We had our garden fence rebuilt by Sky Fence, owned by Jacob Walsh. We had some custom design ideas we wanted to incorporate: for the main section, we wanted a paneled lattice with a trellis on top, and for the lower section, a 2x2 galvanized wire panel to let light through while keeping rabbits out. We also had specific quality requirements, such as using a post-on-pipe installation to avoid wood rot. After reaching out to Sky Fence and 5 other well-known Seattle companies, only Sky Fence said they could meet our custom design and quality needs. The other companies offered a range of prices for lower-quality fences, while Sky Fence provided a single quote with the highest standards at a competitive price. Using a few sketches we provided, Sky Fence built a beautiful fence that matched our requirements perfectly. Jacob and his team did an amazing job, even installing the fence on top of a concrete wall. Communication throughout the process was smooth, and I couldn't be happier with the work they delivered. Finding skilled people in Seattle is hard, but occasionally you find some amazing people. My only complaint is about the contract. It was hard to read, lacked detail, included stock photos that didn't match our design, and had no itemization--just a final price. It felt like signing a promise to build what we asked for, thereby taking a leap of faith, which made me a bit uneasy. Still, Sky Fence absolutely delivered, and I would hire them again without hesitation. A few before and after photos attached. The reddish stain (Ready seal mahogany) in the photos we applied ourselves. The stain and wood will darken over time. read more

Jacob impressed me from the beginning with his expertise and communication. I noticed when speaking with other, sometimes bigger companies, gaps in knowledge and communication that did not instill confidence. Jacob, himself the owner, handled everything from beginning to end, ensuring the job was completed as promised. He built us a great fence, at a reasonable price. read more

Prompt quote but expensive relative to others. Unable to build the type of fence we wanted. Didn't residential when asked. Not their fault really but woukd have been good to just tell me they could not do the job as requested. Our requirements were very specific so we ended up building it ourselves for far less and we got exactly what we wanted. It was their way or no way. Fine read more

One of the very best contractors I've ever worked with. Jacob and his team were fantastic partners in building a complex fence along a busy road in Seattle. It's given my young child more space to play, along with privacy and sound benefits. I approached multiple companies about building a fence, with primary goals of more and safer space for my kid to play, but with additional hopes to mitigate some sound from the road. Jacob was the only one that listened to my goals and worked with me to create a plan on how to create a fence that had some sound-deadening properties to it. He just completed the job and it's the best-looking fence I've seen. It's structurally very sound, and the workmanship is second-to-none. He takes pride in his work and it comes through. He was very communicative throughout, and even went above and beyond by fixing a small existing leak in my sprinkler system nearby one of the posts he was putting in. read more

Incredible experience with Sky Fence. The artistry and craftsmanship of our new fence, gate, and trellis is amazing. Jacob was communicative, friendly, responsive, easy to work with, and the work speaks for itself. We couldn't be happier. read more

Absolutely amazing! Speedy and under budget. Jacob went above and beyond to replace my broken down rustic fence that I have been propping up for years with a brand new STILL rustic fence that looks beautiful. read more

Jacob from sky fence helped replace the fence on my property after an auto accident wrecked about 80 ft of fencing. He asked plenty of questions on how I wanted certain things installed, worked with me to move the fence line in a bit, and the materials and craftsmanship were terrific. We will definitely use them again to replace the rest of our fence once we save up the $. read more

Jacob and his crew were great and we absolutely love how our fence turned out. He was great to work with, responsive, and obviously good at building fences. The turnaround time between asking for a bid and him building it was super fast too. As a fun anecdote, while we were calling around to get bids, we spoke with one fencing company who didn't work in our area, but they recommended we call Sky Fence after we had already spoken to Jacob - nothing better than a referral from a competitor. read more

Jacob is amazing and his work is even better. He and his team are experts; they consulted with me multiple times, measured and designed and provided options before building our custom fence exactly how we imagined it. read more

I didn't end up using them but would consider in future. Yelp kinda forced me into reviewing.. I would delete this entirely if I could . Hard to rate when they weren't hired! read more

Sky Fence/Jacob were awesome to work with. Jacob was competitively priced and delivered a high-quality end product. What particularly stood out with Jacob was his willingness to listen to our goals as well as work through some unique situations in the project that other contractors either wouldn't handle or offered costly solutions for. read more

Sky Fence did an awesome job on our project. We bought our house about 6 months ago. The back section of our fence was old and had rotting posts and finally blew over in a recent wind storm. We had Jacob come out and provide us with options and an estimate and are glad we did. We had multiple companies provide estimates and his prices were very competitive. He instilled a lot of confidence on his initial visit out here and even talked to us about what we should be looking for in fence companies even if we decided to go with someone else. Jacob and his crew made a beautiful section of fence for us and were wonderful to work with. We ended up doing a paneled in style w/ clear cedar and post on pipe. Jacob was always patient with our questions and explained everything clearly. He kept us in the loop with decisions and scheduling. Communication was excellent. On the day of the project the crew showed up on time and were very friendly. We are extremely happy with the end product and there is no doubt we will be using Jacob and his team in the future when we're ready to replace the remainder of our fence. It's always hard to tell if a company is going to be good when they don't have a lot of yelp reviews yet, but I can tell you for sure Sky Fence is the real deal and you should have them come out and quote your project. read more

Jacob at Sky Fence was wonderful to work with. He had competitive pricing, showed up when he said he would, and completely the project on-time. Not to mention the best part...the high-quality craftsmanship! Sky Fence far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them for your fencing project. read more

Jacob and his assistant, Isaac were AMAZING! We were in desperate need of a new fence and now we have a beauty of a fence. They took out the old fence and replaced it in three days! This included 160 feet of fence, a new gate, and three trellises. Jacob even saved my honeysuckle and tied it back onto the new trellis. The price was competitive and the lumber he used was top notch. Could not be happier! Definitely recommend Sky Fence! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company. The professionalism was over the top. The owner and team were on time for every appointment and the communication was incredible. We first met up to discuss our design ideas and what we were wanting to do. I had some concerns about where they could put posts because they were working in very confined spaces in our garden. We had a vision of what we wanted and the owner made sure to communicate everytime we reached a new design phase or challenge. We were absolutely blown away by the build quality, communication, custom gates and panels and the value. This company was very reasonably priced in our opinion. I can't reccomend them enough and hope to work with them again in the future. read more

Can't say enough good things about Jacob and Sky Fence. The work this team did for me was incredibly meticulous and I'm very happy I chose this company. I got the lowest quote from Jacob, but even if it wasn't the lowest, I probably would have gone with Sky anyway. Jacob is extremely professional and pleasant to work with - communicates really well, both online and in person. He is also willing to go above and beyond to get the job done - for example, his team cleared out some of our overgrown plants and weeds in order to start the job on the fence. He also offered very good suggestions to improve the aesthetics as well as durability of the new fences. read more

Jacob and his team built a fence for our front yard recently, and I just wanted to share the positive experience I had. On top of the great communication and professionalism along the way, the quality of the fence is great and I was overall incredibly happy with the end result. I'd be glad to recommend Sky Fence to friends and will be reaching out to them in the future when our back yard needs to be done. read more

I had a bad experience with a start on a fence from a local company and was really anxious as I have an odd situation and wanted a sturdy, attractive fence that will last. I put a lot of money and time into special lumber and painting applying special stain to every piece. They walked off the job, leaving a mess behind, but it was the best thing that could have happened to me. Then a neighbor recommended Jacob. Jacob is an experienced fence contractor who went out on his own and is building fences as well as custom work. He is reasonably priced, intelligent and reliable. He is very willing to work with me on the special needs and difficulties of the situation. The fence is almost finished and looks so good, in spite of some of the mistakes the previous contractor made. If you don't have need for excellent appearance and function then many contractors will do. If you want something special, call Jacob. read more

Jacob was great to work with. Clear communication, competitive pricing, efficient work. And we love our new fence!

Jacob is fantastic, I interviewed a number of fence companies, he stood out for his thoughtful and detailed responses. He has over 20 years of experience with two very reputable companies, Citywide and West Seattle Fence. The work was excellent, he consulted regularly on key decisions, offering advice and suggestions. The wood and workmanship was of high quality, Jacob has a strong attention to detail. We have only completed the first phase of fencing needed, but look forward to having Jacob back again shortly to finish the remaining fencing. It is only a matter of time before enough people recognize how good Jacob is and book him long in advance, but I am hoping he will still be able to come back. read more
