stars for friendliness. But on a Sunday at lunch time, they only had tomato&cheese and pepperoni pies available for individual slices. There was a small selection of pasta dishes, salads and desserts available as well, but everything was prepackaged and hence hard to tell how fresh it was. To me it's not clear whether they aim to be an Italian deli or a pie place, right now it's a confusing mix of both. I opened for a pepperoni slice in the end, which could have been quite nice - the pie is a cross between deep dish and NYC style with a slightly thicker but airy base and a good crunch in the crust. But my slice was barely lukewarm when they served it despite being put back in the oven. All in all, they seemed very overwhelmed and not at all ready for real business yet. For example, they also had no cash for change in the register and scrambled to collect some from their wallets and pockets - before asking us to pay with card in the end. Hopefully they will pick up their game, because the pies could really be great - if more of a selection is available, slices are heated up properly and the overall service runs smoothly & professionally. read more

The toppings were very tasty, but the crust was like Pizza Hut (or how I remember it before I stopped eating it). We live in the NY metro area. This pizza doesn't measure up. My wife and I were looking for a deep dish pizza place that we could sit and enjoy an easy dinner. This place was perfect. The interior is done nicely with a semi rustic feel with a few tables. Everything was made fresh to order. The wings were a nice size and could tell they were cooked at the time of ordering and were NOT precooked then refried. Juicy and not dry at all. The Upside Down was exactly what we were looking for. Fresh with a crisp crust and soft inside. The sauce was fresh and not acidic or sweet. The staff and owner could not have been nicer. This is where it gets good...the owner came out to speak to us bc they were running behind and gave us a snack...Very pleasant and lovely personality. Born and raised in Utica I was excited to see this place pop up. I went in skeptical as I haven't had a pizza the way I like it outside of Utica in 20 years. Ordered a half sausage and mushroom and some wings. The pizza brought me right back home and I haven't stopped smiling since. Do yourself a favor and order from here. It's not your typical NYC pie and is not Sicilian like some would say. Wings were large and has the perfect crisp to them. Can't wait to try a different pie next time.
