Maybe would have preferred a slightly more difficult workout but it was the closest I've found to Solidcore/SLT so far. Loved the instructor. Amenities were nice and the studio was clean and everything felt very new and in good shape. The front desk members were extremely friendly and I love the cafe area (with cheap coffee drinks I might add). Would be such a lovely area to spend an hour working after a class. Good strong wifi and plenty of outlets. It's not cheap, but it definitely feels like you get a lot of value out of the class. I would definitely return.

Today in particular, Leah made my day. For the 630am ride class, I had less than a minute to get in the class due to a delayed train. As soon as I got there she took my bag, shoes and got me into the room in record time. On top of that! She came to find me after the class to make sure I got my all my stuff and my free shake!! She went above and beyond with such a kindness about her, I really appreciated it! The class was also fantastic - a great start to anyone's day.

I took Sammy's 9:15 am 45 min class and I loved her teaching style! very motivating and positive - she explained everything and the class was very doable. we used weights (provided for part of class too) I wondered what the music would be like & was pleased that it reminded me of my old hed kandi tracks. the studio also has the instructor raised up on a platform and theres colored lights, a fog machine and a screen with pictures behind her. It's really something else! Shoes were included and you can borrow a stainless steel water bottle. There were toiletries provided in the ladies locker room, as well as locking lockers, towels, lots of showers, a aaaand a fridge full of chilled lavender washcloths! The bikes have a flywheel and pretty sure you can hook your phone up if you want to sync what your doing on your bike too your machine. You can also go on their website for the instructors play list. This one is right by Victoria station. Wish we had one of these in the states! I very much enjoyed my class! :)

I took two spin classes and one reformer class three days in a row and enjoyed every class. After I took my first spin class, I raved about it to my BFF about how much fun I had! It took some convincing to get her to join me on my next spin class because she hates cycling (with a passion). But to her surprise, she enjoyed the class so much that she said she would do it again! The class felt like a club with loud music and bright lights! Probably the only club we will go to these days...too old to rage like we used to. It was fun feeling like we were at a club and at the same time sweating and getting a good workout in. I wish they had this studio in San Francisco, miss it already! And the smoothies are good too!!

All the specs I read on the website looked like they were trying to replicate Fly Wheel in states. I took advantage of the month unlimited rides for a mere 18 pounds! The website is pretty state of the art where you purchase your rides but also book which bike you want in the studio. They only open up the reservations for the following week each month around 11am so you can't hog up the bikes weeks in advance. At the moment, the place is barely half full so no need to book that far in advance. The locker rooms are quite spacious but the lockers itself are quite small so throw your coats and less valuable stuff somewhere else. Remember to bring a lock. I was a little surprised to see the open showers as I think they could've easily attached curtains but there are 2 cubbies to the side if you prefer (like I do!). The studio is HUGE filled with keiser bikes and they are real nice. You can see your RPM and Torq - which is also recorded onto your account. If you're the competitive type, the beat board will push you to compete with the other riders in the studio. The stadium set up isn't as good as Fly Wheel but still pretty good. The best thing about this studio is definitely the music and the sound system is probably one of the best you'll experience. Chorey will depend on the instructor - and think they're good and will really push you. They provide lil sweat towels at each of the bikes but it's an extra pound if you want to hire a bath one. At the end of the ride, you get an e-mail with all your stats. I burned how many calories?? This is definitely the nicest spin studio in London so if you're a spinning nut like me - definitely give it a go.

Consequently, there is no messing about with press ups on your bike - it is just cycling as hard as possible for as long as the class lasts. If you are competitive, added motivation is provided by a 'beatboard' which visually ranks everyone in the class by energy output on big TV screens at the front of the class. However good you are, there is always someone just ahead of you to compete with. It has certainly worked for me. If this isn't your thing you can opt out of participating altogether. The only downside is that the changing facilities are not the best with communal showers and fairly small lockers. However, such is the quality of the classes themselves, I am happy to look past this and award Cyclebeat a very easy 5 stars.

When I checked in, the lovely girl at the desk knew it was my first time, took me for a quick tour explained how the classes work, told me a little about my trainer, facilities ect. It was really nice to go into a really top of the line gym filled with beautiful people and made to feel right at home where as it can otherwise be super intimidating. I did Accelerate which is a spin class. The bikes were top of the line, with digital monitors telling you exactly what intensity level you were on, rather than just guessing by turning the crank half a turn. I also liked that it kept calories and time. The room was dark, and the music was on point, was like working out in a club. Our instructor James, one of the head trainers was fantastic, the class flew by with tons of variation and was a killer, but in a good way. I also appreciated that he was thorough of little details (shoulders relaxed, heads up) because you can get a really sore neck from buckling down and scrunching all up in spin. My posture and core thanks you! It was completely full and its obvious why. Make sure to book early to ensure your place. The locker rooms are really nice, showers, hair dryers, full body towels if you do decide to shower there, and lockers with digital locks, so there is no worry about losing a key. Also you can order a protein shake ahead of time that will be ready for you at the desk post workout. The last thing I noticed and it seems silly, but it smelled so good in there, like a spa. I don't think I have ever described a gym as smelling good, and that is an almost impossible feat with everyone drenched in sweat. But, there you have it Core Collective, has ticked all the boxes.

So I decided to check out some of the Core classes after reading the reviews. Core is located in the back of a building and around the corner from Byron. Its a very upscale, modern facility. I took Velocity, Accelerate and Resistance. I spin a lot in Los Angeles and the spinning in London whether you go here or Psycle is just not like spinning in the US or aka Soul Cycle/Flywheel. Out of all the classes Accelerate was my least favorite as they didn't have clip in shoes. (only if you brought your own). You need your sneakers to strap in which I haven't done strapped in spinning in years. However the spinning style isn't as core focused as US spinning with a lot of hunching over the bike instead of holding your core up. However I thought both the Velocity and Resistance were both excellent classes. Loved the instructors as I had never taken classes like this and they explained all the moves patiently. They pushed you just enough but it wasn't like bootcamp where they are yelling at you. Very experienced, nice and professional. I esp liked Resistance as my class was only 5 people and intimate. I felt almost like I was getting a personal training session. Music was fantastic in both classes which makes the time fly by. The lockers are gorgeous as well as the showers. The cafe upstairs is very cute and sadly I wanted one day to sit there and eat or have a cup of coffee but didn't have time to do it. Also there is a Whole Foods near the tube station from Core that post workout I grabbed a smoothie and protein bar for the way home. Overall def recommend this place.

There is a trainer on site in the weird weight room who just stands in a corner like a creep. Oh and the mens jacuzzi is smack in the middle of the changing room. It's disgusting to see people come out of toilets and then pop into a communal tub without showering. Obviously all hot tubs are bacteria riddled and disgusting but christ, i don't need it rubbed in my face.
