While the office is a bit run down, with faded family photos, it does adds a bit of character and part of the charm. As promised, we were in and out in about 15 mins~ and if you pay cash, you can skip taxes too. I asked for a quote for oil change and braker fluid and for sure I know the oil change is better than getting it at my dealership already. I'll definitely recommend and will likely return for my next scheduled service. Harry, who's the owner, was personable and I noticed a steady stream of customers and calls during my time there so definitely call in and make an appointment as there's no scheduling online. I believe it's a family-run shop, I think I saw his son's certification on the wall as well.

There are untold stories of shady shops scamming customers, or even worse, negligently working on vehicles. It's bad enough when you're servicing your daily beater, but the paranoia only ramps up 100-fold when you're bringing in a performance vehicle. I've been taking my vehicle to Speedstar for over 3 years now and having spoken to various gearheads in the community, I can unreservedly vouch for their work and customer service. To that end, no shop is "perfect" and mistakes are sometimes made, but I cannot stress how professional their customer service has been! First off, I believe they've been for almost 10 years, if not longer, which speaks to their consistency. They began as one of the few GTA shops that not only focused on the JDM market, but the S2000 in particular. As with any niche vehicle, it has its own idiosyncrasies that your local Honda dealership would almost assuredly be in the dark about. Given the owners both tracked their S2000s for years, you can bet they know how to work on these vehicles! More recently, their shop have been involved with various drivers and racing series in the GTA (e.g., CSCS, Porsche GT3 cups, etc.) and have taken top spots in them. They've branched out from the JDM market, and I've seen track-prepped Ferraris, Porshes, Audis, McLarens and more in their shop. If that's not hardcore enough for you, I don't know what is. Although not necessarily the cheapest shop in town, they also won't gouge you like your dealership will. They've always taken their time explaining any recommendations they make, and I've never been pressured to do one thing or another. They've also never made any frivolous recommendations for me, and that has gone along way in establishing trust. For many, Speedstar could probably be a one-stop-shop for most of your gearhead needs. They would definitely be worth checking out if you have a performance vehicle that needs servicing...or more.

The owner looked at the damaged pipe, and gave me a quote on the spot. I agreed, and then they worked on my exhaust system ASAP! Upon putting on the exhaust tips, the owner asked how I liked the angle to be adjusted. Perfect example of customer service right there! Great way to allow customers to choose what they like best and what suits them. L&G is not only a specialist for exhaust systems, but they also provide different services such as oil changes, brakes, timing belts & water pumps, and many more!
