I took a coat there for alterations . When I dropped it off I was asked if I wanted it to be cleaned. I declined since the coat was almost brand new. When my husband picked the coat up , he was charged $30 for the cleaning I did not ask for. I will not go back there. Obviously this was their way of taking money from a customer for a service they did not ask for. They lost my business. read more

This place charged me double what was quoted to fix a zipper on snowmobile bibs I asked when dropping off what should I expect to pay they said max $15-$20 when I picked up the bibs they were $42.00 when I questioned them no explanation just that was the price I was stuck but I will never go back total ripoff it was not about the money but about what I was expecting !!! read more

Make sure you ask in advance the cost of the service. I dropped off my husband's coat to add a zipper and clean. The coat had an inner thin coat, and they charged me for two coats. Cleaning and a zipper just cost me $78!! Had I realized that, I would have went somewhere else. I could have bought another coat for that! read more

When trying on the altered dress it was a little too long, (but exactly as my daughter asked). She wanted a floating dress and after I showed her she would be walking on it, she agreed for another sew. They redid it with the smallest but perfect change. This review is for their tailoring department. They do a fine job when it comes to dry cleaning. I brought a few sport coats in for a simple alteration in the sleeve length. When I came to pick up the jackets I was horrified to learn that their tailors had closed up the functioning buttonholes. These jackets both had functioning sleeves and to take away a feature that defines the quality of the garment is beyond... When asked why they would do this their response was that this is how they've always done sleeves. I couldn't believe it. On the other jacket, the fabric in the sleeve got cut before the alterations could even be done- the tailor explained it was a mistake and felt awful about it but still... worst tailoring experience I've had. I've worked with many tailors in the past so this wasn't my first rodeo, but definitely my last with their tailoring department. read more

Web site and Google lists closing time at 4pm. I arrived for alterations and was told the tailor keeps different hours and she leaves at 12pm. This needs to be updated with your web and Google presence otherwise it has no value. read more

I go to the one in Avon Lake, so I can't vouch for the others but this place is godsent. Dry cleaning in one day, everything has come back in one piece (and clean!). Staff is helpful and if you're a regular you get the combination to the secret box that allows you to drop items off after hours. Staff is very helpful and they even have a drive through window. I can't really speak to prices. Coming from Chicago they seem very reasonable but I didn't really shop around after moving here. read more

I took a gown in to have the zipper replaced. the estimation the woman gave me was $25, $30 tops. I went back to pick up my gown today and I was really upset that I had to pay $55!!! The same woman was there when I went to pick it up, I knew because I recognized her and I've never been there before, and she denied ever having given me the previous estimate and said she wasn't even there when I had dropped it off so it couldn't have been her. I ended up spending more than twice as much on getting the zipper fixed as I did on the dress in the first place. I'm so disappointed. I won't be going back. read more

I dropped off white unlined linen curtains for 5 windows and white cotton unlined curtains for 3 windows. I picked them up today and was shocked at the bill. It was $394.60 for the curtains! I could have replaced them instead of having them washed and ironed! I made the mistake of not asking how much each panel would be or I would not have left them there. I expected it to be over $200 but not that much. I want to support a local business but not at this price. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would! Debra Hall is the seamstress there at Ridge cleaners and she is nothing short of a miracle worker! I took a formal length beaded gown in for a last-minute hem alteration. I needed it the same day for my niece's wedding. It was a very complicated undertaking due to the beading Alterations Express was going to charge over $500, which was almost twice what I paid for the dress! Debra hemmed the dress and it was perfect for about 20% of what the other place wanted to charge. I highly recommend Debra Hall Her work is outstanding and very reasonably priced read more

Really wanted to like this place, a lot of people recommended them to me. I dropped a chiffon bridesmaid dress off to them a few weeks ago to be hemmed. The lady who did my quote was super sweet. Quoted me at $50 but made it seem like that was on the high side. Asked me when I needed it by and made the due date a week prior (due date August 2nd) she said it would probably be done before the due date. And sometimes it needs more time. I called today and they said it was actually ready and done to be picked up which makes me wonder how long it sat there or how long it would have sat there without them calling me. Maybe I was supposed to just come on the due date but I was under the impression I was waiting for them to call, I believe the worker who I left the dress with told me that. Well I swing through the drive they and she gets my dress, then tells me the total is 72.59 which was kind of a shock to me considering I was quoted $50 and she really made me believe it would be way less than that. I've had many dresses altered either taken in and/or hemmed and its never been over 40. Actually one of the people who recommended ridge cleaners said they had a dress just hemmed like I needed and they put a "rush" charge on it because she needed it in 4 days. She was only charged $40 and that was with the rush fee. When I asked the lady charging my card why it cost so much she said they base it off my quote, well when she pulled my quote and saw $50 she kinda raised her eyebrows. Ridge Cleaners recently opened a location in Amherst and they do a fabulous job. The dry cleaning is excellent and the creases are always sharp and perfectly aligned. I've had seams mended and buttons sewed on...done perfectly. Ridge Cleaners also does shoes and I've had three pairs of dress shoes in the closet that needed new soles. I took them to Ridge Cleaners and they came back looking like brand new. The staff is always pleasant and makes me feel like the appreciate my business. read more

You might have to dip into your savings account if you get your dry cleaning done here. I have a couple of dress pants that they charged over $9 for. Nothing fancy about these pants. One pair was wool and the other was just a basic pair of dress pants from Nordstrom Rack. $12 for a suit coat (not including the suit pants). I recently move to Avon Lake from Chicago and what would cost me $35 - $40 for a load of dry cleaning in Chicago cost me $85 at Ridge Cleaners. I found the one place in Avon Lake where the cost of living is more expensive than Chicago. read more

Recently had 3 pairs of pants hemmed and taken in 1" at the waist. Cost me over $90! I asked about suits and shirts being dry cleaned, they charge $2.50 per shirt and $18 for suits. I just moved to AL from Westlake and it appears I will use my old cleaners (Pats) where they charged me $1.09 per shirt and 10.00 per suit. You are even offered coupons at least 1x per month!
