I started to give 4 stars ONLY because I didn't try the food (which has a solid reputation) but the heck with it. I haven't enjoyed a first visit this much in a very long time. My companion and I ended a late afternoon Williamsport visit/pub crawl at Riepstine's on a recent Friday. Fortunately for the other pubs, it was our last stop. Had it been our first stop I'm nearly certain we wouldn't have bothered going anywhere else. The pub was surprisingly quiet when we arrived at around 6 PM on a Friday but we instantly felt right at home. The bartender, Jessica, was super cool and friendly as well as being very beer knowledgeable. Knowledgeable, but not snooty or pretentious about. It was fantastic to have a beee conversation without feeling talked down to. I really don't like beer snobs and they seem to have multiplied like rabbits I enjoyed a flight of five selections and all were excellent. I'd had Riepstine's beers at local beer bars and enjoyed the opportunity to sample at the source. They brew a variety of styles to suit everyone from a middle-of-the-roader (me) to more sophisticated tastes. These folks clearly know what they're doing. Riepstine's is a bit outside "downtown" Williamsport and the exterior is unremarkable EXCEPT they have a nice outdoor area. The interior is simple, leaning toward a modern style, and really charming . My companion's first reaction was "Whoa! This is NICE" (and she has high standards). We didn't try the food but most definitely will be back to try what looked a tasty and accessible menu. Nice local bar. Beer we ordered was very good. Ordered fish and chips. Two nice pieces of haddock-but served on a whole lot of fries... No sides or other option in place of fries ( of course it was fish and chips) so we did order a side salad. Ordered the cheesecake to take home. It was very good but a little pricey. read more

Wait staff inattentive, like high school student with no experience. Both burgers were undercooked (asked medium well, were medium rare). Tacos were bland and dry, hardly any extras. Had to ask for silverware twice. Two burgers and two taco orders (with one beer) was over $80! Way too expensive for the quality and poor service. Won't be back. read more

I'm not sure how to rate. I had their Doesn't f**king matter beer at Broken Axe over the weekend. I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband had a flight and this is definitely a beer I could drink. Now I just need to find it in Mifflin, Juniata or Centre counties. read more

12 beers on tap as I sit. All brewed here. Owner's are husband and wife. Passion included. Had the pork BBQ on a pretzel roll. Delicious. Did I mention the beer. Just knocked down a Jaysburg porter. Took about 3 minutes. Now an alpha deuce ipa. Wow. This place is great. Wish it was closer. Clean. Smoke free. Doesn't get much better. Will come out of my way to return. read more

Awesome secret pub find! They have a beautiful place with the nicest staff and happily, no smoking or vaping on the property. It also doesn't hurt that they have excellent beers, a dog and family friendly outdoor area in a well maintained setting. We can't wait to go back! read more

My wife is writing an article about local craft beers, so we're making our rounds. Riepstine's selection is really interesting and from what I tried also very tasty. They have some basic IPAs, darker beers and ciders, as well as off the wall stuff like a banana/bubblegum wheat beer and a golden ale steeped in cucumbers (both of which are fantastic). My Dad is a regular here, he even has his own ceramic stine, which comes with a membership. The closet-knit membership atmosphere is part of the experience, at least for me because I always go with my Dad who knows the owner and servers. But, I think I would have eventually tried out Riepstine's based on the beer selection alone as my husband and I always like to try/support independent brewers. And this isn't a members only type place, it's open for everyone, but for locals who like the beer I'd suggest a membership, it comes with said stine, discounts, (I think) and invitation to private events like NYE parties and pig roasts. The decor is ho hum/bland, it doesn't have the look a the neighborhood place it's attitude suggests. Also the menu is limited, which is fine, they are a brew pub not a restaurant and the meatball sandwich I shared with my Dad was hearty, warm, and satisfying. Staff was very friendly. Beer was very good....I especially liked the vanilla latte stout recommended by our server. She also recommended the bacon wrapped sausage stuffed jalapeños which were fantastic! The beer selection was made up of 8 to 10 drafts made in house. Good example of the two styles I drank which were the stout and the IPA. Was the IPA hoppy? Sure....but isn't it supposed to be? ( Hell yes!) Definitely was not "too" hoppy....just plain good. read more

If you are in the area and it's before 8:00 not a bad choice, nothing exceptional about the place but nothing terrible either. Small menu, sandwiches and what not; several beers on tap all made on premises but all "meh". IPA's way out of balance to the hoppy bitter side, rest of line up just lifeless, try a sampler instead of a pint (thank me later). Service ok but in that strange country small town way... Heading to bullfrog next with higher expectations. read more

Yea, this is one of those places that are So Freaking Good, a part of you doesn't want to post a review, because selfishly you don't want to see your new Favorite place blow up. Yea that good, They are Awsome, Can't say enough, Really if you like Good Beer, you're going to love it here. Where to start .... Well there food is Great, the Pretzel Bites are my favorite app, but Everything there I've had is Banging. Especially the Wings, if you're there on Wing night, Get the Wings! They smoke them before they sauce or rub them they have many different flavors, all Very tasty. OmG, no the Sour Kraut Balls! I can't forget them, once again Banging! They take house cooked ham, and sour kraut and kinda turn them into Hush puppies... oh my science they're amazing too, I don't even like sour kraut.... But no 4 Real I'm working my way threw the menus trying to find a dish I don't enjoy, haven't found one yet. And now the Beer... Well to start yes there all made in house, I'm very partial to Wheats, I love their Apricot Wheat, nice and traditional style Wheat with a hint of Apricot. Another person favorite is the Vanilla Latte Stout, I typically don't drink stouts, but this one isn't thick, & has great taste. For you IPA fans they have a double with some kick too. There's also another Wheat They call "Lunchbox ". That has notes of PB & Jelly, it's quite Interesting. Like no other Wheat beer I've ever had. Probably the worst service ever from this place. Very limited menu and stupid prices. Waited over 50 minutes for a Chicken Wrap that we ended up cancelling. Gave us the excuse that they were really busy in the other room. Watched as those orders were walked by us. If that is what they call busy, you better get someone to show you what busy is. Asked our server what happened to our order. Said she was going to check on it and never returned to our table. We will never return. read more

I haven't had any food here, but I've tried several of the beers. I first tried out the beer here after hearing they had a "Vanilla Latte Stout" brewed with Alabaster (a local coffee roaster) coffee. I've filled my growler up several times with this particular stout, and enjoyed it each time. This particular stout hits you hard with the coffee flavors, and I really enjoyed it. I sampled several of the other beers and enjoyed them all. I plan on going back and I'll probably keep refilling my growler any time they have the vanilla latte stout on tap. read more

Best micro brew pub in Williamsport! Great selection of 15-20 beers. Season changes to some and a few regular year round staples. Small food menu, but some nice choices. Very quiet place. read more

New to yelp but I admit to using it in order to find honest opinions on local places. This is the first time I've felt the need to comment on the things I've read vs. what I've experienced. Visited Riepstine's with the thought that I might be disappointed and I couldn't have been more wrong. The burger topped with BBQ brisket was unbelievable and beyond worth the $14 I paid for it considering it came with a very large pile of fries. Now my purpose for this visit was the beer and with the slogan where it's all about the beer they are not lying! Not an exaggeration to say the best this area has ever seen. Not sure where some of these people were reviewing or maybe the rumor of this being used to talk poorly about a place as revenge but my group will definitely make this place a regular stop. And in the future I'll be less likely to judge a new place by what I've read. read more
