There are several reasons that we hired Riggins Construction LLC. First, he cares about his reputation. Hardly any company owner would give feedback on the online reviews of their businesses, but Ryan does. I believe if anyone cares his reputation so much, he is both confident and competent. Second, he answered phone calls and replied every email. We are in the age of technology, but not every contractor cares about returning voicemail messages or replying an email regarding free estimate. Third, he works very hard. He actually came to check our old fence at 8:30 pm and spent long time discussing the details with us, even though we had not decided to hire him. Of course, everyone worries about cost, unless you are the richest in the town. Ryan could not offer us the lowest price for the very traditional style, which we wanted to install at first just because it's much cheaper according to another bid. But he gave us a very good price for the horizontal style, within our budget! He even offered to add an arbor above the gate for free, after we hired him. Yes, he mentioned the extra cost of soil dump runs when we signed the contract, but he did not charge it when the work was done. We would highly recommend Riggins Construction. We were looking to have a small ground-level deck built on top of a concrete slab porch. We initially planned on composite, but after seeing how beautiful Ryan's prior work with ipe hardwood was, we knew it would be a mistake to go with anything else. We are extremely happy with the result. Ryan was friendly and responsive and easy to communicate with. After finishing another job ahead of schedule, he offered to come out early and build the deck well before the contract required. Despite not having his full crew, the entire project was completed in two days. He texted to notify me whenever they entered or left the site. Ryan was careful to understand our goals and was able to adapt the design to accommodate them (for example, lowering the height to avoid the need for a railing, extending the deck around the existing columns, and building over a raised concrete step with clever framing to avoid the need to demo it). As I observed the work in progress and he explained what he was doing, it was clear that he has very high standards of quality and craftsmanship. And the result is just beautiful. He mentioned that he does all sorts of general contracting work in addition to decks and fences, so I expect we will be repeat customers if we have any further work to be done in the future. read more

I was having a hard time finding a company to add additional screening to my fence. Ryan jumped in there with ideas ranging from a fix to starting over with upgraded wood and a more modern look. He is willing to do what the customer asks or suggests without having his own agenda. He is fair with his material and labor costs and can have a conversation about saving costs, In the end, we went with a fix that served our needs and we are very satisfied with the final product. He receives many YELP requests daily and responds via text. Often he will then travel up to 45 minutes (each way) to look around, write-up, and then offer a bid. There is no guarantee that his bid will get accepted, if he does that 3-4 times in a day it quickly adds up for "non-revenue" for his bottom line. A bit tough for a one man business, so I am offering up a little patience and understanding for folks in the trade, like Ryan, they are trying to make a living doing what they enjoy. read more

Well, it seems I am not the only one who had a "no show". After two short notice cancellations I decided to call Ryan and tell him not to bother, he followed up with a nasty text message two days later. And after reading other negative reviews on here I thought I would do a bit of research on Riggin's Construction and I am thankful he didn't show up. I will always do a simple state license search and research any contractor before hand from now on before I even consider calling for an estimate! My time is just as important as anyones. I am in law school and time is very limited for me right now. I suggest anyone considering Riggins Construction or any contractor to do your own research on the state website checking license, bond and insurance. I also checked to see if I could find his office or address, and I could not. Only a P.O. box. and no office phone number or land line. Only a cell phone. Something just seems off with this company is what I ended up deciding especially after reading other negative reviews. Good luck! Not only an honest, hard working contractor, but a craftsman and perfectionist to boot. Ryan and his crew installed over 150 lf of noise abatement fencing along the roadside of our house. This was a double-sided "septum fence" that sandwiches mass-loaded-vinyl sound absorption material in the panels. We contacted several contractors but they either declined to bid the job, citing unfamiliarity with the proposed design/materials, or bid the job extremely high. Ryan designed the posts/panels around the added weight of the sound-proofing, suggested a board and batten design that would meet the design suggestions of the sound-proofing manufacturer and worked tirelessly through some of the worst February weather we've seen. When the wood had dried out over the summer and a couple of the battens had shrunk/cracked, Ryan came out for a tune-up visit and fixed any issues. We're not done with projects on the house and will definitely being hiring Ryan again for decking/porch and further fencing. read more

We absolutely love our fence, Ryan and his crew did a great job! My wife designed a custom horizontal board fence and matching mailbox and Ryan delivered beautifully. He always went the extra mile for the details and was extremely friendly and reliable throughout. Riggins construction went above and beyond our expectations. We hired them to build a fence for our expansive yard, they not only built us the most cost effective fence for our area but also what would look good in the environment while meeting our needs. We have extra respect for this company while still in the process of building our fence sections were destroyed by wind damage two days in a row, they fixed the sections the second time at no additional cost to us. We feel that we got the best man for the job, he is hardworking, dependable and has the best attitude. When we had to deal with pesky and distracting neighbors to the wind storm damage, he took it all in a positive stride and got the job done right. Ryan is awesome!!! We have used him to build our fence a year or 2 back and recently again to build a 25' bamboo planter that ties into the fence. He is as good as they come. I have worked with more than my fair share of contractors over the years and Ryan is hands down the best I have come across. He is fair. I had a great experience with Riggins Construction LLC for building a wood fence with stain at my rental property. I wanted to partially remove and build new wood fence along the house. Everything was so quick from getting a bit to finishing up, but he is also clear about scope of the work, so that you don't have any issue at the end of the project. he constantly gave me the status via text message, and call if urgent. Also he was willing to answer questions from my tenants directly so that we didn't waste time. I am quite happy with the quality and the details that I would highly recommend him and his crew if you want to build a fence. Ryan and crew did a great job on a railing for our steep driveway. Very prompt and even worked on a National holiday without additional charges to complete the job in a timely manner. We had Ryan come in and build us a fence in April this year, and Ryan and his guys did an awesome job. We had about 160 ft worth of an old fence we needed to have replaced, and an additional 20 feet or so (plus 3 gates) to add so that our backyard was completely fenced in for our dog. We also had a few weird angles and some stubborn old posts from the previous fence that they had deal with, but everything turned out great and looks really good. They even stuck around till dark the last night they were here so that they could finish up because Ryan knew we were so excited about being able to let our dog out to enjoy the yard. I am happy with the quality of workmanship Riggins provided. We had a small project (2 gates for a townhouse complex). Some larger companies were too busy for such a small project. Riggins provided the lowest bid and was available to complete the work the soonest. He takes pride in the quality of his work. After realizing that the soil does not provide the best grip, he constructed arbors for the gates at no extra cost. I was impressed with how quickly he finished the gates, especially since one of his crew members had to take leave for a family emergency. Riggins Construction did an excellent job of replacing the deck for our home. I was very pleased with the detail carpentry as well as the construction time/schedule. Ryan has done two separate jobs for us and never exceeded his budget.
