What can I say more about this pizzeria institution in these parts of Yonkers that hasn't been said before..... good classic freshly prepared deliciously scrumptious Italian pizzeria and everything is simply unabashedly GOOD! Large Plan pie 18$ for 8 slices! I forgot the prices of the veal and peppers, meatball and ricotta calzones because I was trapped in the heavenly glow of their baked goodness! This was my first time trying Catania's- my aunt suggested it and it did not disappoint! We ordered a pizza that was half meat lovers/half eggplant and it was so good! I also ordered a full Sicilian Marinara pizza but only received a single slice- we ordered through Uber Eats and they made it right with zero issue! The calzones are unique and so good! The dough was almost flaky like a pastry and the fillings were excellent! I also would have ordered more of them if I had realized how good and how small they were! read more

A very good pizza joint in yonkers on central Ave that serves plentyl types of pizza toppings and more ..I was looking at the menu which is long ,but wings , salads , calzones , rolls , pasta dishes and entrees all look good and I bet taste good but before I grab a seat in the corner I will go old school and order 2 cheese slices and a bottle of diet Coke as I always do or mostly what I always do .Good tasty pizza and my boys want a large pie and wings which they have to wait for cause I want to enjoy my pizza at a snails pace . 4.5 stars on my yelp meter. read more

Catania's pizza has been around for a very long time. It's a classic spot in Yonkers and it's a great NY joint! By far one of the best spots when it comes to parking...they've got plenty available. As far as the food's concerned...they make a great pie! Like I've said in other reviews...every pizza joint has their own specialty, and Catania's is no different. Generally I like to go for their Sicilian Marinara Pie that is loaded with fresh garlic! If you love garlic and you love pizza...then you'll LOVE this! They also offer another signature piece...their meatball calzone. They are awesome! Every time I order from here...those are the 2 choices I get. You really can't go wrong. Now...there's a couple of things that I think are worth mentioning. Their pizza and food in general is definitely on the oily/greasy side. They're definitely heavy handed with the oil. They need to ease up. The other thing is the delivery service. The service at the counter is always friendly...but the delivery drivers I noticed are definitely on the impatient side. I don't like that. And...I gotta tip them on top of it?! The hell with that. So I usually just order for pick up. read more

I was looking for a snack and was close to this place; I looked up Catania's on Yelp. It looked like they had good pizza and reviews, so I stopped by. There was a short line. People were ordering to go and a few people were sitting in the booths there. It seemed like a busy place. There were 3 people behind the counter who were cooking and running around the shop. I ordered a Sicilian and a vegetable slice. The slices were pretty large; these will last me the next few days. Each slice was two portions and bigger than the average slice. I grabbed two slices to go and tried them. They were fresh and hot. Their slices and pies go quickly. I'd recommend ordering ahead. There were also an array of calzones and other options available at the counter. I'm in the area frequently, and I'd definitely stop back again to try more of their options. read more

So good. Not a place you would necessarily notice driving up Central Avenue, but this pizzeria is a gem. The mini-calzones are amazing. The place does offer a small number of seats for in-house dining, but the majority of the business is take-out. On a Friday night at 6pm this joint is hopping, people are flying in and out picking up their orders. Some like it so much they just sit and eat a slice in their cars. They have a garden salad slice that is enormous. The slice has garlic, mushrooms, spinach and sliced tomatoes. Almost an inch thick this slice will guarantee that you have gotten a full serving of veggies in your diet. I really enjoyed the crust. They prefer cash, but will take credit cards. I have Catania's on my top ten list of places to eat whenever in the Yonkers/Westchester area. Plenty of parking, it is located next to the Auto Zone. Buon appetito! read more

In this world how often do you find someone who will go that extra mile for another person. Haven't been to Catania's in a while and yet I was greeted with a handsome smile and when I explained what kind of Sicilian pizza I needed not only was it made but it was delicious. Garbage pizza. First of all, $7.00 for two plain slices????? Are you kidding me??? That's $3.50 a slice for PLAIN pizza no toppings. I could almost forgive that if the pizza was any good. But it was oily, soggy, floppy, and borderline undercooked. I will never be returning to this spot ever again. And the to go box the pizza comes in. Catania's has the best little calzones stuffed with fresh, delicious ingredients. Been going there for probably 40 years! My favorite calzone is the pork and peppers while my kids love the meatball and cheese calzones. The pizza is delicious, as are their rolls which are stuffed with things such as broccoli rabe and sausage, eggplant, chicken etc. My all time favorite item on their menu is the "Marinara slice". If you love fresh grated cheese and garlic and sauce, you MUST have this pizza! Any time I am in the area and my husband knows, he always asks me stop at Catania's to get him a few slices and a few calzones. The staff is always friendly and willing to describe all the items they have for the day. read more

I lived nearby in Westchester for 30+ years and had another pizza spot that I love for slices, but as far as calzones go? Catania's is unique in their little calzone squares in 3 types, cheese, veal & peppers and meatball. They are pricey, each one sets you back about $3.50 and I can eat 4-5 for a meal but they are so worth it. I can only tell you they are like nothing you've tried before and would highly suggest getting them. Any time I'm in the area to visit I stop by and order 15 to take home with me. Tip: Pay with cash. read more

I have been a customer for many years and highly recommend Catania's ! Their staff is attentive and they keep the place clean. Their food is delicious! The best calzones, pizza and chicken Marsala rolls and eggplant rolls to name a few. They did change ownership but within the family. Try it for yourself before you take anyone's opinion! read more

Grew up in Yonkers but haven't been down in a while. Catania's has the best pizza hands down. The owner runs the place like a champ. Veal & Pepper roll is lip smacking. Slices were cheesy and the sauce has perfect amount of spice. I would give it ten stars if I could. read more

Nothing but love for this place. It might be because of their delicious mini calzones. Or their meat slice. Or their fruit punch. Or the fact that I grew up going here and they were the sponsors of my 1989 girl's softball team. (What a great season that was - celebrating our wins with pizza!! Dang, I miss being eleven years-old!) Tip: If you order a whole pie, you can ask them to make it with sesame seeds on the bottom of the crust. If you're in Yonkers and you're thinking there's not good NY Pizza in the area, let this place change your mind! The pizza here is actually really good, and pricing isn't too bad. This is in a small shopping complex but worth it! I got a pepperoni slice which is always solid and a bacon chicken and ranch pizza that was phenomenal. A supermarket that doesn't carry plastic water bottles and proudly has a sign that they haven't been selling plastic still bottle since 2011 in efforts to be able to reduce plastic, is just something we need to see more of. Plus, everything's organic! The cool part is you can bring your huge jugs of water and refill them in the entrance with alkaline water. There were also a ton of produce boxes available for you to shop in and save bags. I totally missed this and came super unprepared without even my own bags. Loved the weighed grain section where you can pay less for certain ones by buying them in bulk. You can even bring your own refillable containers for dish soap, body soap, dishwasher soap, Castile soap, laundry detergent, face wash, body lotion and more. If you don't have your own containers you can buy their glass ones and refill those. They even have a recycle center as soon as you walk in. You can donate eye glasses, batteries, shoes, natural cork and even compost! Their purpose is simple: to protect and restore the environment. This is my language. I LOVE this supermarket, only thing I wish it wasn't 1 hour away.

I had one of the meals that my client didn't want - pork tenderloin, carrots, and string beans. I heated it in the oven as recommended and the pork was not bad, nor were the beans. They went a bit heavy on the carrots though. This is only one meal of many however and my client overall has a favorable opinion of them, his favorite being the "American glazed meatloaf" Top Chef has come through in a big way for me with delivering about 2 weeks worth of meals for my client that come about three days after ordering it (If it isn't before the weekend). With the rising popularity of heat and eat and fast prep meal kits, like Hello Fresh, Blue Apron and more this is great for elderly, disabled or otherwise, perhaps people who have next to no time to cook. with a nice selection, good packaging, quick delivery and even a senior discount I'm very satisfied with Top Chef Meals.

CATANIA'S JUST CAN'T SEEM TO CAPTURE THAT OLD SPARK! Welcome to the Tanglewood Shopping Center in North East Yonkers. Former home of the Tanglewood Boys, present home of wannabe gangsters who have watched Goodfellas one too many times. The scene is your typical Italian pizzeria in another Westchester County strip mall on Central [Park] Avenue. Depending on the day, you're likely to see a different member of the crew posing as the front thug for this suburban outpost. Over the past 35 years the neighborhood has changed, and unfortunately so has this pizzeria. From the earliest days of my childhood, this was always my neighborhood pizzeria. How much of a better location could this place be? Across Crisfield Street, Nathan's Hot Dogs and it's arcade sit in the next lot. This was where it was at when you just wanted to grab a slice and hang out. Whether just for a family of four or for your entire kindergarten class, this was the place where you got your pizza. I would brag to my friends and family that bar none this was where you'd find old style New York City pizza. That was until my cousin, Derek M. (Midlothian, VA), opened my eyes and told me that he wasn't really all that impressed. I took a hard look at my slice and realized that indeed it did lack that flavor which I had always known and loved. When ordering my pizza and getting an extra dose of attitude, you better be on top of your game. But lately it seems like their pizza has gotten too greasy while their dough has gotten too gummy. Anyone who has something good to say about this place brags about the calzones, but I'll always think of pizza as the heart and soul of this place. I think Pete (the owner) has to get back in there more often and let the crew know who is boss because they've long since forgotten who they are cooking for. This goes out to every kid who has peddled their bike around Beaumont Circle. Or anyone who has raced their car on Central [Park] Avenue on a Thursday night or maybe just parked their car at Nathan's and came to watch the show. Maybe you used to hang out on Bradlees before the cops closed it all down. If any of this sounds familiar or takes you back 15-20 years ore more, then you remember the days when Catania's was at its best. I went to Catania's for lunch. It's a small "lunchy" type of pizzeria, not a place you would bring the family to for a sit down dinner. This is why I kind of hoped that the pizza would be amazing. Maybe if my hopes weren't so high and if I wasn't so hungry I wouldn't have been as disappointed. The man there was nice and the prices seemed average. I went there in search of the perfect New York pizza. Well it's not here. It wasn't too too bad but far from perfect. The calzones did look good but I was only there for the pizza. I would go back for lunch I suppose but would probably give that calzone a try or maybe even the Stromboli, that looked pretty good as well. read more
