Pt.1 (google review)
called the store with a problem i needed answered and described as much as i could without getting cut off and ultimately being told by the owner herself that "We cant spend time talking about and helping you diagnose over the phone its not beneficial for us and a waste of time" so i said
'fine ill call a store that will help me"
Response from Owner
your description is close, but not accurate. You called and asked for our tech. Our technician is booked and busy with work orders. We also can't fix a bike over the phone. It's like calling a dealership and asking for a mechanic to fix your car over the phone, and expecting him to drop the job he's on to cater to you. You bought a used bike, you bought batteries at a depot and then expect Ride the Wind to accommodate you for for free. Book a service appointment, we can fix your bike no problem, but that would require an investment from you.
You installed your own batteries, walking through step by step on a phone won't get either of us anywhere. You are not our customer, and we can't facilitate you while putting one of our customers aside. And no, we are not a free 1 800 help line.
Pt.2 If anyone is looking at this reference my google review for Pt.1
Kinda funny How The owner is spinning the words around, All I called for was some basic information to clear up confusion I had but since then Super Ebikes on Essa Road has been an absolute blessing to work with I originally called ride the wind with information on if my controller was bad, attempted to describe the problem in hopes that the mechanic while I understood was busy and truly I don't expect instant service but could quickly pop onto the phone and simply give a brief explanation and say hey yes it's your controller or do you have enough batteries to supply it with power instead I was met with by the owner herself "where did you get the batteries and where did you get the bike" from in a rude tone cut off multiple times and as I previously mentioned in my Google review was told they can't help me over the over the phone and to to book an appointment but hey, they're not a free 1-800 helpline so that right there tells me they're not willing to help you over the phone with something simple.
Kind of funny how if you used bike and get your own parts an issue they won't help you unless you're actually at their shop kind of funny how the owner says that I ride the wind to accommodate I don't. I simply called and asked simple information. That's it. they say I'm not their customer. Yes I'm not their customer because I didn't buy from them. Thank God, but Customer Service is and should always be the top priority when someone calls even if they're not a customer at their shop so it seems like they only deal with their own base meaning people who bought from them directly also another funny note I should add the owner said expecting the technician to drop whatever he's doing and help I simply started the call with saying is your technician available? She responded with he is busy. I then replied with OK could you be able to possibly help shed some light on my problem didn't even ask what the problem was straight up asked in a rude tone like I previously mentioned where'd you get the batteries and where'd you get the bike? I replied with it's used and I bought my own batteries and then listed the shop that I bought the batteries from which was total battery in Barrie check them out they're awesome.
Yes, I installed my own batteries because I did a lot of research on how to do it properly and effectively without taking it to a shop the owner also states that walking me through it over the phone won't get either of us anywhere. How does that work? If a customer can't reach you and bring their bike in apparently walking a through the won't get either of them anywhere sounds like they're just money, hungry, and upset that I wasn't gonna bring my bike in for them to charge me whatever fee they have for a diagnosis.
I figured it out myself with the help of Super e-bikes on 200 Essa Rd in Barrie Ontario don't go to ride the wind unless you're willing to pay, God only knows how much for them to just look at the bike not even the time it takes to either transport it yourself if you're out of town and then parts and labour plus taxes on top of that I don't care what the owner has to say about this one. It doesn't bother me whatsoever go to Super Ebikes their friendly knowledgeable staff and quick turnaround times will have you in and out of the shop within a few days if not hours or best case under an hour.
I know this review is quite lengthy and detailed, but it has to be known that this shop will not help you unless you can bring your bike in and on top of that if you bought your bike from them because if you bought your bike from a private seller like I did or another shop they won't help you at all. Hope this helps read more
